What's up A reminder that this is a level editor tutorial, NOT a MB64 ROM setup tutorial. There's an extensive guide linked in the description, as well as a video guide on this. With that said, I hope this video helps you. Cheers! o/
It is mindblowing how simple it is to build a course. This is literally the perfect 3D course Toolbox. The only thing we need now is more Gamestyles like Sunshine and Odyssey. They should be relatively easy to incorporate since you collect shine Sprites and Moons just like in Mario 64. But that is up to Nintendo if they ever do a 3D Maker Game.
Thanks for this tutorial! I have this rom running on my RG351V and it runs great. For anyone using this on handheld devices, I'd strongly suggest checking (not changing) the controls mapping in Retroarch. Mine required me to press and hold R3 trigger to simulate the absent right control stick.
I have a question, i see in other mario builders 64 that theres coins counter, A Star Counter and koopa the quick time displayer, I dont have that and would like that on my level, Im playing, Not on N-64 HARD Wear, cant find where the option is in setting, can you help? Have a great day thanks again this is really great, hack!!!
I'm not quite sure whats up but, your version of Mario Builder 64 has some objects that in my rom there arent. Like Koopa the Quick or Bowser, and instead of Wing caps and Metal caps there are Vanetal caps and Rocket boots. Any idea why this is and where i can get the rom file with the original Mario 64 elements?
Ah that could be because you selected the "Cursed Mirror" mode when starting to create the level, which has all these different power ups, badges and replaces Bowser with a new boss. If you want to make use of Bowser, you will have to select "Vanilla" mode
You navigate through the letters with the analog stick, type in a letter with A and delete one with B. You also have this information at the bottom of the naming screen
Save & exit will create a level file for your creation, which will appear on the levels list when you select "Play Level" on the main menu. If you just want to play it while on the editor, go over to "Settings" and select "Play level", as shown in the video
