When I was growing up, I always wanted to look like Marilyn. I'm still young but I now somewhat understand her pain and what she was going through. Seeing her films again, it feels haunting that she was in so much pain during this time and now she's dead. Even at her grave she is being objectified. One man wanted to be laid face down over her dead body. His wish came true. People are disgusting and this wonderful woman should have had the respect and good treatment she deserved.

Everything about this scene is just perfect. The song, the choreography, the costumes, the set design, and of course the actress. I can't imagine any other actress pulling this off. It happened at exactly the right time in her career, when she was at the height of her insane beauty. It's really one of the few flawless scenes in film history.

This is my first time watching this number. I’ve heard of Ms Monroe’s “reputation”. Here I am, so mesmerised by this performance that I want to cry because there are so many people who still think she was just a sex symbol and untalented. I’m so utterly bewildered. It takes so much to be that captivating on screen especially when I’ve heard that she had to overcome shyness to perform. You can’t really “play dumb” with depth if you are actually dumb. And musicals or comedies are so often overlooked because they aren’t as “serious” as drama. It breaks my heart that she was treated so poorly. All I want to do is watch it again. This is such fun satire and timeless. I could only dream of pulling off this phenomenal number.

It speaks volumes that this scene was brilliantly parodied in the recent Harley Quinn/ Bird Of Prey movie. At the very peak of her powers, nobody came even remotely close to matching MM. She was marvellous in "Niagra", "Don't Bother To Knock" and "Some Like It Hot" as well. Even if her life was tragic, her on-screen presence has made her immortal.

Such an iconic number! Marilyn was so talented. She makes the choreography look so natural, while maintaining perfect form and charisma. It’s hard to believe she struggled with anxiety, among other things, and had an unpromising start (like a lot of famous people).
