In actuality in the Army, I've even done platoon Sergeant duty as an E5. Yes, in the doctrine squad leader is Staff Sergeant, but there's situations that may be different. It's all case by case.
@@digitalcthulhu143 Well, there you go... would have surprised me if they wouldn't be following that path now. Guess they just don't want to scare off new recruits in their advertisemens.
If you're a DAV , you should have enough brain to tell your son, not to scarface his body and join you as another DAV, he has nothing coming, any straight WHT male has to be out of his mind, let the dead bury their dead
My favorite Marine Corps advertisement was a bill board that said, "It's God's job to judge the terrorist... It's our mission to arrange the meeting!".
So he can die for Schwab and Soros? There might have been a time to advise your family to go into the military but it ain't now. Gonna be funny though when the woke military is having to battle Russia and China, because that is what the current administration is pushing us into.
The Marines will never be the old Marine Corp as long as you train the women with the men. No matter how you cut it, the physical standards MUST be reduced to have women trained with the men.
❤️❤️❤️ we need more marines less woke civilians in our military. The military has to stop talking about being comfortable. 🙄 Ur not gonna be comfy in war what a joke
I've never wanted to join the military let alone the marines but that video got me thinking about quitting the teaching life. I'd rather get my ass shot at than deal with brats and their parents!
@@njskater360 not yet. But we seem to be heading to war with other global superpowers. It’s going to be a blood bath. There isn’t any amount of training you can teach a rifleman that will keep them safe from the technology those countries have. Drone strikes, tactical nuclear weapons, guided missiles, cyber attacks disabling communication, undetectable mines. It’s going to be bad
I'm 51 and I've never been in the armed forces but hands down the Marines have always had thee best recruiting comercials.Their commercials have always told you what the marines are all about.
@@Frankie5Angels150 Just because he didn't join doesn't mean the recruiting ads aren't good, no ad is going to pull every single person in or else the whole country would be in military uniforms... plus, he could've had a valid reason not to join. Go be negative somewhere else.
“Letters found on the Japanese dead in the crater described us as monsters. “The Americans on this island are not ordinary troops, but Marines, a special force recruited from jails and insane asylums for bloodlust.” ― Jim Proser, I'm Staying with My Boys: The Heroic Life of Sgt. John Basilone, USMC
The Japanese had a string of victories, Russo-Japanese War, defeat of China, invasion of the Philippines and Pearl Harbor. Yet they met their match losing Guadalcanal to the Marines. In order to soften their shock they created rumors as the previously mentioned of Marines being convicted murderers released from prison to fight. Or individuals who murdered their mothers. They did not realize they met a force as committed as they were to fight to the death. The Marines at Guadalcanal were unsure if they would be resupplied by the Navy. They had heard of the Bataan death march. They were going to battle with the same bushido spirit as their opponents.
They shouldn't have done away with the Scout Snipers. Just my opinion they spent a lot of time and money training these men why get rid of them? If I'm not mistaken it took a long time i.e. 20 plus years after WW2 to set up the schools, so why stop teaching this unique skill set?
You have though: you've lost your armour.....as did my Corps after the 1990/91 Gulf War. That was meant to be an 'improvement in our capabilities' as well. Per Ardua. 🇬🇧
My experience of the Marines being an Australian Army Veteran can be summed up like this. They are laid back when they can be, they are disciplined when they have to be and they are vicious and lethal when they need to be 😎 Their band plays Waltzing Matilda perfectly and has a great history with Australia, indicating that they have been better diplomats and representatives for the US then most politicians. With the way things look at the moment around our neck of the woods, the responsibility the Pacific Fleet has, US DoD best gather more consideration for the Marines and their role in being the hard chargers who secure and establish areas for the Army to move in and sustain. We all could be looking at another Island hopping situation in the near future.
The Australians saved a lot of Marines on Guadalcanal in the WWII pacific theater with their recon program. They would spot the Japanese planes coming in and radio the elevation, speed and ETA. Supposedly the it was almost spooky how correct they were. "But when the Australian coast watchers gave us warning, we'd have over an hour warning, sometimes an hour and a half warning. They say, "About 18 coming your way, about 18,000 ft, should be there in an hour and a half." These guys were right every bloody time" -Captain Danforth P Miller, Cactus Air Force
My brother told our Dad that he was going to enter some branch of the military. Dad said, "Okay, just choose any branch except the Marines." My brother joined the Marines, for 20 years. lol Not sure why Dad said what he said, but we're definitely all proud of Mike.
I’m so sick of all this garbage about feelings . A person can’t even use proper English anymore geez ! Thanx for your service by the way kind sir !🙏💯🇨🇦
The Be All You Can Be came out in late 70"s and was the most successful recruitment campaign ever. After Emma's 2 moms they went back to what worked in the past.
Coming on base in drag, there is a charge for that. It's called "conduct unbecoming," and it is absolutely in the UCMJ which you agree to abide by when you raise that right hand at MEPS!
That is the best description of the Marine Corps. We are different. Not We are better, we are worse because each branch has its respective role but anyone in the military that did any cross service operations will tell you the same thing there is just something different when you work with marines. Used to love working with seal teams and later in life was talking with some of those guys and hell most of them liked working with us just as much as we liked doing ops with them.
We've always been different than everyone else. And we take pride in that. The Culture, traditions and brotherhood are what made me join. Got out in 2013 and still proud as hell.
That's crazzzzzzy!!!!! They really seemed to be loving the wokeness when they kicked me put for refusing that covid jab!!! Labeled my seperation as misconduct on my dd214 as well. 😅 yeah they are totally not woke!!!!!
These modern-day tyrants at RU-vid have no idea what the word hateful or harmful really mean. Your videos are helpful informative and entertaining. They just get off on their power canceling people like you because they don't agree politically with you
Every other branch is getting softer and softer. The USMC is still trying to kick it like it’s 1967. Not necessarily a 100% great thing, but def not a bad thing.
My son, 17, wanted to join the service… but then he found what was going on with government, the destructive push toward world war, and how demonized soldiers are when coming home and how terrible the government is to service members… now he just wants to move somewhere with limited government involvement in his life… he changed his mind… I’m so proud!
It’s a sad thing to see. I’m about to retire from the Army and I’ve seen a LOT of changes, and not for the better. When you take away disciplinary measures little by little you’re eventually left with a recruit and not an actual soldier. Something has to change!!!!
My husband served in the USMC. Two guys, started to berate him for serving bashing the Marine Corps! My husband is a very calm laid-back guy! He let them carry on and one said to him " you know we're right " my husband looked at them and said bro whatever you have to tell yourself when others stand and serve! 😊
im not even watching your video I'm commenting 100% off the title ...... BEING AMERICAN IS UNIQUE !!!!! stop taking it for granted!!! it will be taken from you ......and subscibed!!! Thank you for your service!
The way it's filmed is similar to a montage in an action movie. I'm sure that's deliberate and appealing to those who want to be Marines. The marketing seems to match the target audience.
If Marines was a private company, I'd say they've done more to maintain their brand reputation over the centuries than most companies do over the decades.
My favorite marine commercial was the one with the dragon. Silly what these recruiters come up with. Even sillier what people will be suckered by, but agree the marines seem to be doing a better job at avoiding wokness.
True story: I'm a former active duty Marine combat veteran working as cadre for training AIT Army students at one of their MOS schools. Last week the battalion commander had an all-hands where he stated that "The new generation of recruits lack conflict resolution skills... The Army must adapt to the new generation of recruits." Since when does the military adapt to new recruits rather than make the new recruits adapt to the branch of service? As far as I've seen, the Army is stuck in the woke PC mindset and will be destroyed as a result.
Marine Corps has a massive advertising campaign I’m a US Army veteran and the Marine Corps it never crossed my mind because the army is just far superior in terms of MOS infantry, airborne rangers, etc. Marines go to Boot Camp and they become administrator pencil pusher’s😮
Well the Marine Corps does spend more then all branches combined for recruiting... but man there retention sucks lol... They also have the William Morris Ad agency and have had them on retainer for years....
Actually the retention numbers are way up over the past 2 years which has enabled the Marines to meet recruiting goals by reducing the number of recruits needed. .large number of re-ups during the first few months this year has already met 2023 goal for reenlistments. Focus is also being placed on retention by getting officers from the enlisted ranks.
I've always held a special reverence for the Marines, due to how the Pacific theater in the second world war shaped my then seven year old mind with all that old footage. There is nothing on this planet to convince me any other country has such a force that looks as sharp! I'm glad they're keeping with tradition. It bolsters my faith in our nation and our combined future. God knows, we may need them to answer the call one last time in the Pacific. They'll be true knights gearing up to slay a dragon.
Accurate WWII Pacific Theater history : the Army had 6 Corps and 22 Divisions in Theater while the Marines had 6 Divisions. More Sailors were killed at Guadalcanal than Marines, 5400 Sailors/1400 Soldiers plus Marines killed. By the way more Airmen were killed in WWII than Marines. No military branch is more important than any other branch we're a team trained and equipped for our mission set.
I've done a lot of stuff in my 43 years of life I'm really proud of....was even a 68W in the Army Reserves... but being a Marine (1833) and getting that Eagle, Globe and Anchor after the Crucible, was probably my proudest moment in life
You can definitely be a hard squad leader as a specialist in the army lol and honestly, I've had more E-5 squad leaders in the army than E-6 and I've literally never had an E-7 psg. In 4 years.
