Gosh, reading through a diary entry of hers, it makes me sad while watching this-- "Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. There’s no winning for some. I seem to have won over the world, and completely lost myself. Have another drink. Have another pill. Sleep some more." She was so loved but couldn't love herself. Bittersweet.

Moving. MM had that human quality that not many of todays" goddesses" project. It is just a matter ,also, of a different time. Soul and vulnerability meant something. Sad.

She had such a hard time yet when the end result was spectacular. I had tears in my eyes in parts of the video - some because she looked stressed and sad, some because she was so lovely that my heart just melted. Such a shame this was the last film both Marilyn and Clark Gable completed. RIP Marilyn Monroe, you were SO wonderful. I wish you did not doubt yourself so much and that you were given more changes to do what you wanted to do more than anything. I love you and think of you every day.

I find this video a really touching tribute to Marilyn. In the photos & video footage there's such a childlike & innocent quality that emanates from her. It's quite sad to watch, but at the same time intriguing. I know Marilyn hated doing 'The Misfits', but in my opinion it was one of the best performances she ever gave. Such a beautiful woman & soul.

How is it I've never seen this video until many years after it was posted? What a wonderful presentation of photos and footage! I'm thinking that some of what we see here was photographed or filmed early in the production of "The Misfits" and some quite a bit later because Marilyn is thinner. I've read that Marilyn lost so much weight during the filming of "The Misfits" that some scenes had to be re-shot because of the noticeable difference in Marilyn's appearance. It's a shame that the filming of this movie was a time of so much unhappiness of different kinds and for different reasons. when it should have been a good experience for Marilyn.---Marilyn Monroe gave an excellent performance but I also want to pay tribute to Clark Gable. Until I saw "The Misfits" I hadn't realized how fine of an actor he was.

People always pan Arthur Miller for writing this movie but I think he did it with great love. It was such a fitting and believable role for her. I loved ths movie. I have watched it so many times

I bet it was hard to act in this movie since Arthur Miller made it from Marilyn's life, in other words he used her by the advantage of marriage to make a role for Marilyn from her own life. When I watched this movie Marilyn's hands were shaking like crazy at scenes where she talked about her past :(

I thought I'd seen most or all of the on-set photos from "The Misfits", but was surprised and ecstatic to see several new ones for the first time in this video. Thank you SO much for posting them, especially the ones of MM deep in thought as she's about to do a scene, as well as the ones with her radiant smile. Lovely!

It is amazing how happy she could look when you know that her heart was breaking.

There are some nice still shots in this sequence, and with her husband Arthur Miller, the writer of the story. They were separating and divorcing at the time of making the movie. I wonder when I see these RU-vid abbreviated short runs, that especially the younger crowd today might not have seen the movie. She was stunningly in this movie. I can't watch it anymore because of all the sadness that was happening in her life. Miller betrayed her and the marriage imploded, she had a couple of miscarriages a few years earlier, Clark Gable died and she blamed herself. Just an SOL time for her. RIP Marilyn.

It's a pretty interesting movie with a lot of talent behind it. Give it a watch, if movies made prior to 1980 and shot in black and white don't literally kill you, like garlic to a vampire. We know you love her so much that you would kill to protect her from the evil husbands and publicists, but are you tough enough to watch one of her movies? #truetest
