The "Lone Marine", SSgt Tim Chambers (Ret.) stands tall and salutes during Rolling Thunder 2011 in Washington, D.C. Original news story is here on MyFoxDC: www.myfoxdc.com/dpp/news/local...
@@mitthenub6050 Must be upset no one will ever care to put a statue up for him. Lmfao, if you disappeared off the face of this planet today, not a single person would care.
When I shot and helped produce this story with my reporter, I was most impressed with his endurance and commitment to honor his country. He was a very humble man.
@Jakub Lakomski I suppose asking you to stand period is a bit much of an ask... While you sit on the couch try keeping your arm raised in a salute for more than 10 minutes.
As a Navy Veteran, I shed a tear EVERYTIME I see this Warrior Standing Tall, and I send him and ALL Veterans a Heartfelt SALUTE. Thank you all for serving in the Armed Forces. SSgt Tim Chambers is a True HERO in my Heart.
+Analogmp3 You don't know how many times I walk to work in my NWUs which clearly says US NAVY on it and the guy i see all the time a long the way call me "Army Boy" or "Soldier Boy" lol. I can't complain because he still recognized me but I wish he would get it right, Sailor not Soldier lol.
+Analogmp3 I'm guessing they are using the term in the general sense. In most armed forces use of the word 'soldier' has taken on a more general meaning due to the increasing specialization of military occupations that require different areas of knowledge and skill-sets. As a result, 'soldiers' are referred to by names or ranks which reflect an individual's military occupation specialty arm, service, or branch of military employment, their type of unit, or operational employment or technical use such as: trooper, tanker (a member of tank crew), commando, dragoon, infantryman, marine, paratrooper, grenadier, ranger, sniper, engineer, sapper, signaller, medic, or a gunner.
@@linroth7345 It's a meme. In one Call of Duty game, there was a supposedly ver "touching" funeral of a soldier. In the cutscene was the command to "Press F to pay respects". Search "Know Your Meme" for it.
This is the most powerful, most BEAUTIFUL thing I have seen in a long time. God bless this man and his awesome family who obviously did it right. God bless America and God bless our heroes!
agreed! drives me up a fuckin' wall when people cant get our branches correct. i can understand if it's a kid, but an adult who probably does it on purpose, is irritating as fuck. much respect to all Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coasties, as welll as my fellow Soldiers.
I would like to thank all veterans who serve and who served this great country of ours. Words can not express how much I and every American owe the men and women both living and those who have passed for allowing the freedom that is taken for granted each and every day. As Winston Churchill said: 'Never have so many owed so much to so few.' Thank you to all of America's Veterans!!
+pim1234 Canadian 2nd Infantry Division, British 52nd (Lowland) Division and 4th Special Service Brigade save you yet you salute mericans? You are dutch but you aint much... Pitiful and sad.

This is respect that no-one outside of the military can ever know. I am from South Africa and understand the pride and respect that is shown world wide by servicemen and women.

Knowing so many US Marines I can see SSGT Tim Chambers hanging there through the entire time. He is not only my heroe from his selfless servi8ce to Our Country, but for giving of himself for this event. His parents must be so proud and we all should be of him and all our men and woman in service. GOD BLESS SSGT TIM CHAMBERS!!!
Semper Fi. Thank you, SSgt Tim Chambers, from this NorCal USCG Mom and niece of WWII Marine still alive from Iwo Jima landing at 17. God Bless You and Yours
I thank you for you appreciation, on behalf of my son{who now serves in my beloved Marine Corps}, myself, my father, my grandfather, and all my great grandfathers back to my name sake, who signed up in 1775, and joined the Continental Army in Orange county N.Y. . You could say, it's a family tradition. Your very welcome,
Wow. Definitely worth the story and this Marine is an exemplary member of the veteran community. He demonstrates what many veterans would love to follow him in to demonstrate our love for this country. Ssgt. Chambers, Semper Fi
Sitting here bawling my eyes out. He’s def a legend and his dedication is beyond words. When the gentleman ran over to give him some aspirin and water I really about lost it.
I thank your family as well as yourself for your service to our country. Your family history as well as service is what made and continues to make this country free. I can never get tired of saying thank you those who served and who serve now. America's Veterans will always be heroes to me!
To the men and women who have served, we are a brotherhood and Sisterhood that very few people have the honor of. We are Soldiers, Sailors, Air Force, Marine and Coast Guard. We are active duty and reserve and then have the honor of being called a Veteran. This Marine is one bad ass individual.
All my respect to SSgt Tim Chambers you show just what it is to honor those who have fallen by doing that for 3 hours you and all others are true heros my book SEMPER FI
Semper Fei Staff Sergeant Chambers you are an example of the excellence, honour and respect of the U.S Marines and doing that on a broken wrist I can not imagine the pain you went through. As a Canadian I thank you for your service as a Marine in the line of duty and I salute you for you honourable service standing watch for rolling thunder.
"when it was apparent this soldier was in pain." he's not a Soldier. he is a Marine! there's a difference! and im sure any Marines out there would say the same thing. i may be Army, but i have much respect.
This nation is blessed to have true dedicated men and women willing to sacrifice their very lives so that we can be free. Semper fidelis "Always Faithful". God I love my U.S.A Amen.
There aren't words to express the gratitude that we need to show to our men and women in uniform. As a Navy vet, I am humbled by this Marine and so many many more like him. God bless and protect our troops

Having been invited to ride to the wall in '97 it was one of my most treasured memories to be part of such an amazing gathering of like people. As for the lone Marine, may God bless him and his family. L/C John Hodges 5th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment Vietnam 66/67 And a special thank you to all my friends from the 173 Airborne Brigade As we say DOWN UNDER, TOGETHER FOREVER.
God bless this extraordinary Marine. And all those who served or are currently defending our nation against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Hoorah!

If Half The People In America Had His Honor Loyalty & Respect For His & Our Country . America Could Be Strong Again , Wake Up People We Need To Stand Together If That's Ever Going To Happen .
+I Hate You How is being the most powerful country in the world not being strong? I don't want to be anywhere near you when China overtakes your economy, the shock might send you all into a murderous rampage.
I Hate You *You're and trying to be a tough guy over the internet is hilarious, I'm clearly not the only comedian here. You've used love twice when referring to me, are you that smitten by me?
I Hate You Projecting your sexual insecurities, awesome. I have to stop replying to you because fucking with you is like torturing a baby squirrel. A very easy and utterly pointless task.
OORAH Staff Sergeant Chambers! Every time I watch this video it makes my hairs stand up. When they talk about the embodiment of our institutional core values of Honor, Courage & Commitment, they are talking about you. Semper Fidelis Brother!
This is an amazing Veteran .. God Bless Him .. Stand Tall Marine and Thank You for you Military Service, More should join him next year of course he would have the lead.
You're not "only a Army veteran", God bless you for your service, too. My dad was Army, served Korean War, and I am civilian serving Army programs. I'm proud to serve those who serve, and am grateful for all of you who are willing to stand and serve for our freedom. I salute you, Sir.
I am a former Marine and I certainly understand how he feels standing for three hours is hard enough but with a broken wrist that's saying something. May God blesI
Thank you for the freedom we have an everyone that stands up to fight for this wonderful country we have wish everyone in USA wood stand together has one 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Military personnel have my deepest respect to begin with. THIS man, honoring the MIA/POW in this way truly has also added hero status to my admiration. THREE HOURS with a broken UNSET wrist! WOW!
That man should be a reminder to all who call themselves AMERICANS. Freedom is never Free. Men like him are what being An American is all about. Duty, Honor, Country. SEMPER FI MARINE! You make me proud to call you a Fellow American Veteran.
Thank you SSGT Chambers for reminding us all who and what the real "American Idols" are. The people who stood up for this great nation. I hope and pray that more people will think about this the next time the see an American Veteran. God bless and keep you and all our brave men and women who fought and are still fighting for our freedom.
