Manson's music has matured. He's 45 years old. If you don't like it then you're either living in the past or still that pubescent know-it-all punk, a stage we all went through. This is one of his better albums in recent years.
I feel like his new sound is like more into who he really is. Like from when he first started with the metal it was so intreating to others and people were offended and with his change of music it's like a new way to look at him.
I have been listening to Marilyn Manson since first album, and have to say that even that the type of music and songs have been changed in every album, he still makes them so powerful and awesome. First time i listened to this album, i was little surprised about the "slowness" of songs but damn! This works! Long live Marilyn Manson, keep up the good work!
Some may not like his new/newer music/sound, but I have to say I like it a lot. I started to listen to manson when I was maybe 12/13 yrs old... may sound a bit odd but i like that his music has changed and almost matured with his fans while we were changing and maturing..
I think if everyone who liked the song commented they would absolutely bury the comments hating on it. From the looks of things this song is getting a lot of love from fans and none fans of Manson, it's mainly just people stuck in the past who don't like it
I think this song is amazing. I think what I'm seeing too, is that most people only really consider Manson to be the Antichrist Superstar album. But it is true - people generally grow up. I mean, when I was 12 and listening to Smells Like Children, that was all I wanted to hear. Now, as an adult, I've thrown in basically every genre of music imaginable, because I realized that if you take the music from an emotional level, ...you aren't always angry and pissed at everything that exists. Also, if you play all the albums from Eat Me, Drink Me onwards, they progress flawlessly, something that didn't actually happen before that time.
He's still got a lot of hits left him! Don't ever under estimate Manson, he's definitely one of the greatest innovators we've had in music who never got the full recognition that was deserved.
This song will always remind me of you. A hard lesson learned is still a lesson learned. Stay blessed, I am me because of you. I'll always have love for you. Always. This life and the next.
To my knowledge the only other song that is out is that bit of "Cupid Carried a Gun" used as the intro for the show Salem. I shouldn't have said a few as I didn't mean it, sorry for the confusion. I don't know if that will be on the album or not either. I hope it is as I'd like to hear the rest of it.
The last album was his best work since Holywood. I hate that many fans have left. They are missing out on some really brilliant lyrics with a more mature and intellectual sound.
MissCJaneway Lol I just now submitted an essay I put off for weeks (which is due tomorrow morning). I would've got it done earlier today but I had this song going on repeat for hours. Slowed me down ):
It's MM. Like he always was. But also he get's older ... not hard to imagine that he needs to calm down a bit now so don't freak out you dont get songs like "Use your fist and not your mouth". I've read his book, he had/has a spectacular life so i think this is some kind of a statement that he grew up a bit over the last years but he's still himself. In MY opinion ofc ^^
***** True, but this feels different than anything I've heard from him. It's also damn listenable. I agree with The Amazing Atheist up there near the top, feels a lot like Nick Cave, which is NEVER a bad thing. Every heavy aggressive artist will release something heavy somewhere, less they change style completely. Manson hasn't, this is experimenting I think, he's at a point where maybe he just feels comfortable stepping out of that full on aggression of the past hm?
I don't know what you haters are talking about, if anything he's gotten better rhythmically & even more sadistically darker. If you play an instrument then you'd be able to appreciate the musicianship of the new prince of darkness... The pale emperor is a symbolic & spiritual meaning, and the spirits are certainly working their magic through him.....
I've reached the third day of a seven day binge And I can always see your name disintegrated from my lips I can't decide if you wear me out or wear me well I just still feel like I'm condemned to wear someone else's hell I got bullets And a booth Rather be your victim, than be with you I got bullets And a booth Rather be your victim, than be with you I've reached the third day of a seven day binge And I can always see your name disintegrated from my lips Rather be your victim, than to be with you
of course that it means before so that's why it was used to mean that everything before the Christ was consider as evil....a simple reference to the paganism... and this is i.e which stand for "id est".not e.i..... so next time u wanna say more stupid shits, trying to show us how much you are witty, please refrain this basic instinct baby.... bisous de France.
I've been listening to Marilyn Manson for twenty years; this man has also surprised me with phenomenal music. I love his new sound, the maturity, and control in his vocals; he truly is a Rock God.
So far I am truly impressed by the way he tells everyone to go f*** themselves and he does what he feels he has to do!!! Marilyn Manson is not about what everyone wants, it is about doing things the way HE wants. Love it or hate it, I am quite sure he doesn't give a flying f*** about other people's opinions and that's why he's probably the last real rockstar of our time!! This new track shows a new, more mature and actually more interesting Manson. If you are crying because it is not ACSS, MA or HW, well that train is long gone and I am glad he finds ways to keep us wondering what will he come up with next. Some people moan about artist not being creative or original enough, but expect Manson to be like he was in the 90's/00's....make up your mind. Love it.
Have the people who say stupid shit like "mansons gone soft" never heard of man that you fear? speed of pain? disassociative? coma white? coma black? fundamentally loathsome? many of the more acoustic tracks from holywood? the list goes on. Its ONE song from the album. His discography from well over a decade ago contains much MUCH 'softer' material than this, he's grown, he's not gonna write the same shit over and over and over. Heres an idea, if you want antichrist superstar.. listen to antichrist superstar.
So true. He changes his style every new album. Also he is very busy hes in Sons of Anarchy. Hes also filming with the new witch show Salem. So he has alot of stuff on his hands. But he has not gone soft. Just sit back and listen to his music. Because its just that Amazing.
I personally love the 'soft' Marilyn Manson songs Coma White is my favorite song of all time i also love In the Shadow of the Valley of Death, Lamb of God, Coma Black, The Fall of Adam, etc. The point is Manson's 'soft' songs are all great i love them
Eh, Born Villain was a nice mix of Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood. I can understand if people didn't like the High End of Low. This album could be really great. This is obviously a song that's soft enough for radio without any editing.
It's all lazy now, in my opinion. He used to sing about the flaws of society, religion, and politics. Now he sings about the cliche bad relationship. Every once in a while he'll throw in the word "God", because he still tries so hard to be shocking. I could understand why some people still like him, but holy hell do I hate it. I miss when I could listen to one of his songs and get a feel like, "Yeah, this is a really good song."
***** I also just don't give a shit. There are plenty of other musicians making great albums, and I'm not going to waste my time on Manson anymore, waiting and waiting for another good album and just being continually disappointed.
Is it me or most of the people hating MM's new albums are either refusing the fact that evolving artists can't produce 15 or 20 times the same music or just pissed because they can't shock their mommy anymore by listenning to MM's music ? Time to get out of your adolescent crisis...
This is a real 2.59am end-of-the-set goth nightclub song, where everybody is too weary to do more than gyrate and sway, the air is thick and haunted from the smoke machine and all you can smell is dead spirits and unquenched longing for a beginning, an end, something...
Amazingly artistic with an ethereal vibration that nearly rips one out of their shells and transports the audience to a new level of consciousness only previously visited and yet to be experienced. In short nothing less than what has come to be expected from Manson. It is resplendently chocked with the elements of mechanical animals the speed of pain Hollywood's in the shadow of the valley of death along with ,black and Valentines Day even eat me drink me mournful art and a realization
To be honest, I thought Manson was done for ever since the "EAT ME, DRINK ME" album got dropped into our laps. This song, however, reminds me that the old dude still has some tricks up his sleeve. In other words; Marilyn Manson is at his best when he has a good pop hook and a vampire-like aesthetic. No one does "dark and catchy" like MM (eat your heart out, Rob Zombie - oh, crap, I'm gonna get hate for that comment).
I agree, Eat Me, Drink Me, was not the best. I've learned to appreciate it more (I actually bought a few songs off of it, I really enjoy "Just a Car Crash Away") but as a Manson album...? Not as much.
I simply love his music. And I think a true fan never abandons their favorite rock singer no matter what happens. I will always love you for your talent and intelligence ❤
I can't stop listening to this, was worried a bit after reading an article a few months back about the sound of the new album, but I am definitely happy with this. I love all of Manson's album's for their own reasons, I love that he can evolve and change his sound, I would get bored if he just put out album after album that sounded the same like so many other artists do, being multidimensional shows you have true artistic ability. Can't wait to hear the whole album.
To all of you who whine about that Manson used to be better. You know that music is art, right? And unless you're a fabricated pop star that sings songs that other people wrote for the sake of dollar bills, music is written to reflect feelings. For many artists, music is the only place they can vent. Do you seriously expect that the young rebel Antichrist Superstar Manson, who made music about what he felt about the world back then, feels the same way now? That album was realeased 1996, almost TWENTY years ago! What kind of ignorant person do you have to be to expect that he will sit isolated in a bubble his whole life and only write songs that please your teenage rebel ass? His music is different now, because he is different. The man grew up and so should you. If you don't like it, don't listen.
how can they man up if the ones whining are still teens and rebelling? i just googled up 'songs for teen rebels' and the first playlist gave me the white stripes
Eh--the worst song on his last album Born Villain was still better than this, so he's clearly still got the ability to put out good albums if he really wants to. This song isn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it is definitely a disappointment. It sounds like a rejected song from High End of Low tbh (not a good comparison in my book). ...oh well, the leaks for a couple other new songs were also better than this, so here's to hoping Third Day of a Seven Day Binge is the worst of the new album. Would explain why he's giving it away for free...
DashRantic Cut him some slack.High end of low was a result of his messed up and broken private life where he lost his wife and then his new girlfriend rejected his proposal and disappeared out of his life. I don't think it's very surprising that it was reflected in his music. I think he was really brave to show his weakness and spill his guts to his audiance. I'm not saying that you have to like it or listen to it, but you can at least understand his suffering. I personally love his new song, I think it's a lot better than most of the songs in his two latest albums so I'm really looking forward to see what this one has to offer :)
Im 30 years old. This was my shit when I was a teenager. I don't know how one grows out of worshipping Satan...and writing music to reflect that fact...but I can't necessarily disagree with anything you said. If a rap artist made a country song, the kids would call them a poser. I guess one just has to judge what feels fake to them. Obviously music means a lot to a lot of people...it seems like so many waste time listening to things they don't like or agree with. Pointless. I feel like people starting being snobs when music started being free everywhere. You probably get more involved in an artist and try to listen to their message more when you're shelling out twenty bucks an album.
ive been listening to marilyn manson for around 12 or 13 years, and ive got to say this is probably my favorite manson album to date. its too damn good.
Marilyn Manson is the God of shock rock. I've been a fan since '97,and all his music videos are are awsome. Some of them are like watching a short movie.💯🔥
Manson's best tracks from the last few years have had the bluesy feel to them that this song has (like Leave a Scar). I'd be perfectly content if this is the direction he's taking now because this is catchy as hell.
Great song! It's been awhile since a Manson track had me at the edge of my seat waiting for the album release, which i'm guessing will be early next year. I've had it on replay quite a few times for the past week already. Lots of lovers, lots of haters. Sure he's changed, but is that really what you need to focus on? Can't you look past that and finally realize Manson has grown up? He's evolved into a new artist, and sometimes evolving is a good thing. But i'll always have a place in my heart for all of his music. Watching him evolve over the years, seeing how he changed so much, kinda made me change in a way for following him so long.
Great new song. Take no notice of the negativity from a certain group of fans who will never be happy unless you keep churning out Antichrist Superstar over and over again. Some of us have been fans since Portrait and understand and appreciate the need to evolve and be sincere in your art.
Y'all should stop hating the man's music. He's 46 and still making bad ass music. He gives great inspiration to everyone. I've grown up with this man's music. Every song he's wrote is just amazing. All the haters should stop the shitty comments.
I only really liked "No Reflection." Born Villain wasn't all that bad, just kinda bland. The High End of Low was his worst, despite having a tiny handful of good songs sprinkled throughout.
+Nyan Trump why would I have it put on me,? Sigil of Lucifer.. of course each angle,x and etc has significant meaning but why would I need to get all technical about the Sigil here on RU-vid? Why do you ask me about it
This album has absolutely blown my fucking mind. Every track is amazing. All of his music is stunning, and I have loved him since I was fifteen. I'm thirty three now, and still addicted. I hope he continues to make albums!
ozzombiegamble Make sure it's Mansinthe, and pins are not exactly what I wan to stick in you!! I miss you so fucking much Ozz it hurts! I love you darlin'....
I still remember the day Twiggy left tha band. I was cracked. I just couldn't believe it. Not to talk about accepting it. After since, the band changed, and Twiggy changed, too, into Jeordie White (that I really loved). When they got back together, they were a new thing. The old school is over, make yourselves a reason of it. You can love new stuff, or just leave. Always complaining about another band is ridiculous. This song isn't bad. Try not to think about it as "a new REVEREND MANSON"'s song, just as "a new song". Is it good or not, musically speaking? Mainstream has become such a disaster. I just read a topic about Beyoncè where people seemed to be convinced she sings like God. Really. It was embarassing. MM made music, all along. Respect them for this. This is an interesting new song. Manson did a lot for me, as well as for million of people. He did something. He's a real artist. Do not forget this. I wish them all the best. The day I saw a picture of Manson and Twiggy together again, even if in the meanwhile I had lost my passion for them, I was just happy for them. They are that crazy kind of old school artists, that draw their own path, even when the entire world is just wrapped in plastic.
What's with all the negativity? Manson is evolving as an artist, like many other bands. I've been a Manson fan for only a few years, but I've loved all of his music and albums and I've loved to see how he's grown to suit his personality and life. Sure, this is a more personal album and song, but I still think we'll be able to connect to the album as a whole. It's adjusting with the artist and his many, many styles.
After the last album, this is a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong, it did have its highs, but kinda sounded forced to me, like GAoG and HEoL made a baby. This sounds a lot more natural if that makes sense. It was pleasant to listen to. If this is anything to go by, I'm excited to hear the rest.
I never got into "Born Vilain", THEOL had an interesting basic mood, EMDM was ok, this new sound seems to fit a grown up MM, he's not an angry twenty-something anymore...
I have been a massive fan since the beginning . Manson and I are only a month apart in age and giving that fact I can relate to the stage of life we are in. Hard times are ahead. Thank you MM for years of pleasuring deep thought.
I love this! Cant stop playing it. Cant wait for my white vinyl to come! I love how his music evolves and he doesnt try to beat a dead horse. His songs are always catchy and powerful. If you want to hear his old sound dig out his old stuff. But for me im loving tge new sound.
Moi aussi j'ai découvert récemment ce titre, et Marilyn Manson (que je ne connaissais pour ainsi dire pas) sur Inter (tjs aussi bonne la prog' d'Inter!). Excellent! Totalement envoûtant...
I think that this new Manson is great! He's always changing and that's what a true artist should do, every album is a new side of him and I really like this mature Manson now, I've been his fan for almost two decades, I'm almost 30 now, and like him, I've changed, so maybe that's why I'm still being his fan, I can't barely tolerate his first albums, when I was 12 I used listen to that all day long, now, I listen to his newer albums, it's more down to earth music to me now. Thanks MM for being a true artist.
Remember watching MM videos early mornings, back when MTV actually aired music videos, before catching the bus to school. Elementary school to. Now I got my teenage kids loving this shit. My Mom loved him, I love him, and now my bad ass kids do.
Man I don't give a fuck, I enjoy what Mason is doing now A LOT. I've been listening to his music since I wasn't even old enough to listen to it. I've liked all of his albums, some more, some a lot less. These tqo songs from the new album are honestly such an amazing change. I love that he's able to be versatile. He's an artist and a human being, he evolves and so should you. If you're the same depressed and angry teen you were fifteen or more years ago then I'm sorry for you. Good job Mr Mason, you've been working hard.
I like this new Manson sound. It's nice actually to enjoy the music rather than be drowned out by screaming and profanity. I'll never buy his albums but I'll download this track.
