►WITH FRIENDS AT ST DAVID'S◀
Following their spellbinding debut performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017, Marillion embarked on a new creative journey.
Inspired by performing with their Friends from the Orchestra and the reaction that the live collaboration had created, the band, along with producer Michael Hunter, reimagined a collection of songs from their extensive back catalogue. The resulting music welcomed the rich, textural soundscapes of strings, flute and French horn into the mix.
At the end of 2019 the ensemble, eleven musicians in total including the string quartet In Praise of Folly, flautist Emma Halnan and French Horn player Sam Morris, took the music on a tour that would play to sold out venues across Europe, concluding with another two amazing nights at the Royal Albert Hall.
With Friends at St David's joins the tour in Cardiff at a venue the band had last played some twenty years earlier.
Over two hours of beautifully crafted music and powerful performance, the film presents the full set, including songs from across the last thirty years of the band's repertoire.
SET LIST
Gaza / Beyond You / Seasons End / Estonia / The Hollow Man / The New Kings / The Sky Above The Rain / Zeparated Out / Ocean Cloud / Fantastic Place / This Strange Engine

This was written in the late 80's. Since then there has been no more change in climate than the usual variations seen over hundreds of years. Co2 changes with increasing temperature, not the other way around. Co2 at the moment is historically very low. I'm in England....it snowed a couple of days ago, which I'm my part of the country has always been pretty unusual

I was fortunate enough to be at this gig and the one twenty years earlier. St David's Hall has a reputation as having amongst the best acoustics in the world and Marillion and their Friends produced an exceptional evening. A friend of mine that works there and hadn't heard them before was stunned, not only by the band, but also the projected visuals as well. A special mention has to go to Tîm Sidwell and his crew, for producing a brilliant recording of the occasion, yet in the hall on the night, were totally inconspicuous. Already booked for next year's gig. Fingers firmly crossed.

Such a powerful song and also incredibly sad as well. There aren`t many songs that get to me as much as this one. I remember when it first came out we`d had some mild winters and I actually thought it might never snow again. Well it has snowed since then but the population keeps going up and up and climate change seems to be getting worse and indeed it is beginning to feel like seasons end
@JasperT-kc6gq
@JasperT-kc6gq Год назад
Despite the Musical brilliance of this song, please don't fall for the Climate Change agenda, pushed by Multinationals, Big Tech and Big Government. It's just another way to strip citizens of more money, rights and freedoms. Big companies make money out of it and the population is paying the price. Blaming regular people for climate change is just manipulation tactics to push their agenda of globalization. They are industrializing and ruining our landscape with windmills and solar panels in the name of climate change, trying to disconnect people to nature. Please start thinking and always follow the money.

How sad he lost his voice.. how amazing we have the historical records… still have sound of young beaming voice.. nothing lasts forever… sad to see it in front of our eyes

That flute -like keyboard in the end is what got me to like this song. And with the beautiful orchestra, it just makes it better, that nice guitar too
