Marina the Donkey and Her Sanctuary in Split, Croatia

When thinking about things to do in Split, Croatia, try hiking to the top of Marjan Hill next to Diocletian’s Palace. On your way up, you may find a female donkey named Marina.
Marina lives with several donkeys and other animals in a sanctuary overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Long before cars, her breed used to carry supplies up Marjan Hill.
Today, her refuge can be found in the remains of what was once the city zoo. She is part of a program called Toward Europe that seeks to develop new purposes for donkeys.

great work donkeys do deserve the best! we are donkeys are great on hvar island croatia and have also taken in donkeys. they are wonderful animals x

For a certain reason, when I share a video to Facebook from RU-vid, very few see it/like it or share it in comparison if it's shared from a post on Facebook or elsewhere. Too bad as this video is wonderful and gives a lot of hope for our beloved Donkeys who deserve as Hrvoje says “They [Donkeys] carried enough in history - let’s make a better future for them” Love this quote and I will be using it in future. I shared Tricia's wonderful article as well. Today I am sharing both on my personal wall! Thank you :)
