The wii version is better tho. The awfull controlls on the 3ds xl. The wii is still working from 2011-2020. The 3d xl is also working. Mario Kart wii is the best titel from the mario Kart "series" the switch version is also bad.
@@Sw33tG4mer Ok maybe they arent as awfull as i think they are. The thing is both of my hands hurts after 30min of playing... Thats why the controls are awfull since i cant properly drive.
*No Coconut Ball on the fountain, the extra parking lot driver isn't there, and the music is a couple notes different.* OCD Perfectionists: *AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
Yeah i feel koopa cape needed the underwater section like wii and coconut mall needed to be like wii. Mushroom gorge was fine imo and maple treeway was more or less fine
I really miss this, really nostalgic, I've been playing nintendo 3ds since my early childhood, my favorite off all was Mario games like Mario kart 7😢😭😔
@@Vodotix There are quite a lot of differences actually, the textures are less detailed, there is no third floor of the mall like there was on the Wii version, which makes this feel smaller. No miis, no posters, no piantas, no huge balloon above the first fountain. This is without a doubt the worst version of Coconut Mall for me. The 8 one excluded some of these as well but it has more details and looks better.
@@Vodotix Significantly. I feel like what made the original so good (besides the idea of driving around in a mall cause c'mon that's just awesome) was the touches that made it so lively, your miis on the posters and the miis bouncing around in stores and on the sidelines. That's just me though, not saying you have to think the same of course
Tbh it was never that hard to tell which is which in the original. You just have to pay really close attention. *EDIT:* In the original there were Piantas that tell you which escalator to take.
This version feels like a dead mall version. Because literally theres nobody there like in the Og. Not to mention literally 0 posters with the miis face, and missing so much of what made the original so iconic
Even worse. One time I got hit by the Mii of my ex of all people (I keep her Mii as I'm too lazy to delete it and she was one of my best party members in Miitopia lol)
The wii is far More powerful then the 3ds since it can fit in a better RAM since it’s bigger, so it’s expected that the 3ds’s port must have had a few thing removed from the wii albeit the wii being better adapted to storing data
I would feel the exact same about Wii's Wario's Mine over 8's remake. Actually, all the Wii versions are better than their remakes because the Wii tracks had the little side things you could do flips off of, and they completely removed that in the new MK games
Sean Stone that’s ok, but my least favorite out of all of them is DS DK Pass, It’s so BORING, the music sucks and the Calm snowy theme of the track doesn’t suit up for DK
The only reason this version of the track isn't S tier for me is the fact that, outside of the 2 Miis in the parking lot, there are literally zero people in the mall. No Miis, no Toads, no Shy Guys, not even any advertisements. Because of this it just feels so barren in this version specifically.
All the Wii fanboys be screaming in the comments about how “We won’t get this anymore since it was recreated in a crappy game!!1!!” Just be happy it got remade...
Bonita Mukherjee Who cares about Mario Kart Tour? It’s just Mario Kart 7 for phones and with loot boxes. This track should come back in Mario Kart 9 as a HD remake.
Something I don’t like here is that the correct escalator is too obvious with the arrows. In the wii version you had to look at the stair patterns which made it a lot of more difficult and enjoyable
@@trymsan4368 its hard to tell the difference. Wear some headphones on you'll hear that the piano in 7's version sounds more classical and realistic then Wii's version
As someone who didn't grow up on Mario Kart Wii (or Mario Sunshine, give me a second to explain), I'm not really sure how this looks better than 8's. I think the style is more fitting towards what Coconut Mall is going for- which itself feels like it's trying to be a call-back to Mario Sunshine- and I think it does that PERFECTLY. Putting aside all the legacy stuff though (like the lower-quality textures and models and up/downscaling the track), I think a lot of spots look too dark for no reason (though maybe that's just the lighting), and those "stairwells" have always looked ugly and extremely out-of-place for me. I also think the color choice for Tour/8's version looks a lot cleaner: more of the "coconut" to Wii's "mall" look which I think looks a bit more drab by comparison. (Though that's ONLY by comparison though.) Also don't even get me started on the escalator complaint... Not saying Wii's version doesn't do some things right, though. Moving cars aside, the parking lot (and driveway in general) in Tour/8 lack a fair bit of personality, and the mall itself looks unintentionally empty. Not just because of a lack of crowds (which I barely noticed anyways), but a lot of the stores look closed or shut down and/or unmarked. Also while I like the overall color choice of Tour/8's version better, the place that suffers for it is the garden: in Wii the amount of color and sunshine really does make it feel like an outdoors area. 8's version of the garden uses orange ground tiling, which with already the rest of the area having an orange/brown color scheme makes it look far less colorful (which again isn't helped by the stores on the left looking like it's 2021). Also all the signs which give the place some personality. So yeah, overall I think both have points that look better and worse in different aspects.
WARNING!! UNPOPULAR OPINION COMING UP!! I like this version of the track better than the original. I didn’t even like the original to begin with anyway.
I prefer the Wii version because the mall in 7 feels empty where as in Wii you see Piantas and Miis around the mall. And the fountains all have items and not coins.
You people are such jerks. It’s a remake, of course it’s not perfect. It never was. Stop letting nostalgia cloud up your memory. And I this comes from someone with MKW
We need a whole Mario Kart Wii again but with better graphics, because the way the game looks can’t be replaced with the way mario kart 8 looks, its horrible
Actually there's a slight difference in this one. Listen to both this and the original and then compare them: Wii: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QY7SxnKqMmE.html 3DS: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-usCKQHcrMno.html
@@Mr.Face222 this version does have the intro on the final lap. Mario Kart Wii had the audacity to cut the intro on Final Lap themes even on Retro Tracks (except Ghost Valley 2). But the last minute themes for Battle Stage songs do have the intro.
So I guess the MK8 design of this track was more heavily on this design than the Wii's design. This design is objectively uglier than the wii version, but is understandable why they made these decisions, given the hardware limitations... On the Switch though, I was hoping to see bigger improvements. :(
The opposite really. Clearly the 3DS version is more akin of the Wii version. They just removed some PNJ because of hardware limitation and added arrow on the elevator ( which still looks like elevator ! ) They remade this tour with another design for the mobile version ( it's still not out but it has been datamined ) and that's the version we have in Mario Kart 8.
Mushroom Gorge was okay in MK7 imo. They'd probably have to improve it a lot in order to work with MK8's jumping physics if they were to include the course. Koopa Cape, I would like to see it in MK8DX.
if they bring koopa cape back in the booster course pass I hope they bring back the koopa turn sign and the electric poles but other than that I hope it makes a return to the booster course pass
The Wii one still wins! The only thing Nintendo improved here is that it's much easier to go through the shortcut in the shop on the left when you go up the first set of escalators. Edit: The booster course version is definitely an improvement over this version, in fact, all 4 Wii remakes in this game are babies compared to the booster versions. I'd honestly prefer the booster version over the original if it had the original soundtrack.
