Many Greek songs are based on poetry, poetry used to be really important to us Greeks enabling us to dream and to connect more deeply since our history is complicated yet we value the importance of language, of conveying meanings.
BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE GREEK MUSIC WONDERFUL SONG AND GREAT GUITAR PLAYING MOST TALENTED AND ROMANTIC TWO OF THE BEST SINGERS GREAT VOICES DALARAS MARINELLA MOST POETIC
@@anastasiayolo2980 I know her songs inside out dear. I mean, is that a good one to request he reacts to in the future? I am also thinking of some recital stuff with Hatzis, ego kai esi, some stuff now that she is 83-85, some stuff with Kazantzidis, some power ballard songs like Kamia fora, Den einai por fevgeis, and some disco/dance themed ones too. Eg: Simera, Kalitera etc.
ITS A GREEK LANGUAGE WITH THE TWO BEST ARTIST IN GREECE CALLED MY BELOVED A LOVE SONG ABOUT TWO PEOPLE IN LOVE WITH OUT END THEY WILL NEVER DEPART SO POETIC LIKE MANY GREEK SONGS
Originally sang by the great Dulce Pontes in Portuguese and by Andrea Bocceli in Italian. But one must admit that Marinella is perhaps the most great voice in Greece along with Tzeni Vanou. And of course Dalaras is another great performer.
@diefuhrerin1388 No doubt she is one of the best but her genre is more of anatolian greek laiko along with Glikeria. However, Tzeni Vanou and Marinella both are at the top with pure laiko and greek jazz.
I am so glad you reacted to another of my requests brother. I believe this is your 3rd reaction to Marinella now (Known as the great lady of song in Greece). Giorgos Dalaras (Pronounced like Yor- Goss) it the best selling Greek singer of all time and often tours around the world doing concerts all over. Both amazing artists! For those of you who don't know, this song was originally sung by Andrea Bocelli and Portuguese Fado singer Dulce Pontes. Also an amazing version! 🙂
Brother you ar a great, cultured musician! The way you go beyond cultural barriers and you appreciate Greek songs (or italian in this case), songs so foreign to your culture, they way you repeat the vibratos and coloraturas' of two foremost Greek singers, attests to the fact that you are a great, cultured musician!
All those “vibrates” at the end of the words It’s from the Bizantine notes 🎶. Completely different from the western music. Giorgos Dalaras is singing in italic language.
The Latin alphabet, that Italian language and others use, comes from the ancient Greek city called Kymi. Many Greeks still live in Italy, especially in the southern parts. Italians named the south Italy "Big Greece" Maybe that's why you confused. Dalaras sings in 100% Greek language,as Marinela does too!
You reacted to my request of 'Enough is Enough', by Donna & Tina. I'm a 1st generation Australian, Greek heritage & whoever led U down this rabbit hole, I'm loving it.
@@bluefingered161 Yes, agree. For me is Dalaras, Kazantzidis, Kotsiras, Parios & Voskopoulos also amazing! And female Marinella, Tzeni Vanou, Glykeria and Haris Alexiou.
You gotta listen to the original one and make a review by Dulce Pontes and Andrea Bocceli - O mare e tu. That's the original one. It refers to the sea (O mare) which is in fact the Meditteranean sea. Dulce Pontes is Portuguese, Andrea Bocceli Italian. So you have also the Greek version of it in the review you did here.
The untranslated part of the lyrics is Italian (weird that they chose to just keep it untranslated in the English subs of just saying (Italian) in the beginning or something).
@@deanamcdougall7192 Ohhh wow. I wad there in July 2022. Love the Tsipouradika and mezedes. Wow! also love the few cute beaches with cliffs, and places like amfissos and makrinitsa. Was it easy to move?
@@chrisofmelbourne87 Hi there,I came over with my fiance and never returned.I love Scotland but growing up O knew I didn't belong there,so it wasn't so hard to love Greece
the middle easterners copied the Greek style. A Jewish waiter once told me, All of middle eastern music is from Greek Ancient Egypt has a little style of their own.
Give a try to another duet Mario Frangoulis & Lara Fabian - All Alone Am I . and one more dramatic song here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eNgVdj4M4KM.html with English subs
