so my family is from zacatecas. a few years back my neighbors had a guy rent a house from them. they didn’t know anything about him other than he was former military. then one day a few trucks from the local cartel there pulled up to the house and told the guy to come out. he started shooting at them and more trucks arrived. the gun fight lasted for about 40 minutes and when they heard the military was coming, the cartel ran off and left a bunch of wounded there. apparently the guy killed like 15 of them and they didn’t get him. they tried to storm the house he would throw grenades at them. the entire house was riddled with bullet holes but luckily the house walls were thick enough that the bullets didn’t penetrate. the guy left and we didn’t know anything about him. i like to think that was the crazy marine, but i don’t know.
