Despite the comment I posted 2 years ago, The steering control in Mario Kart 64 is actually good. it turns out that the steering in the Wii U version of MK64 sucks somehow, whereas the steering in the original cartridge version feels SO much better.
Just my opinion, but I feel Mario Kart 64’s steering in general is not bad, but generally crazier than most of the games in the series. Often times, even on 100cc speed and whilst using my preferred methods of handheld mode on the Switch and the GamePad on the Wii U, I’ll still be turning and sliding all over the place. Still, I think Super Circuit’s steering is the worst as I have played each track 30 times and still never got the feel of how it works.
