I have no complaints, even as someone who biasedly played Mario Kart 64 first. I completely expected 64 to be chosen since it was the most iconic one. And for follow-ups, I thought "Double Dash, DS, etc." or perhaps the one in Mario Kart 7 since many people love that one. But to my amazement, I heard the Super Mario Kart one and genuinely teared up in that theater. It was the perfect underdog I never expected to hear. And it completely made my day to hear it orchestral, even if it was only for a moment. Before Mario even landed on the track, it was the headliner for the Rainbow Road segment and that alone gave it such importance in the film.
