She was TRULY the triple "threat" - she could act as well as she could dance as well as she could sing!!! And her incomparable beauty and total enchantment!!! A TRUE GENIUS!!!
I agree. She was great in all of her movies, but this one is the absolute best she has done, because she got to do her own acting without someone telling her what to do, and she did a marvelous fantastic job. They had to use four wraths to get through the river scenes. And there were not any body doubles. They, all three, Marilyn, Robert and Little ten year old Tommy W. And, I can say that she was not appreciated or respected like she should have been. They abused her. She is absolutely beautiful after they Comericialized her, but I think that she was absolutely beautiful before, when she was innocent 😇. She is classic, and I have not seen anyone else like her, not even those who try to immatate her.
Very fragile breathy light voice and limited range though. Some of her songs were dubbed. Monroe is a classic example of the 'made in hollywood' star. She began to think she was just an illusion without talent. She went into a slow decline and eventually overdosed by mistake on an anxiolytic cocktail.
@@user-sq6hu2fo8g It's not that, people say true negative things about dead people they never met all the time, it's that he's putting feet of clay on a woman of real ability, a woman who took what the studio gave her and made herself into something. If it was just the studio factory she would have been a dime a dozen and instead she was utterly unique. So Canuck 🇨🇦 is even more despicable than you think. Incidentally Marilyn died not from her own mistake but from medical malpractice which was carefully covered over and the secret carried to three people's graves. The world is full of wicked people, but Marilyn was the real deal.
@@user-sq6hu2fo8g I don't think the concept 'normalize' is clarifying here. I think the validity of saying bad things about dead people depends on how factual and contextualized the statements are. I do not believe in a principle of "don't say bad things about the dead". I prefer the principle "don't say false or de-contextualized things about anyone".
She's so talented in singing this song. Lots of emotional voice was within her singing. Who said she was just a blond sexy doll. Don't underestimate her abilities.
Well deat, you said it all. Marilyn. Monroe,Norma Jeane Baker. One in millions Her talents went beyond het knowing how truly Wonderfully exciting and entertaining l. She is. Was Wonderful, thats was desire. Sweetheart, byhe world adores, did the, still Does. You were brilliant in ALL you did. 💋🌷🎆💟💜💙thank you, I love my Friend Going swimming now, with you.😗
Truly, a more remarkably perfect woman will never exist. Her physical beauty and allure is matched by the beauty of her talent, personality and soul. The beauty of a Goddess and voice of an Angel. The emotion and passion she sings with my God…my heart absolutely melts and breaks. I so wish she was recognized for her talent as much as she was for her beauty and sensuality when she was alive…if anyone deserved the whole world, it was sweet Marilyn Monroe 💖
@@peterluhoway3498 Someone is always jealous and has to say something stupid. Usually they try to knock her talent-say she didn't really sing (she did) or whatever so they feel better about themselves. It's pathetic and tired.

Когда я прочитала ваш комментарий, слёзы полились из моих глаз 😢,как вы всё верно написали! Мэрилин - богиня!Совершенство во всём!Я люблю её! Она будет жить вечно в наших сердцах!!!
Such a beautiful person inside and out. Marilyn worked extremely hard on acting, singing and dancing and often times would practice until late and into early morning hours to perfect her craft. Jane Russell even had even quoted that “Marilyn was very serious and always a hard worker.” Bless her heart and soul. She was like a lightbulb that lit up a dark room. We miss and love you Marilyn. Gone way too soon.😘☺️👌🏻
@@dragonballsupersucks516 Its when she was abusing drugs, Bobby kenneddy made her do it, She was thrown away like chewed gum . Every person deserves respect sadly sge did not get any
Other side is she was difficult to work with, most the time showed up late, had sleeping problems, took different medications, also did cocaine and had many love relations. She had problems and was exploited sexually. The exploitation of women in Hollywood continues. Marilyn was high maintenance and had spending problems as well. She spent all her husband's money and why they divorced. She was beautiful but an also mixed up person. She had relations with both the Kennedy brothers and others. Mitchum also had a lot of personal problems. Acting is one thing but personal lives another- don't confuse the two by what you see in film. Most actors have a steam of narcissism.
Such kind comments about a simple girl with a horrible childhood who had the courage to dream and became the most famous female star even decades after her passing.
River of No Return was grossly underrated. This was a WONDERFUL production. From the opening scene, background music, everything about this movie. I loved it the first time I saw it and will never grow tired of watching this movie.
Watching this over 60 years after it was filmed I still marvel at how much she gave to the screen and how much the camera loved her. Her beauty continues to amaze and move me.
Marilyn was not just another beautiful and talented actress, and there were many many of them in the Hollywood of that time. She showed her naked heart, her naked soul, without protection, and that gave her voice and eyes that special melancholy that makes us cry ever and ever.
Marilyn is absolutely the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life. Not just on the outside, because that’s isn’t entirely important. On the inside she was just as beautiful. And she was a poor lost woman looking for love her whole life.. She deserved all the love in the world. If I could do anything, I’d travel back and hug her.. and let her know how appreciated and loved she is. And everything will be alright. 💗
What a voice! I always thought she was a fantastic singer. She truly was a stunning woman. She just glows on film and actually had so much talent. She could model, act, sing, dance, anything. Its rare to see a beauty with intelligence and talent like that famous now in 2018. Its all auto tuned voices, bad attitudes, and fake asses. I wanna go back to the days of Marilyn...when stars were worthy of their fame and had talent.
I think she's sung this song best. It always touches me with her sexy and charming sound. And, yes, she's still the most beautiful woman that I've ever seen, too.
@@Phnx282 oh that's according to you, she was Beautiful with and without makeup, maybe you should see the actresses that you've mention without makeup, then you'll know who's beautiful. Aishwarya and Suchitra are all beautiful with makeup and without makeup, they're okay, but Marilyn was beautiful with and without makeup, moreover she has a beautiful character and beautiful personality. Also that time, there wasn't so much about makeup as there is now, no offence but Aishwarya has done multiple surgeries to be that way, Marilyn was natural beauty.
She is wonderful lady.she she possessed special attention and magic. Her face is calm.nd her eyes full of oceanic waves. Alot of sultry stuff nd charm .wow great spirit.
There is only ONE Marilyn Monroe. I did not know she was a singer as well. Tragic she died so young , and very tragic she could not find true love to have true happiness. She was the victim of her childhood /circumstances. GOD bless her. Rest in peace Marilyn. I can relate to what u want through in your short life , which was full of glamour , and also inevitable pain.
If you listen you can hear it call.(Wailaree). There is a river called the river of no return, sometimes it's peaceful and sometimes wild and free. Love is a traveller on the river of no return, swept on forever to be lost in the stormy sea.(Wailaree). I can hear the river call (no return, no return). I can hear my lover call,"come to me". I lost my love on the river, and forever my heart will yearn. Gone, gone forever, down the river of no return. Wailaree, wailaree. You never return to me.
She was the most beautiful thing that ever existed. And I say "thing" not to be objectifying, but that no object or thing in nature compares, either. I want to cry thinking what a sad life she had and how she was kind of abandoned by her parents, in one way or another. My God, who wouldn't want to say "that's my daughter up there!!" It's almost as if no one could be endowed with that distinction.
Donn Godfather I could honestly not have worded it better myself, she is essentially the embodiment of perfection itself, the ultimate symbol of beauty and majesty. Marilyn Monroe has no equal, the most beautiful human who has ever lived.
The River of No Return can never be sung by anyone else as good in this world except Marilyn . This song bares her soul as a true human being yearning for love in her loneliness. This constant feeling of loneliness and sadness was also reflected in her eventual suicide. She is truly beautiful, fragile and unforgettable. Just like every one of us, her heart is a lonely hunter for true love. Isn't it what life is all about?
She was murdered by Dr Greenson who was most likely on hire to do it, with the help of Eunice housekeeper. Watch the videos of the first responders and of the police chief at the time.
Beautiful - could sing dance and act and very intelligent - even now - nobody has the special magic she possessed - try as they might with makeup etc..your videos are giving credit to a wonderful lady who was taken too soon 😔
She was sad here and could feel it.. She knew there was no way out and right back where she came from.. Until the climax of the movie!!!! ONE of my FAVS!!!!! Since I was a kid, then when I was in the Army overseas they played this and I was right back home and got homesick!! I try and watch when I can now.
This scene's gratuitous and illogical nature is entirely worth the opportunity it creates for one of Marilyn's best performances. You see the whole story of the movie written fleetingly on her face as the lyrics recall them. Outstanding.
A couple years ago, I was in Canada along the Bow River where some of the movie was filmed. I had this song in mind as I walked along the banks of that beautiful river.
This was a very sad scene - her sweetheart just killed and all her dreams of changing her life shuttered. Marilyn sang with pain and sadness in her voice and face. A marvellous actress.
Magical & mesmerizing Marilyn in another classic Silver Screen moment only she could create, never before & never again, Marilyn Monroe your star shines bright forever and you are loved and missed by many...
i grew up listening to this song thanks to my father who'd play his tape every morning and this song captivated me. I didn't know it was Marilyn who sang this til i decided to download it on my phone.
I had a crush on her from when I first saw The Misfits on DVD. Stunningly beautiful. Jane Fonda, a beauty in her own right, said that when Marilyn entered a room all mens eyes went to her and then they were mesmerized. She definitely had IT.
Truly lovely and so memorable. There's something VER special about this song ~ and MM's wonderfully charming delivery of it, plus the perfect background. It all works ideally.
⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 Brilliant! Haunting melody and beautiful vocal from Marilyn💋 Underrated film. More of a MM💋 film than a true western, but still very very good!❤
Chris J. Plamondon ...yes!!! I do have to agree on her voice and how beautiful it is and might I add that she looks do good in everything she wears !!! Classy 🤗
I like how she throws her high heeled shoes when leaving as she understood with the life she was going to have along her new man the shoes would not be of any use to her. It makes me think when we change life or work there are things we must leave behind as they are no good any longer. They might have been good but shall no longer be of use to us.
Marilyn 😇💜 was an incredible and very talented actress, singer, dancer, writer /poet & an amazing lady. Unfortunately, she had a sad 😢 and a hard 😲😦 life. I enjoyed the movie 📀 "the river of no return." I wish people could see how talented marilyn 😇💗 is.
Marilyn is the only star whom women love as much as men. She was capable of being a dramatic actress but didn’t live long enough to act in those. Her range of expression is so huge. Pity her beauty so overwhelmed her long list of talents, singing, dancing, perfect comedic timing, vocal expression, even her walking is reminiscent of Charlie Chaplain. Walking into the saloon, feeling like a loser, Marilyn is a superb actress.
No, I think it's more that during her life straight men loved her more than women did, and now years after her death women and gay men love her more than straight men do.
She is so wonderful at displaying emotion while singing a song. Her eyes look past where she's at into the far distance and there's a kind of a longing for something that's not in that room. There's a longing for magic it feels nature maybe even innocence. I understand that longing in her eyes. She was amazing!
marylin RIP my dear... from quite poor orphanage :"living" beginnings... you achieved a lot... & lot more than the others think... & you got very far.... & you did it on your own... RESPECT! GOD BLESS YOU!
