Marilyn Monroe Visits Servicemen in Tokyo Army Hospital

This is a video of Marilyn's honeymoon in Japan with former Yankee permanent Joe DiMaggio, when she visited the Tokyo Army Hospital to comfort wounded soldiers. It is said to have been acclaimed as "the greatest cure since penicillin." You can feel the kindness of Marilyn's beautiful heart.
At around 1 minute and 2 seconds into the video, you can see that Marilyn has a splint on her right thumb. It is said that the injury was caused by an accidental, but not malicious, assault by a drunken DiMaggio after a minor dispute on January 31, before his visit to Japan. Poor Marilyn!

My God she truly was an Angel personified...her inner beauty matches her unparalleled outer beauty and she just leaves you breathless! I noticed the bandage on her thumb and accidental or not, I hate that Joe hurt her...

@@MiJaHa she had a fight with her husband. Joe DiMaggio, and then her thumb broke. She talks about it in some short interview. ( I hope I wrote his name right). They had a "stormy" relationship.

@@duetforherbivores the scene in the film 'the seven year itch' where her skirt gets blown over the subway grill led to a divorce from her then husband ' Joe Di Maggio' and a possible assault by him before that, though I cant say it's 100% certain

such wonderful footage. It's too bad we don't get to hear what she is saying to them. It is very well known that she was quite a funny lady and had people cracking up all the time. You can see this very easily here. She was a total sweetie.
