Has anyone played Mario Kart 7, then started playing Mario Kart DS and keep pressing R because you forgot you were playing MKDS and you thought you could trick?
Thank you to all the people who have come into the comments to tell me this is the wrong game. You have given me so many good laughs over the last two years!
@@eduardoxenofonte4004 Holy shit WTF, made that comment 5 years ago. Obviously my opinion has changed because MKWii's graphics are way better that MKDD's lol I play MKWii competitively now.
It's yoshi's freaking valley! God! I need this! Does anyone else would love to see all of the rainbow roads I'm one cup? Like a hidden extra cup or something like that...
because youre in first place and then get blue shelled, hit by a guy with a star, run over by a guy with a super mushroom, and knocked away by a bullet bill and suddenly youre in last place
Also, how dare they shorten N64 Toad's Turnpike and N64 Rainbow Road, ESPECIALLY the later. For the longest course in series history it should've been two laps, not just one. Did Nintendo forget adjustable no. of laps per track was a thing after MKDD?
Baby Park works better because DS is a slower game (no offense to DS, it's my favorite), but I see the complaints in this situation because Mario Kart 8 is faster than Mario Kart 64, by quite a bit. The only reason it's so short is probably to cater more to an online audience, because, let's face it, even with Mario Kart 8 speed you wouldn't want to play through three full length laps of that course online, especially in timed tournaments (I've participated in those, and getting a lot of long courses like Wario Stadium or Bone-Dry Dunes can hinder your performance) so that probably contributed to that a lot, imagine you have 8 minutes left in a tournament and are thinking, "Alright, that's enough for two more races, maybe even three if I get a short track, and then you would get a three lap N64 Rainbow Road, only have time for that track, and loose a ton of potential points.
Well, the speed of the 2D Mario Karts is a drastically different style than the 3D ones, but I would say that Mario Kart 7 is the slowest 3D Mario Kart. I'm pretty sure the 2D ones are slower, but Mario Kart 7 is definitely slower than 64, DS, Wii, 8 and DD.

I was a bit disappointed they only allowed you to complete 1 lap of Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 8. The game is fantastic as a whole but I just think it's a shame the way the remastered it for this version.
I'm sorry but you're completely wrong. It is one consecutive track. The track isn't 100% like the one in the N64 version as it adds anti gravity sections but the layout and design of the course is pretty much identical. Also, I hope you're aware I'm talking about the final in the Lightning Cup where the tracks are based off of tracks in previous games, not the Rainbow Road in the Special Cup which is an original track.
***** Very true, it is a long race but at one lap I found it too short for the final race and it was 3 races in the original. Even if it was an option when playing on your own it would have been nice.
***** I agree it might be too much when playing online but as I said it would have been nice to have the original option of 3 laps, even if it was purely a single player thing.
I have to wonder if one of Toads ancestors was a poison mushroom in a past life because only someone TRULY EVIL could come up with a track so cruel that the roads are tightly packed with traffic and cause you to blow up on touch and where bananas become the most dangerous things on the road and where shells dont help in the slightest when it comes to your opponents... That my friends is Toads Turnpike in a nutshell
I appreciaite how you didn't do wheelies during the Mario Kart Wii tracks. Gives us more time to appreciate the beauty of the original courses before they got the HD upgrade.
Wonderful look back, thanks for sharing, i find that even with blue shells etc the best players always seem to rise to the top. Im not including myself in this category merely pointing out that this is a game of skill and a little luck. Loved it since SNES.
Is it bad that I came here to look at retro Mario tracks but ended up invested in whether Yoshi would win the N64 Rainbow Road? So intense. It's hilarious that you had a better time with the Special Cup than any of the previous cups, BTW.
i was scrolling through the comments, and quickly scrolled back up to the video once i heard a blue shell flying over you at around 36:00. sorry, i just wanted to see it :D
As much as I love this game they made some really poor decisions when it comes to retro tracks. Like why did they shorten rainbow road 64 soo much, and why wasn't figure 8 circuit DS in the game, it would fit almost too well. And why is it necessary to have 4 N64 Tracks and only 1 GBA Track
Retro Track Opinion's: *Moo Moo Meadows: Quite Impressive, despite lacking Anti-Gravity features. *GBA Mario Circuit: Neat thing to do. *DS Cheep Cheep Beach: Great Improvement. *N64 Toad's Turnpike: Hardly looks like it, but great new mechanics. *GCN Dry Dry Desert: What's in the Quicksand Pit now? A Giant Sandmaargh. And what's with the Oasis that was never there before? *SNES Donut Plains 2: I thought there was already one as a Retro Track in MKDS. *N64 Royal Raceway: The Piranha Plant's could've been in Pipe's. *3DS DK Jungle: Doesn't Belong in the Banana Cup. It was from the Special Cup, see the difficulty. *DS Wario Stadium: Some name that was taken already, and I don't recall the Track ever flooding. *GCN Sherbet Land: Some name, and great Aquatic Feature's, but the Shy Guy's should not have been there as gimmick's. *3DS Melody Motorway: Hasn't changed much, no Anti-Gravity Seg's, and I was expecting a Gliding Section to be added over the Piranha Plant's. *N64 Yoshi Valley: Oh my, the least likable Track in Mario Kart 64. You can't tell what place you're in, and it's literally like a maze. *DS Tick Tock Clock: Great Improvement, the Pendulum Gimmick's can now be driven on. *3DS Piranha Plant Pipeway: What is there to say? *Wii Grumble Volcano: The heat is intense I'll say. *N64 Rainbow Road: I've been expecting this to appear, but why did they modify the course to be in Section's/Only one Lap?
Can we just talk about the fact that there are three 3ds stages but only two wii stages, I mean 3ds is newer and I thought these stages were more to make you remember old stages. The wii stages aren't that old either, but still I think it would make more sense with a couple more wii stages and maybe only one 3ds stage. But they chose memorable stages. (did anyone understand that?)
Actually, I did the math and I think the only N64 course that has NOT been made into a retro course is Wario Stadium. I believe there are still quite a few options for the GCN tracks.
Your race in Toad's Turnpike is a perfect example of why that's the only track in the entire Mario Kart series that I hate. I do have a few that I dislike, but I don't mind racing on them, you just won't see me picking them often. This one, though... I see people saying 8's version of it is boring, but considering the bullshit you went through in 64 (remember Mirror Mode?), I think 8 actually saved that track.
Countdown to Future Mario Kart 10 What your favorite tracks.? My was N64-Toad turnpike Wii-coconut mall Ds-waluigi pinball Wii-koopa cape N64-Rainbow Road Mario Kart 7-Luigi Mansion SNES-GHOST DRIVEWAY ( NOT THE NAME) AND DOUBLE DASH-MARIO circuit and Mario Kart super circuit-yoshi island and Mario Kart 8-luigi circuit......the further future Mario Kart 9-........?( maybe actually NAME-..??? Mario KART 10- I dont know yet Maybe that's why they are numbering the MARIO KART series. .
Sorry about sucking on toads turnpike. I know since personally own mario kart 64 that if you mess up once the game just punishes you to no end, especially on Toad's Turnpike.
In MKDD and MKDS you'd have to snake in order to get the maximum boost speed as possible. But he/she wasn't snaking so he/she wouldn't've gotten the full turbo boost.
My predictions for the MK9's (whatever the hell it's going to be called) retro tracks. (Note: These are my opinions) Shell Cup: (Wii) Luigi Circut (GBA) Riverside Park (DS) Shroom Ridge (Wii U) Toad Harbor Banana Cup: (GCN) Mushroom City (GBA) Sunset Wilds (3DS) Neo Bowser City (SNES) Mario Circuit 4 Leaf Cup: (GBA) Cheese Land (Wii U) Electrodome (N64) Wario Stadium (GCN) Wario Colosseum Lightning Cup: (SNES) Vanilla Lake 1 (3DS) Maka Wuhu (GCN) Bowser's Castle (GBA) Rainbow Road
GBA Mario Circuit's music in MK8 sounds next to NOTHING like it did in the GBA. And heck, Peach/Luigi Circuit in MKDS had a better representation of the GBA theme. Sooner or later Nintendo will have to just ditch the SNES/GBA tracks entirely and just have 3D Retro Tracks starting form MK9.
Dude they do a Good job at HD remaking the SNES and GBA maps but I get what your saying they don't have a base foundation to work with unlike Versions from the N64 and DS and after those two (yes I said N64 and DS cause N64 and DS had Full 3d maps for the first time DS for the Handheld titles and N64 for Console titles)
Some random error :P -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TheJackFrom4170's right. You failed to get a perfect score on all the tracks. Do you want to delete your video and start over? [Yes, I want the perfect score! (Recommended)] [No, I'd bother not to delete my awesome video.]
