For those that may not know some of the details. From the moment that flag is draped over the casket, that marine is not alone until he is laid to rest. It may be a day, a week, whatever. But a fellow Marine will be there with the fallen 24hrs a day. That's respect.
Another fallen but not forgotten. as a veteran ..I feel the pain of the family...his body is gone but his spirit is alive and is with you everyday. gufs
I can’t speak for everyone else but I shed tears when the brave women and men sacrifice their lives for us. This is what America is built upon. Never leave a man behind. I thank you for your service. I thank you for protecting our country.
I may be an Australian and live in Australia, but I hold the American Military in the highest of regards, Thank you for your sacrifice not only to your country but also to mine. God Bless you all.

As a Marine Mom 2 sons in Marines, I lost 1 in 2014, always proud of him, my condolences to his family, They did their best and will forever be in our hearts. Sempri Fi. I love and still miss you terribly Dustin.
Im sorry for your lose, but you will see him when leave this world. I believe our most loved one will be the first we see to help make the scary trip easier.
I am a Vietnam Marine Veteran, it’s been 54 years since I wore the uniform but my heart goes out to the families of our fallen Marines. It breaks my heart that these young people die so soon. Rest in Peace Marine & Semper Fi
It rained because the Nation mourned the loss of a hero. The rain stopped when this Marine took his post guarding heaven's gate. Forever an American Hero. For eternity, God's Marine!
Stand down Marine. You are relieved. We have the Watch. Got to your rest. Your brothers that have gone before you, wait for you in Valhala.-HM2(FMF)USN-Ret.
I was in the Marines and had the honor of being the escort for my friends last flight home. He was killed in Afghanistan and from Dover Airfield to California the respect that people showed who did not know him was unbelievable. Airports coming to a silence to people crying for a fallen Marine they never met. I just want to thank everyone who showed my friend the respect he deserved.
If i die in a war zone, Box me up and send me home, Put my medals in my chest, Tell my mom i did my best, Tell my dad not to bow, He won’t get tension from me now, Tell my brother to study perfectly, Keys of my bike will be his permanently, Tell my sis not to be upset, Her bro will not rise after this sunset, Tell my love not to cry, “BECAUSE I AM A SOLDIER BORN TO DIE” Ctto
Retired disabled veteran. If I'm on a flight and there is a brother or sister below deck if anybody starts raising Cane or tries to get off that plane before my brother or sister is offloaded and in the transport they will have to take me off the plane and probably ban me for life
This was a man who didn't chase fame, fortune or high times. He trained hard to serve, his brothers, his family and his country. He did the best he could, he gave all he had. The people who gave this thumbs down will never know the love and honor we hold this man and his family in. They will never have strangers willing to stand in the rain and cold for them. I hope someday they understand shame.
I understand that this was many years ago...I am balling my eyes out watching this. I cant even imagine what this was truly like for your family....but thank you for your loved ones service to our great country and may your loved one rest in peace!!!
So powerful! The look on the face of his mother broke me down. No one should ever have to endure such a loss. I'm a USMC veteran and that grief could have very easily been on my mom's face. God bless this family and everyone in the USMC family! RIP my brother!
Haven’t seen this video yet. I’ve worn Tran’s name on my wrist ever since he passed. What a great dude. I always sucked at hiking, but he was always right there in the front of the column even though he was one of the shorter guys in our unit. Humbling to the highest degree in my eyes
As a British Brother I have came here to pay my respects to these fallen marines my deepest condolences go to his family may he rest easy in the sky watching from above Semper Fi
@@samexoldx Right you aren't forced to do anything, but shouldn't that fact that you are not in North Korea or any other backwards repressive state for that matter be enough reason want to respect the United States and the flag. Take it from an Immigrant, many have no idea what it is like living in the rest of the world and what blessings you are afforded as Americans. And many more still do not appreciate that those privileges of American life are not given but earned and preserved by many who sacrificed more than can be imagined for the cushy life people within the bubble take for granted.
As a Vietnam vet who experienced a very hurtful unwelcome home back in 1970 after spending voluntarily 3 years active duty, 27 months stomping around in rice paddies, this video and others like it, often bring tears to my eyes. The conditions of my return home to San Francisco International Airport of 1 Dec 1970 are still burning into my heart and soul and no amount of scrubbing has been able over these past 47 years has removed this burn, I don't see it changing. VVA motto is “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.” I try to get over it, all my brothers from Vietnam and Korea have been working at getting over it. Not easy and I will continue to greet, thank, hug, appreciate each and every member of any branch of our military service, active duty and veteran and express my utmost appreciation and thanks.
My father now 87 is a retired SgtMaj with 30 years in the Marines and 2 tours in Vietnam. I did 4 years in the 80's but never went to combat. I want to thank you for your service to this nation. I'm so sorry to hear the stories of how our veterans were treated back then. I wish it was different and I wish I could have been there to welcome you home. Semper Fi!
RIP Marine! I lost several friends in Afghanistan & Iraq. This video was put together with much class. I never got to see what happens on the receiving end after my comrades left the country as we had to continue the mission. God Bless our Marines & Semper Fi! Andrew Gibson, Same here mate. So sad to see what the outcome can be from the sacrifice people make to their country. May they Rest In Peace and may god protect his soul.
Thanks for giving condolences for the family and by the way. The Marine Corps are its own branch under administration from the Navy under the US armed forces. In the US we call them Marines. The Army is a branch of the US armed forces. We call them Soldiers. Army=Soldier Marine Corps=Marine
Being the wife of a retired Marine He once told me that if it rains when a soldier is brought home, the rain that falls are the silent tears of all those who did not return,,as well Once a soldier always a brother ,,Rest in Peace Thank you for your service

After spending a large part of my life serving seeing these final homecomings still gets the emotions welling deeply. Had to say farewell to a few comrades and will never forget them. Goodnight Chesty wherever you are. Semper Fi..
wish someone would remember our Older Hero marine who served 30 yrs thru last of Japan, Korea,2Tours of Vietnam now their senior Widow left to struggle to make it financially or physically
I was in an honor guard while in the Navy and it was my honor to perform the duties required. I always teared up when our commanding officer presented the folded flag to a family member. I, as a child, (my father did three tours) knew many men who served in Vietnam and didn’t make it home. God bless all who served.
It looks like many pacifists who never served their country watched this and left a thumbs down. This man is a hero, he died for you and me and his fellow marines. Thank You!
Sometimes a thumbs up may feel like some some is happy he passed because thumbs up usually means i like this. But a thumb down can mean sadness. O, some people just don't have a heart. I sometimes put a thumb down for something sad. I hope this clarifies but im sure some were feeling the way you described in your comment.
How is he a hero? How did he die for you or anyone else for that? He went abroad to fight in an illegal war and no doubt killed innocent people. He's no hero.
Honestly I dont think people disliked the video are pacifists. I felt seriously uncomfortable watching it. This family have lost a loved one and have some guy sticking a camera in their face
R.I.P and thank you for serving our country! Hãy yên nghĩ, cám ơn anh phục vụ cho Quốc Gia thứ hai này. Xin chia buồn đến gia đình cố Hạ Sĩ Thủy Quân Lục Chiến Hoa Kỳ Denny Trần Đoàn.
To all those who have served and to those who are still serving, God bless you. To those who have paid the ultimate price Rest In Peace. You will never be forgotten
This should be shown is all schools. This is a good send off and one that school children should see.. Teach them to respect all service men alive or dead. ty for posting this.
In the USA perhaps, but here in Ireland/UK history has brought division and hatred. Our soldiers murdered at the hands of terrorists and now the political wings seeking to prosecute our soldiers for doing their duty and protecting civilians from many issues. So history.... what have we learnt from it... just how to kill more efficiently. History should teach us moral values and how not to commit acts of violence against mankind. Just saying.... plus war... look at the grief of that young woman. that's the truth about war and what history does. No one seems to learn from it. .... again just saying!!
In that comment you are so right. There are so many fallen Marines and footage on you tube it brings home the misery suffered by so many. It makes me more thankful for my safe and secure life.
As a brit we always appreciate the sacrifice of our american brothers that fight so bravely for the worlds freedoms. I wish our own soildiers were treated as well as yours are . We stand together always 🇬🇧🇺🇸
GIves me chills. The airport fire department out there with all of their lights going, and standing in line with their hands over their hearts - such an honorable thing to do. I once read something - I don't recall if it was true or just a story. The plane landed and was at the gate, but no one was getting off. This woman started complaining, until another passenger told her they were bringing the body of soldier home, and he deserved the honor of coming off of the plane first. After that, the woman stopped griping.
That woman sounds like my loser stepmom. She was such an uppity self righteous Bitch, that would've behaved just like you stated. What a self centered thoughtless uncaring piece of shit.
I read a very similar story, if not the same. Passengers were complaining that they weren't being allowed off of a plane. However, this one family was allowed to disembark first. Passengers were yelling and booing. The flight captain came over the speaker and announced the family was allowed off first so they can help escort their fallen soldier (or Marine) from below to the hearse. I bet all the passengers felt ignorant.
If I am told that we have a fallen soldier onboard then I would totally understand and be respectful, but if nobody told me, I would get mad at the fact that nobody told me before I would feel ignorant. If nobody told me, how am I supposed to know? Tell me this important information before even taking off on the flight.
Neko Paste i get where you are coming from because even though those people might have been complaining about getting off the plane I bet if they knew from the beginning they would have been respectful
Brings tears to my eyes, I feel for his family, and want to hug them saying; may God give you peace of mind and strenght 😘 and for your son and brother, I'd like to say; thank you for your service, marine, soldier, son and brother Amen
I remember the first time I did a funeral detail. I took it very seriously. Some of the other soldiers were annoyed that they got their weekend taken from them. Once we did the funeral detail and the family came up to us to shake our hands and talk about their soldier crying those young soldiers realized it was bigger than them. They said after seeing the families pain they all felt extremely guilty for complaining. When the same group of young soldiers were placed on another funeral detail not once did I hear them complain. They took it extremely serious and professional. Sometimes you just need to see someone’s pain to get a reality check.
Amen to that brother , someday they will be gone too , and the live will stay at where they are ..... and in the end they will remember ... that what they sacrifice for ...
Wow. What a handsome young man. What a beautiful boy. As an American, I am extremely proud of you and grieve the loss of such a brilliant part of our country. My heart goes out to his family.
I'm 58 years old and I don't cry ever but this brought a tear to my eye, The pure emotion of his family and the respect shown to this marine did it, RIP Marine may you sleep well now your duty is done. 🌹🌹
He actually died in a fucking motorcycle accident pal, and he was a great fucking guy. He had nothing to do with what’s going on in the Middle East so how about you shut the fuck up. He was just a good friend that passed too early. Keep your stupid fucking political bullshit to yourself
This was beautiful, raw and gut wrenching. Thank you Denny for your service and sacrifice!♥️🤍💙 Thank You to all men & women who chose to serve and protect our wonderful country!! ♥️🤍💙
I just came across this video. Truly sad that America lost one of its finest in the service to this nation. During my time in the USMC during the Vietnam War, I saw this happen all to often to fellow Marines; my friends. Now I am reminded of that pain of not being able to share life with them. Instead I sense a deep loss; just as I sense the same thing for this young Marine who was just beginning his life. We lost a tremendous amount of potential coming from this young Marine like so many who fell before him. Duty, Honor and Country; he served this nation well. SEMPER FI fellow Marine.
These videos always tear my heart 😞😞😞🙏🙏🙏may u rest well warrior my deepest condolences to his family and thank u sir for services always remember why we r free this is ur answer 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My son was in Iraq. I thank God every day that I do not hold a folded flag. ANY person who disrespects our Flag has NEVER been handed a folded one.....This brave man was not fighting for HIS freedom; he was fighting for the freedom of other people in other lands. THAT is called TRUE Heroism.....May God rest his immortal soul.
As a veteran and member of a American Honor Guard that has participated in over 950 military funerals I have seen many tears over the years. This video brought tears to my eyes, God Bless America.
@@o0ooo0 You're the type of person to hate any country that does any sort of action to keep their country alive. Its been written in the art of war and in human nature to take what you need to survivie, a government is the same way. If we needed oil, we're gonna take it, like any other country would that has the power to take it. Gurantee whatever country you're in, if they had the power to topple a government and take what your country needed to survive. They would.
The greatest pain ever in my life. When one of my brothers or sisters has fallen. 🇺🇸POW/MIA🇺🇸 *You are not forgotten.* Liberty. Constitution. Republic.
This is so very sad and so beautiful at the same time, so very proud of his service and that beautiful flag that covers him. The marines all looked so good in uniforms
I'm from Scotland but I love everything about America the people, the cities and they know how to honour their fallen. God bless this soldier and his family.
Gordon, I think we know how to honour and respect our own fallen as well. Perhaps you haven't lost anyone in the services but I can assure you they are remembered with appropriate respect and their sacrifice is acknowledged.
alphacharlie65ms. These young men aren't doing anything remotely having to do with "our freedom." I WISH people would GET INFORMED as to what is actually going on in the world around them rather than just engaging in this cheap sloganeering and mouthing some worthless platitude dreamed up by those who don't want you to know what's really going on!
MiSchreffler. He was fighting "so we don't have to" (!?) What the HELL does that mean? WHY should we (anyone) "HAVE" to be fighting right now? Who is attacking us? What are we doing fighting in nations' which have not declared war on us, or harmed us in any way? You do realize that ALL of the conflicts we are now embroiled in are a direct result of the initial, illicit attack/invasion/occupation/destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan which were committed on the back of a pack of LIES, right!? Which led directly to the fiascos in Egypt, Libya, and Syria? Which gave rise to Al Qaeda, Al Nusra, and ISIS? And all of these conflicts were drummed up by a handful of criminal political traitors who used the chaos to attack our constitutional guarantees, protections, and civil liberties thereby creating a fearful, locked-down society inching towards a full-blown police state every single day. THAT is where our true THREAT resides. NOT in some cave or desert 7000 miles away!
Marky Mark. Then you're already ahead of the game by realizing you're not fighting for "Freedom," but for the personal and political whims of a handful of criminal politicians. Good for you! 👍
Don't fall for the BS Marky Mark. Those who would have you believe you do not fight for freedom would also have you fight for Anarchy and subject you to Communism. Democrats gave an undeserved victory to North Viet Nam, and Democrats armed ISIS. RINOs conspire with them.
I as an American am saddened by the loss of PVT Tran and pray for his family. I am honored at the dignity, respect, and pride in the U S Marines at their obvious respect for their obvious respect for their fallen brother.

Due to my rank Senior Chief, i was tasked with meeting a fallen Sailor being flown in. I witnessed his welcome off the aircraft as i saluted him. Then to make that dreadful drive to his home to inform his family at 10pm...his Mom. And a few days latervat his funeral, presented the flag to her for his service. I never wanted to do that again but would to pay honor. Remember those that served but more so, today, remember those who gave all..
