Really enjoyed your video. I think your openness to different things, music and artists is really cool. Enjoyed your insights on live and let live and freedom of expression as long as you’re not hurting anyone; you have a very enlightened perspective. Manson is a unique artist, a genius, highly intelligent and extremely talented. He’s a legend now. But it was a long hard road in the beginning. Unfairly blamed for school shootings, death threats by religious groups and unfairly portrayed by the mainstream media, he persevered and was uncompromising in his art, his music and his imagery. He stayed true to himself. And made some of the greatest songs and albums of all time. He was one of the greatest voices of my generation.
He was inspired by Depeche Mode, a great British band you should check out. He covered their song Personal Jesus, but you should check out their song Barrel Of A Gun to see what you think. They’ve been going 40 years this year. Started off as a pop synth band but have grown with the years. Really underrated.
I’m Native so I was already disillusioned by US mainstream society because of how my people have been treated so I loved Marilyn Manson and his music because it helped me feel not alone
I recall when this first came out, it was so ground breaking and pulled people in. Manson likes to shock, to force a reaction, to make people think. If you ever hear his interviews he is very well spoken.
I got you bro, these are songs you should hit soon - been watching a lot of your reactions and sure you will dig these songs which cover several genre - "Freak on a Leash" by Korn - "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Thunder Kiss '65" by White Zombie "Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine and "Broken Wing" by Martina McBride
He purposefully made himself and his videos shocking. He has a lot of good, thought provoking songs usually about pretty deep topics. Can be hard to pinpoint so you'll have to Google their meaning. This cover definitely made him famous.
You had to be a teenager when this video came out to understand how big it was on mtv and trend setting. There was nothing like it at the time or prior, the horror , the theatrics ect..... This video sprung him to becoming a superstar, it was on every time you turned mtv on. He rose from the ashes of hair metal and gave us something to gravitate to as a alternative to grunge. Hard and heavy music with over the top theatrics that we craved and grunge did not offer us!
I have a few of his CD's - you need to hear his twist on Tainted Love - it's awesome. If you like Manson you REALLY need to check out White Zombie - maybe Thunderkiss 65!
You should really do Marilyn Manson not his cover of another artist. Try The Beautiful People, Wormboy, or why not Antichrist Superstar? Seriously though, Brian Warner is actually a very soft-spoken humble person in real life. He is the Head Priest of Church of Satan, baptized by Anton Lavey himself. He is a very kind loving man.
Wasn't a really big fan of him but I was kind of forced to watch him in concert twice because of 1997 and 2002 Ozzfest at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. Both times he was second to top billing before any Ozzy or Black Sabbath. I'm betting because Sharon Osbourne was his manager at the time. It's been a minute but back when fraud hotline wiring FrostWire where you can download peer-to-peer music I did like mobscene dope and Dope Show and the cover that we're listening to now.
hes done covers for songs personal jesus by depeche mode and tainted love by gloria jones. at least thats the ones i can think of on the top of my head but definitely check both the originals and his covers of those
