Marilyn was a one of a kind. She was ooh so photogenic ,almost to the point my thinking is so that the camera was almost invented for her. What woman would change places with her? No one unless they are willing to feel the pain. She was one of the most beautiful woman who ever lived.
There are many beautiful women and maybe more than Marilyn, but all them don't have something she had, she shined like a star and the moon. No other woman on earth can have what Marilyn had, used uniqueness and love within.
loulou - Yes, Marilyn was STUNNING, NO QUESTION, but her life was sooooooo SAD, I wouldn't trade places w/her for ANYTHING!!!! It's said that Billy Graham visited her and spoke to her about Jesus. She didn't want to accept Him. Now that's one of THE SADDEST THINGS I EVER HEARD ABOUT HER!!!!
@@libertygiveme1987 Jane Russell also trled but Marilyn declined....however...we do not know what she asked God when she was being murdered...I believe she is in Heaven experiencing the Father who truly loves and forgives and she will never hurt again! RIP Marilyn
The making of this movie was difficult to say the least but that's not where I'm going. The scene where Marilyn is hugging the tree is an existential experience and my favorite.
Clark was a true gentleman with her, very understanding and compassionate, even with her neurotic episodes that held up production for hours and hours in 100 degree heat.
It is so sad to see the most beautiful woman in the world silenced by tyrants who are dead and have not been punished Look at the sadness in her eyes! Look at her lack in the look Look how insecure it was and needed affection But once the powerful silenced the woman who was the greatest symbol in the world. She brought so much joy, she was exploited and there was no justice to condemn those who killed the most beautiful woman in the world. Very unfair!
Filming "The Misfits" was a difficult experience for Marilyn and at one of the worst times of her life. I've read that she lost so much weight that some scenes filmed early on had to be done over because Marilyn's appearance had noticeably changed. The filming was extensively photographed by several photographer (Eve Arnold's pictures are my favorites) so we have a remarkable collection of from this time and this project. Thank you for sharing this wonderful photo album.
She was pregnant in The Misfits, în 8 july 1960 ,when she had first fotos with suits, she was already in 4 months and half, but in endle of august she was in hospital and after she continued the movie, but dont was more pregnant !!
Many of these photographs were taken in Dayton, Nevada-12 miles east of Carson City on Hwy 50. A temporary rodeo arena was built in Dayton for the Misfits. Also scenes were filmed outside the Dayton Valley Inn, on the corner of Hwy 50 and Dayton Valley Rd.
I SOOOOOO love this song & this young woman's voice! It makes me want to cry! You sure know how to pick 'em Kat! LOVE the song AND the video! Rest in Peace, Sweet Marilyn Monroe...
did Marilyn and Clark know this would be their last film? of course not. will any of us know when our time is about to come? this movie is one of my all time faves. such vulnerabitlity. i just love it. every actor is superb. at the end marilyn says to clark: "how will we find our way home in the dark?" clark says to her: " you see that big star? the highway is right under it and it will take us home..." arthur miller's best screenplay. we can see ourselves in such grand art....
I can’t help but wonder what kind of internal conflicts and disconnect she experienced in terms of her childhood of neglect and abuse compared with her adult life of super stardom and adulation. You don’t come out of a traumatic childhood like hers without always feeling that you don’t deserve success - or that you’re unworthy of it. It must have been mental torture. RIP 💞
The legend says she was drugged with sleeping pills at night and drugged with stimulants daytime. All I see is a sane, bright and professionnal woman !
Beautiful video she was indeed beautiful, but to trusting of people who used her, it's such a shame she didn't have children, you can see from the pictures how much she loved them, what might have been!!!! 🐕🐕🐕🐕
In this movie, Marilyn wears very simple dress like white shirt or no sleeve one-piece.and she's very adorable and beautiful. I think it's really unfortunate that after this movie shooting, she got divorced with husband.
I admire so much her sparkling beauty! Something to emulate. With all the turmoil in her life, it is amazing she could sparkle so. She worked hard. Arthur Miller tried hard. Your video is such a nice tribute. :).
I've read a quote supposedly from Clark Gable criticizing Montgomery Clift and Marilyn for being so emotionally messed-up during the making of this film. It seems plausible that he could've said this, but he died not long after it was completed, so I don't know if he really had time to say such a thing to anyone.
Gable's wife had plenty to say about Marilyn after Clark died as the stunts he performed in the extreme heat, with a heart condition, while waiting for her to show up, might have contributed to his death. But Clark never ever publicly criticized anyone, even his ex wives, and would divert any reporter who tried to fish a bad word out of him.
Making this movie contributed a lot to her death. Her makeup artist and arguably closest friend Whitey said this movie should have never been made. Marilyn took sleeping pills since 1954 but it was during this movie she became a full blown addict.
I watched this film when I had taken acid. I could see clearly Marilyn was in a state, nervous as fuck, Monty was drugged and Clarke was drunk. I saw it all.
Why couldn’t she be happy? So good cast in this film. Wasn’t she egotistical? And how could she flirt with Montan? He had a wife with whom she became close and she had a husband. Well ok with selfish Miller but forgot that her lover had a wife and you could hurt her ... this’s wrong!
