Here's an overview of the electronics upgrades we'll be doing aboard Boogaboo, including all new Garmin navigation equipment. I was very happy to be working with Raytech.ca (raytech.ca/en/) in procuring our brand new Garmin Plotter (GPSMAP® 923xsv), Garmin 18" Radar (GMR™ 18 HD+ Radome) , Garmin Finder (STRIKER™ Vivid 5cv).
If you are in the market fro marine electronics (and much more), get in touch with Greg at Raytech (greg@raytech.ca) to see how he can help you out. Be sure to mention the Boogaboo Crew to get your best deal.
As well, I'll be swapping out the existing Raythen VHF radio with my trusty Standard Horizon radio. Those units & more will be mounted in all new dash panels from Searay-Parts.com.
It's going to be an awesome upgrade that I am really looking forward to sharing with you!!

Paul I've been following you fr the past 2 years. I purchased a 2000 sea ray 310 Sundancer in 2020. Its been somewhat of a disaster lost the starboard transmission on my first trip home after purchase and almost all of last year was spent trying to fix many problems. I appreciate you videos and have followed and tried many repairs myself. This winter I had al new electronics installed Garmin 8610 XSV and new Garmin GMR18 Fantom 18" Radar along with a new camper top. I'm hoping for a better year with the boat. I enjoy your excitement with your new boat. I hope everything goes as planned. Thanks again for all of you tips. Be safe in 2022

Great choices Paul. I did the same project on my 340 Amberjack last season. I changed out all the old, tired, mismatched electronics and went 100% Garmin. I was a Simrad fan prior, but very thankful that I made the move to Garmin. The only difference, I added a Garmin auto-pilot which I’ll never be without, and a Garmin VHF as I wanted everything to be connected through my NEMA backbone. I replaced all new dash panels through Flounder Pounder and went as far as replacing my steering wheel as well. The helm looks amazing and I’m sure yours will as well. We really enjoy your videos and congratulations on the new boat.

Given that I'll be removing the existing electronics, should make it a bit easier, as all.powwer connections are already in place. The only challenge might be pulling the wires for the radar up and through the arch.

Looks like an awesome upgrade plan. When you get this stuff in and setup, please consider a demo of your favorite screens and functions. I see demos and get swamped with ALL the features they "can do". I'd like to see the "go to" screens a user like yourself likes and uses. I know I have screen setup that I like and stick to it. Take care.

Paul, check out garmin Nema back bone set up. Its very simple to leave the other manufacturers wiring alone and run a simple back bone set up with power and tee's for your new equipment including the standard horizon. They will automatically see each other when you power up the units. No need for black box link, this should give you secondary navigation if main screen goes down. Cheers

Are the replacement woodgrain panels you're going to install from Sea Ray or aftermarket? Several years ago, I replaced my woodgrain dash panel as the original from 1997 was faded, brittle, and pieces were cracked near the fasteners. I purchased a panel from Flounder Pounder Marine and it was a material that was guaranteed not to fade, crack, etc. It was expensive but the results were worth every penny in my opinion. The added bonus was all the switch functions were etched in English vs. symbols.
