1953 - Sept 13. Marilyn Monroe made her first television appearance in the American program The Jack Benny Show, presented by comedian Jack Benny, for a skit entitled "The Honolulu Trip" Episode 4 of Season 1. The show was broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Six weeks after the completion of "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds "Marilyn took part in this show to promote, with the approval of the Twentieth Century-Fox. Jack Benny was very pleased with the participation of Marilyn in his show when he asked her what she wanted in compensation, iMarilyn told him, "Oh, I do not want money but no one ever offered me a car yet . "Jack and offered her a convertible black Cadillac convertible with red interior plucked: and though it does not know it at the time, due to the popular image of the presenter, no one would have been anyway believe. But above all, Marilyn "does not want money" as it was stipulated in his contract with Fox, if she participated in any advertising promotion, paying fees in money it was strictly forbidden! FYI: Jayne Mansfield, another blond Hollywood actress, Marilyn rival, but especially the living parody of Monroe, replayed the skit with Jack Benny in a later issue.

Very interesting to see Marilyn with a range of facial expressions not usually seen. Too she didn't like to be photographed on the left but that's mostly the side of her we see and she was gorgeous as usual. I saw "Lurline" on the lifeboat. I'm an ocean liner enthusiast and "Lurline" was the name of three different passenger ships of the Matson Line.

The garment industry had not come out with material that had stretch as you can see when Marilyn does a zig zag. Because she looked great in any type of material. What did we do without stretch and our material clothing. I was 2 years old when this was taken and I remember Marilyn before she died. I watched her on my family's new TV, when TV came out as a thing that would never last. Haha lol. Remember that when you're starting up a new business.
