Hi Martin i have seen your video of the VW 1.9 tdi that you have marinized lots of respect the way you have done the conversion . my question is did you use engine with electronic systhem ,because they told me not use that type of engine but only engine with mechanical pump
Thank you. I removed electronics and used a Rover 200 or 300 TDI mechanical injector pump, bigger injectors and a turbo from a Mercedes 300D. BTW, I sold the engine but kept the manifold and may be selling it if you are interested.

I am thinking to buy complete old car vw passat 1.9 tdi engine 130 hp build 2004 ,the problem is that i have to change the engine in mechanical fuel pump ,you dont think i cant get the engine running as it is ,i want to use the ecu what is with the engine .
@@EngineEngineer not exactly the same; lower; a marine thermostat is different than a street one,and that is ONE mod. one MUST do when marinizing street engines,finding a marine thermostat that fits,not always easy,but not to forget...
The manifold is a Bowman vw150. Dont know if they make them anymore but you can google it. Because its a closed cooling system it uses a thermostat - just like a car. As far as exhaust gases being too hot that depends on air/fuel but, if anything, the gasses may be too cool due to water cooled manifold.
hi, have you installed that engine in to the boat yet? i have same manifold in my 2002 tdi engine and i wonder how you installed turbo and is exhaust warming too much when you drive full speed?
tuomas welling unfortunately I have not got mine in the water yet. Too many projects. It is in the boat though and running it on the stand it seemed to run very cool. Is yours running hot?
tuomas welling turbo is mounted on a flange that is welded to a pipe and then another flange. Its a very small opening so I dont know how well its gonna spool up under a load.
Martin Freeman yes i have cruise about 20hours without turbo and it works well, but i only get about 12knots with my 6.5m fjord. so i was thinking that im installing turbo, and i think turbo raises exhaust temperature so is that aluminium manifold going to melt?
