@@Madhattersinjeans Gojo from JJK. He's a walking flex and disses absolutely everyone yet he's the strongest in the verse by a mile. He's also one of the most loved characters in anime/manga. It's not odd at all, it's personality and adds a cool factor to the character. They can talk shit and back it up, it's the same in combat sports. The highest grossing fights are the fights between people who can diss the hell out of each other and back up that talk by winning.
They could've turned yamcha into the coolest dbz character if they wanted to.. He's a cool looking character and his wolf style martial arts is fcking awesome! Too bad they turned him into trash

@@igable82 The episode with Goku and Piccolo driving was anime filler yeah, but the scene where Goku is driving Chichi and Gohan and he turns on the radio to hear Cell killing the army guys was in the manga. It's where they show him driving the van with joysticks.
Considering everything she says about Dragonball (likes DB more than DBZ, enjoys the slice of life/silly stuff a lot, likes that Gohan is a responsible adult etc.), Marine really needs to watch DB Super, cause I think she'd really enjoy it.

To be fair, it wasn't that quick. In the first series he appeared as a strong contender, by the end of it he was kinda outclassed but still could fight with stronger people. In z, he only got killed because the sibaiman made a suicide attack while he was distracted. The androids arc was the first time he was defeated without him being abel to even fight back, and it went downhill rom there
All saiyans married into rich families, Goku married the daughter of Ox king (he made his fortune by litterally pillaging but ok), Vegeta married the inheritor of Capsule Corp, and Gohan married the daughter of the world most famous fighter

For real tho, Goku gave that senzu bean to Cell for a fair fight as said, plus he knew Gohan can beat Cell (since Gohan did ascend to ssj2 in the HTC for a split second and where Goku got the idea of Gohan being stronger than him) it was just that he didn't know Gohan doesn't like fighting until Piccolo pointed it out, luckily 16 gave him the confidence to let his anger out and ascending the level above super saiyan
yamcha eating a senzu bean to die again is one of the best parts of DBZ. It's like having a penny every time he dies. You'd have two, which is not much but it's surprising to let it happen twice

So even Japanese fans find the Senzu beans scene controvesal. I do think what made Goku's decision more nuanced rather than plain bad, is that it comes from his genuine belief that Gohan is better and can beat Cell at full power. It's not malicious, but rather a positive, but misunderstood, faith toward his son.
Besides that if Cell wasn't healed back up Gohan wouldn't have gone SSJ2 due to not being pushed, Cell probably would've been spammed Zenkai boosts, Cell wins
Yea, the explanation of needing someone to push Gohan to the point of breaking makes the most sense. Considering Future Gohan didnt get to that level and died to not even Cell.
Piccolo spends so much time in the HBT it's actually really unclear how old he is nowadays. Honestly same with Goku/Vegeta considering how much time they spent there in Super.
@@amethonys2798 he's only gone there twice. we can generalize his age. during db, he's 3. during raditz and vegeta invasion, he's like 9. during namek he's still that age since he died. during android arc he's 12. then after that he's 19+

@@amethonys2798 oops, my bad, I thought piccolo used it twice in the way vegeta used it twice. canonically, piccolo used it once in the entire series being the cell games. but for all we know, he may have used it more off screen. however, that's probably all during his adulthood so it doesn't matter. the arcs when he was age wise a shounen, he didn't use them too much.

She does make a point. I'm not defending what he did cause without warning anyone, everyone that saw what goku did, saw it as super stupid. But to him it was a necessary means to an end to push gohan to his peak as cell was a threat that he MUST defeat. Gohan did eventually did what goku wanted and got stronger, so I feel as though the mixed reactions from the senzu bean, the knowledge of cell and his spawn being stronger and 16's sacrifice was all needed to be able to get stronger to super saiyan 2.

Did the senzu bean even do anything looking back at it in retrospect? I mean at the time, yes, it was a rather bad move to fully restore Cell with the senzu bean, but wouldn't it have came to the same conclusion even if Goku didn't give Cell the Senzu bean since no one would've been strong enough to completely decimate Cell.
What I find amazing is that she can remember all those scenes from manga like DB, HxH and etc with such accuracy as if they came out yesterday, I saw the cell saga like 5 times and I don't remember what Gohan said much less Vegueta
I remember most lines like that, but I've watched the cell saga and most sagas in DBZ a little too much. Except the Saiyan saga. I didn't watch that one too much.
