Well fun fact this song shares a sample with a song called Blind 2 See by Skankfunk, now as to why this matters is because Skankfunk was the alias of Hideki Naganuma, most famous for his work on Jet Set Radio, Sega Rally, Sonic Rush, and Jet Set Radio Future. So yes it does have that sega feel
Fun Fact The lyrics were originally from an anime called AIR GEAR made by SEGA's very own Hideki Naganuma/Skankfunk. The song was called Blind 2See. Yup. Lyrics from an anime who's music was made by the same guy who made the music for Jet Set Radio and Sonic Rush made an appearance in the CD version of a Mario game.
@Beatzie Graham oh it just means anyone can use the lyrics for a song and doesn’t need permission and possibly from a song and just have the lyrics in the music spliced and rebuilt for sample use that’s all
You know that moment when you find something mind blowing about you childhood? Well here it is for me. I played Mario Hoops WAAAAY before I was into Final Fantasy so I didn't know that White Mage, Black Mage, and Ninja were based of off Final Fantasy job classes....until just now! Like 7 years later! Jesus, I mindblown right now!
Yeah I loved playing as cactuar and I thought he was just some original character made for the game, years later I saw him again in a final fantasy video and I was so confused.
@@sometf2player752I think this fits the Sonic brand but I think this type of music could fit in the sports games. Would probably would feel out of place in like the 3D Mario games or like Mario Party
as someone who didnt grow up with this game, this is NOT what i would've expected clicking on a sherbet land theme, but can't say i can complain about it
My nigga. That’s all I gotta say. I lost my mind when I found out Soken worked on my childhood game right here, fuck. I love Final Fantasy XIV as well. Best composer ever hands down, Uematsu is a legend but Soken is just phenomenal.
this was always my favorite song in game and OMG the CD version is such a banger, so sad my DS is broken, maybe i should try to get a new one because playing in an emulator is not the same thing
This is probably the nicest ice theme I ever heard in a video game.. and no, it's not just the nostalgia that is kicking, I love the atmosphere, the icey sounds, the beat, the voice, melody, everything!
I remember the times i was around 8-9 years old, with only around 6 cartridges and a pink DS as my only friend... Listening to this makes me feel bittersweet, but unfortunately i can't weep anymore. I've grown a lot colder but i'm still vulnerable to nostalgia related to my past games...
@@johnbakasmoothhotchocolate I want to still be able to feel those emotions though, it's shameful to me if I start losing myself thanks to how this cursed human world is. Games are a very important part of my mental development. Those I play(ed) show(ed) me the importance of underrated concepts in society such as love, honesty and all that.
@@earnwealdsilver5855 I understand how you feel because games are a very important part of my well-being as well. Seriously, they got me through a lot of tough times in my life, such as a bad break-up. It's never too late or impossible to feel any emotions towards anything or other people. Though this world has some pretty f***** up ethics nowadays, not everyone follows the same philosophy thankfully.
Mario Hoops 3 on 3 Deluxe when? This game should for sure be ported/remastered for the Switch. Would be even cooler if we got some Mario spinoff characters like Geno, Wart, and Fawful in
Keep in mind, the guy who made this banger went and made what is (in my opinion) one of the best gaming tracks ever while bedridden and fighting cancer. Masayoshi Soken is the goat.
I wonder what happened here. Hideki Naganuma and Nintendo used the same CD of sounds or smth. You can hear the "you're too blind to see" here and in the song [2 blind 2 see] from the anime Air Gear
Soken uses a fair few samples, I know for the Shadowbringers expansion he used some samples for the songs Civilization (LA-HEE!) and another such sample is a recurring motif in the Bozja content soundtracks.
woah I honestly completely forgot this game existed, but thank god for this song being in one of my playlists, I'm all for a sequel or a remaster on switch!
Ive never played this game so it is so uncanny to hear something that sounds like a Sega somg for a Mario Basketball game showing a picture of a white mage.
Nintendo needs to produced a sequel to this mario basketball game for the nintendo 3ds and put more playable mario characters in it like dry bone, hammer bro, boomerang bro, fire bro, and ice bro.
yea but that one isnt an actual official sequal we talking about a legit just mario hoops with even more characters including the originals from the first one the mario sports mix has way less
That right ganasher. We hope in the future nintendo folllows on a sequel with a stand alone mario basketball game for the nintendo 3ds with more playable mario characters, more superior stages, and medium A.i. The final fantasy character needs to be playable too in this sequel. Let play some basketball!! Also mario, luigi and the princess are playable guess characters in NBA street vol 3 for the nintendo gamecube version.
Not that hard. Soken has some *really* diverse songs under his belt, and dude is always going above and beyond what's expected. A handheld sports spinoff still gets his full effort, and he doesnt even take a break when he's in the hospital bedridden for 6 months
Soken knows how to make a groovy track. I mean, playing XIV, it's not hard to see that man loves putting vocals in music. For a game like this, putting vocals in it is something only a guy like Soken would do
Check this out I also use the princess shooting trio and now I have all gold trophies in tourney mode using princess peach, princess daisy and princess white mage:team princess for the win!
