Note: During the flush cycle, you can follow the measured decibel value per second on the display. The sound level measurement we take starts at a value of 50 dB and is measured until the point at which the decibel value falls below 50 dB again.

🚽🧻 How loud is an electric marine toilet flush?
A boat toilet system is somewhat different to the one you use at home. Noise levels of toilets above 30dB are generally considered too loud. Unlike household toilets, basic sea toilets feature a chopper pump for macerating solid waste and an impeller pump for flushing seawater through the toilet. These types of toilet can produce loud noises of up to 91 dB when flushed.
Nowadays, most modern electric sea toilets feature state-of-the-art technology and an extremely quiet motor makes for far more pleasant flushing. These modern on-board toilets are fitted with large macerator pumps with powerful but quiet motors.
So as not to sacrifice the comfort of your home-like toilet, manufacturers offer electric toilets for boats with a pump integrated into the bowl and extras such as a matching soft-close lid. These comfort toilets are available with a larger toilet seat than usual small boat toilets with macerators. The noise level of these toilets is comparable to that of a normal household toilet, since here, as is usual, water consumption and energy consumption depend on the flushing time, which can be determined quite simply by pressing the flush button.
