personally, I'm GLAD the game has a boss capable of regenerating health without interference. for those of you who complain about it, THINK ABOUT HOW THE BOSSES FEEL WHEN YOU DO IT!
I remember how hard of a time I had on dreamy bowser it took me much longer than it should have just to take out one of his arms I was probably under leveled
Elite corrin Fan worse for me I forgot to grind in somnom woods I was lvl 28 once I reached bowser but sense my 2 save files were full I reset the game and tried again I’m at giant bowser so far :)
I had an idea about Rpg final bosses. What if the final boss's power was relative to your levels. So that no matter how little or how much you grinded the final boss would always be a challenge.
neversparky Usually they have hidden post-game super bosses for that but it would also do well for the actual storyline. Plenty of games we all know that could benefit from that. Killing a storyline boss in 3 hits is just not a challenge. That would just make it a random encounter enemy with another music theme and a 1-time encounter chance.
In all the M&L games Bowser was just a comic relief character, Even in Bowser's Inside Story where he was the main protagonist. But in this game, he had enough of mario and luigi's crap and proved himself as The threatning Koopa god And the worst part is that YOU CREATED THIS MONSTER, By leveling him up and defeating Fawful and Dark bowser once and for all.
You really get a sense of power from this incarnation of Bowser, heck, he's so confident that he decides the target of his hammer by flipping a coin! I really love that they decided to finally give Bowser a well-deserved place as the true final boss of this game.
Think about it. You spent the entirety of Bowser's Inside Story teaching him how to be a competent villian. Leveling him up. Defeating Fawful's treachery. So it should only be natural that Bowser does everything right this time, is incredibly strong, overthrows Antasma. Given the power of dreams, the Koopa King now becomes the Koopa God. And the worst knowledge is that you created this.
good thing he wasn't super smart other wise he would have gotten the ideal of erasing mario and luigi from existent long before they got anywhere near him
Yeah, this comment was honestly mind blowing and decided to paste it here since not everyone can go to that specific video and see that specific comment.
+lightyoshiman he actually try to erase mario and luigi once, but get interrupt by peach and starlow,so this battle is like plan B(and don't ask me why don't Bowser do that earlier, the dream stone is Antasma's until bowser betray him)
Bowser seems like a complete badass in this, He betrays Antasma, Turns into a super dreamy version of himself, ends up being so difficult, Has Higher HP than the three previous final bosses combined, Has one of the most AMAZING final boss music from what I have listened in my entire life, and nearly managed to succeed and dominate the entire mushroom kingdom and the world. Well done bowser, You deserve a A+ for this remarkable and amazing boss fight. You sir, Are a badass.
"Has Higher HP than the three previous final bosses combined" Dreamy Bowser's Health: 2,417 Cackletta's health: 1,200 Princess shroob's health: 8,500 (2,500 for the fight against the younger, 3,000 for the first phase of the elder, 3,000 for the second phase) Dark Bowser's health: 1,000 Dark star core's health: 1,560 All of their combined health: 15,260. 2,417 > 15, 260? BULL!
Mat the Speed Star Self healing bosses are a massive pain no matter what game you're playing. I know I'm going to piss off a lot of fans of CAVE's bullethell shooters, but this is why I put the Conquistador from Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony on Judgement above Spiritual Larsa on Ultra Mode in terms of boss difficulty. As for Bowser himself, I have to confess that I haven't played Dream Team (though I have watched footage of several boss battles). I would assume that Dreamy Bowser is a bit harder than the other Mario & Luigi RPG final bosses.
fghdkjlfkghfc I don't think she heals her heart, she only heals her other body parts, but the other parts don't matter until you need to expose her heart again
I love this music, like all Mario and Luigi final boss themes, this really brings in a sense of epicness. Cackletta's soul, Elder Princess Shroob's final phase, Dark Bowser and Fawful and now Dreamy Bowser. The music really makes me feel that if I lose, the world will fall into despair. Also despite their light hearted approach, the Mario and Luigi games have some very dark undertones. :D
4 month late reply :3 dark undertones as in perhaps the destruction of Bean Bean Castle town? I love how lighthearted yet dark the M&L RPG games can be
The bad news: Antasma has nothing to do with the final boss! The good news: Bowser makes his first truly menacing final boss appearence in a very long time!
actually he is the final boss of the dream world giant bowser is the final giant boss antasma the final boss of the dream world and dreamy bowser the final boss of the real world
Welcome to Nintendo's side games. They're usually the best. (For another example, see Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. Mainly Explorers of Time/Darkness/ Sky. Sky has additional content. )
Problemly the most powerful Bowser has been up to date , aside from the Star Rod powered one from Paper Mario, but he can do much more in Dreamy Form than what the star Rod could diss out.
Well, in fairness, Paper Mario (every one except Super Paper Mario) was a play. Hence the cheesyness of how Bowser can hire such omnipotent beings and become so powerful in the end with this one time Star rod that can somehow beat the deities who created it. I feel like the Mario and Luigi games aren't actual plays, but are the real deal. Like adventures that the Mario bros actually go through and learn new things about their world every adventure. Hence Dream Bowser's more powerful because this is no longer "scripted". it's also why in the RPGs that aren't "plays" Bowser seems a lot more serious while the ones that are Plays (including the mainstream ones except Sunshine which isn't play) Bowser tends to act blindly narccistic and allows Mario to beat him essentially. It's like that in real life really, Actors are different than the characters they play usually, but the characters they play usually reflects the reputation of the actor, even if unfairly. Bowser's a lot smarter than he's allowed to act most of the time.
***** You're right. The problem is, though, Bowser would have to tap into a level of intelligence that he doesn't have in order to imagine such things to make them happen. It's much like the Green Lantern's Ring.
Mario Mastar You know, it's funny you said that because I remember Cracked.com pointing out that Super Mario Bros. 3 was in fact a play due to the intro and the credits. Makes a lot of sense.
Mario Mastar That play idea makes sense. But based on some promotional art for Paper Jam it shows Paper Mario coming out of a Book that Mario and Luigi found. Also based on the intro of Paper Mario, I think that the Paper Mario Series are all books or stories, that when Mario & Luigi stumble on it...by the power of magic? they unleash the story characters into the real world being the Mario & Luigi series.
Mario Mastar Do you remember you comment? I remember that Mario and Luigi Paper Jam is a thing now. Let's see how Paper Bowser will be potrayed and if your statement holds water!
The instruments are meaningful, the choir is for the great dreamy power that Bowser has, the piano is for the dreamy things that happens in the whole adventure and the other instruments are for the epic battle self.
It's beautiful and grand, haunting and completely immersive. I can say these few things but find myself unable to fully put into words the powerful feeling this masterpiece brings to me. All I can do is listen and experience something wondrous.
Actually, Bowser has been, in one form or another, the final boss of every Mario and Luigi game. In Superstar Saga, it was him being possessed by Cackletta. In Partners in Time, he was powered up by the Empress Shroob. In Inside Story, it was his doppelganger, Dark Bowser. And, in this one, it's basically Bowser with unlimited godlike power.
this boss took me like an hour because he just kept on spamming his fucking heal move everytime i cleared his minions out. what a pain in the ass, maybe i just got really unlucky
Im okay with his heal spamming, but when I fought him, he kept raising his fucking right arm, preventing any damage to him, and stopping me from disabling his right arm. I literally wasted my BP because of that, Literally every move. Im so glad there's no Dreamy Bowser X. I would have wasted a ton of turns on this fight.
David Lee I used my "Lower Defense" Badge ability, took out his Left Arm, use Mario's and Luigi's final Ablility (Star Jump and the Zeekeeper) When he entered his heal phase, I try to take out every minion before he manages to heal again, then back to stage one.
He'd be unbeatable, and no amount of praying or good thoughts would stop that. Hell, this theme already signifies a very tough boss fight, and considering the last three Mario RPG's that is a much needed improvement. Never thought I'd see Game Over so many times in a Mario game after TTYD.
He would probably take on traits similar to Antasma. That's kind of a disturbing thought. Fortunately the Dark/Nightmare Stone was broken into fragments which were ultimately destroyed by the Bros entering the Dream Worlds and freeing the Pi'illos thus both stones in the end were destroyed. Perhaps that's a good thing because in the wrong hands the powers to bend realities can have catastrophic results.
0:00 - 1:14 - Hm I'm LOVING this.. probably better than In the Final 1:14 - Better than in the final -.- I swear, I'm so glad I got this on it's release so I could experience this beautiful piece.... I had to comment on what my first thoughts were on this battle and it's music.
Damian Kortus unlike the paper Mario thousand year door Finale Here's an epic boss fight, let's add ppl cheering you on in the background because the mechanic helps the epicness of the finale... right
I really can't wait to experience this battle soon. Currently working my way through the castle at the moment. Defeated Kamek 3 times. All that's left are the battles with Giant Bowser, Antasma and Dreamy Bowser.
SEE THIS? THIS. IS THE SHIT WE WANT. Mario Galaxy, and games like THIS is WHAT we WANT from Mario. Good story, fun gameplay and kickass music! SO STOP REHASHING.
(Hears music) This is so epic! It has a sense of hopelessness, like the final battle before doomsday. However, then the music becomes more upbeat and energetic and sounds like you have a chance of wining the battle of the centuries. It sounds like the final battle of the mario series as a WHOLE! Bowsers most epic battle theme EVER!
SS had Cackletta's Soul in Bowser's body, PiT had a monstrous Shroob Princess who literally threw her own army at you, BIS had the (imo failed disastrously) equivalent to Satan with Fawful at it's core, DT had *BOWSER AS FUCKING GOD*. I can't even fathom how they're going to top these for Paper Jam.
For the Antasma fans who hate this boss simply because it's Bowser, or some other reason, I ask you to consider this: Bowser was recently defeated in the most devastating way possible by his archenemies twice in the same fight despite him being able to by all means crush them in a world where he is supposed to be invincible. This is coming after all the times in this spinoff where he was defeated in humiliating ways, or when he truly thought he could beat the Bros without a problem. This time he had a legitimate way to do that, and STILL lost and this was without any divine interventions from anywhere. Not to mention it was by a normal sized Mario and a giant Luigi whose name he couldn't remember until the end of the game. This defeat was without a doubt crushing enough and infuriating enough that he stole the Dream Stone, left Antasma for dead, and seconds after the Bros reach them uses the Dream Stone to get high enough so they can't jump on him easily, and safely tries to wish them into oblivion. He is then stopped by bullshit ex machina, inhales the shards of the Dream Stone, absorbs it's power entirely, cue most epic final boss fight in the series. Even Starlow acknowledges that they may have to...end Bowser once and for all, while Dreambert outright tells her and Peach to "destroy him along with the Dream Stone". I don't believe Mario & Luigi truly won this fight: I think the writers made it so they had a chance. And even then it was still slim. This highly threatening melody that basically screams "Win this fight or lose everything you care about forever" is proof of that. It's with this I can safely say that this spinoff can be laid to rest now unless they plan on making all the future villains and final bosses totally original and having no forms of Bowser in them whatsoever. Because when you really think about, the last truly original Mario RPG final boss was SPOILERS Smithy, from Super Mario RPG.
Bowser basically did the unthinkable. He adopted a manipulative personality like Dimentio and became a powerful and nearly unstoppable threat to the world. I think he is learning from the past foes that upstaged him and is taking their strategies into consideration. Kind of scary actually.
I have no idea what you just said, but you can't argue defeating what is effectively a god, regarding power levels and the ability to literally DREAM THINGS INTO EXISTENCE, By using equally funny, creative and demanding stunts isn't awesome.
nitro836 Oh it is indeed awesome, without a doubt the most epic final boss fight with Bowser in the series surpassing literally everything he's done up to Dream Team. Even still, this is the most dangerous Bowser has ever been considering his attacks do crazy damage if you haven't gotten good at dodging and countering by now, not to mention the song carries on a true sense of finality if the Bros lose. This isn't that high level star powered showdown that decides if the villain or the hero comes out on top like Paper Mario was. This is the kind of battle reserved for moments where the only things standing between the world and it's total destruction are just two plumbers...who've defeated witch souls, a shroob goddess (IMO at least), the extremely poorly executed representation of evil in the Mario universe, and now their longtime enemy who just recently was destroyed by the Bros in his own dreams *twice*. This is Bowser simply deciding to get rid of the Mario Bros if it's the last thing he does. And I fucking love it for that. Really, I find it hard to believe that Nintendo could ever top Dreamy Bowser with any future Bowser. Or hell any future final boss. Oh well, they surprised me with Shadow Queen.
Bowser got some awesome development from this game, in that he finally learned other villains won't play nice back to you. (I.E. Count Bleck, Fawful, Etc.)
I finally defeated him in the end. Though I admit he kicked my ass a few times. Possibly one of the toughest Bowser battles in the series. I sort of used a cheap strategy eventually after he owned me a few times. I used the time freeze ability that you get from one of the badge combinations. I wasn't intending to use it originally but he left me with no choice. I was getting slaughtered a lot. When I started using that a few times. He was helpless. Left me free to use all my strongest moves on him repeatedly and didn't get a chance to fight back. I will go back sometime and try and beat him fairly.
+Darkstar263 Just spam any ability with the boots attribute to them(preferably the star rocket and the sling snipe) as he's weak to them just like mamoshka, he'll go down in a few turns if you do that 10 at the most(assuming your rainbow rank or you have the duplex crown)
This really gives me that do-or-die feeling. It gets me thinking, "If I lose this, then my friends...my world...and my dreams DIE! I can't fail! I MUST NOT FAIL!!!" Anyone else get that feeling when they hear this theme?
The final Showdown from Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story was so popular, they decided to give us TWO final boss themes...and they're both blow fish out of the water AMAZING! I dunno how Yoko does it, but every piece somehow ends up better than before. Even in Kingdom Hearts, Dream Drop Distance has some of the best music in the series (though Birth By Sleep has amazing boss music).
Mario Mastar I don't know, but I think I really, really like to listen to Adventure's End/The Final Antasma Battle more than any Kingdom Hearts Serie's Songs ... I mean, I'm a huge KH fan ... I might not have all the games, or know exactly the story but it's something I realy like more than any other game ... But while I was playing Mario & Luigi Dream Team, I danced listening to those songs and these last two made me think of all the way I had to get in those Battles ... All the enemies and everything ... But I prefer KH gameplay, songs, story characters more than ever ... I think I'm just missing playing it ... and since I have KH HD 1.5 ReMIX but I don't have a PS3 I think I'm just anxious about not playing the game ... But at least I can play KH 3D but I don't know if 3D songs are better than M&L DT ... I mean they are both so "happy", "Jumpful" ... and the sad songs makes me feel some feeling you know???
Victor Rocha Ah, I know what you mean. I'm kind of back and forth. KH music is more melodramatic overall, but it's great when you're in a very dreamy and powerful mood. Mario and Luigi music is more fun to listen to, being up beat and danceable and is good for when you're in a light hearted and bouncy mood. I tend to alternate myself. :)
Greatest Bowser Finale tune...EVER!!!!, i mean the Galaxy tunes were epic but this battle is something else...for the first time in awhile "TO ME" have we got not only a challenging final boss fight with Bowser but we've got a epic tune to go along with it that really sets the mood, lately in more recent Mario games, the battles with Bowser were awesome to look at and had epic pieces to go with it but they were just short and easy, i guess short but sweet is the way to put it, leave it to the RPGs to just blow our minds with battles like these, this is fantastic! :D
This was my first Mario and Luigi game and still is my favorite, some people claim it's bland, but It's filled with more life than the previous ones, yes, Fawful and Cackletta were great villians, but they grew old rather quickly, while Bowser on the other hand is always a blast. Dream Team may be what fan call the game that started to take the series downhill, but I disagree.
Okay, don’t be dissin’ my man Fawful. Bowser honestly deserved to be the final boss after Bowser’s Inside Story and being a sock puppet for other villains through out the series. (Popple, Cackletta, Elder Princess Shroob, and Fawful all used and/or manipulated him) But I never got tired of Fawful. I think it made sense for him to have a smaller role and lay low in Partners in Time, but his return was well deserved in Bowser’s Inside Story. He brought a ton of humour to the game, and some more serious moments when it was necessary. Bowser did the same thing, but I feel a ton of his jokes played off Fawful’s funniness. Not to say his jokes were unnecessary, as they brought a lot to the game, but they just needed Fawful to make it happen. I do think Bowser was underrated in this game, as people thought Antasma was supposed to betray Bowser instead of vice-versa. I definitely disagree, because Bowser hasn’t had many chances to be a proper villain in the series. He’s had to put up with being pushed around by just about every other villain in the series. This is similar to Luigi, but not as much in the Mario and Luigi series honestly. It’s refreshing to see Bowser become a real threat in a Mario RPG as it last happened in Paper Mario. I don’t think it’s needs to be overdone, but I like it from time to time. Paper Jam also had Bowser as a villain, which would be _fine,_ but they don’t do anything special with him and contribute why some people hate Bowser as a villain, for just how bland he is. I would have preferred something else from a Paper Mario crossover, but Bowser could have worked pretty well! I don’t have a clue what I expected to get out of going on some Mario tangent in response to a 4 year old comment from a user who probably isn’t even still active, but I don’t give a damn. To make a long story short, Fawful was pretty good and you know it.
This theme sounds eerily similar to the final boss theme in Yoshi's Island DS. Maybe it's the instruments used in this one, or maybe it's just my imagination acting up again.
This is very similar to Marluxia's final boss theme in KH Re:Chain of Memories to the point you won't expect this awesome theme to be here ^_^ Bowser sure knows how to pick a badass soundtrack for himself, and choosing Yoko Shimomora to compose it was the right choice
PwnSwag Nothing in common besides the music, you say? Exploring Bowser's body in Bowser's Inside Story as a whole is like exploring Monstro in Kingdom Hearts, and Dream Team is about exploring the Dream World, just like in Dream Drop Distance. Of course they don't have *nothing* in common! "sarcasm"
Let's see.M&L Dream Team occurs mostly in the dream world and an island related to dreams,DDD also occurs in the dream world in a realm related to Dreams Actually,we need a Dream Bundle for M&L Dream Team and KH3D
How to defeat: get a mushroom thingy affect and put it on bowser to freeze him (get a bunch) then do as much damage you can. Keep doing that until you’ve defeated him. Your welcome 🙏
The final Bowser of all final Bowser battles will be like this. Giga Bowser fused with the Dream Stone, absorbed the Dark Star, fused with the Dark Stone, has the Star Rod, is giant, has the Double Cherry, has the Cat Bell, has all the Royal Stickers, and to top it all off the Chaos Heart plus he is undead. Say hello to the true Ultimate Bowser. Giga Starry Dreamy Nightmare Dark Mega Chaos Double Shiny Dry Meowser. Have fun battling that.
All of these comments of stuff like "sounding too much like Kingdom Hearts" make me want to puke. You're just as bad as the people saying "oh is ben drowned going to be in the Majora's Mask Remake"
I kinda wish that there was a moment where if you beat dreamy bowser he will turn back to normal bowser KO’D and what would happen is that mario and luigi would do there victory pose snd then a question mark would appear above mario and luigi’s head and then 10 kameks would appear and the 10 kameks would say “It seems you got KO’d Bowser, let me help you” and then they would keep using there magic wands on bowser and then he would turn super giant and then the music would change and the soundtrack would be named “ The true end” and soon dreambert would appear and heal you for max hp and bowser would be giant and he would be much more powerful with new attacks and you would also have dreambert help you and he would have new attacks and then bowser would spawn in the dreamy version of Bowser Jr. and then Dreamy Bowser Jr would do a background chase and he would throw items at you and also use his flames and if you get hit by the attack Bowser Jr. would laugh but if you survive it he would be mad and bowser would steal both bros instead of 1 and he would drain your hp and you would have to mash the buttons and he would spawn kameks to either attack you with there magic wands or heal bowser and he would also try to stomp you and you would have to use the hammer and also if you defeat Dreamy bowser Jr. Bowser will do 3x damage and will just attack, but if you defeat bowser Bowser Jr. Will be shocked and he will attack you and his damage will do 2x and if you knockout bowser the 10 kameks will appear and try to heal bowser and you MUST attack and Destroy the Kameks or else bowser would be back up and the fight would start over in the 2nd phase but if you defeat the 10 kameks then bowser will be destroyed and mario and luigi would be doing there victory pose and then you would have to launch bowser out of the castle blah blah blah and do all the stuff that happens after you defeat bowser and then the ending would play
When you first hear this, you would think "This isn't a Bowser fight". But after playing, you be like "Bowser fights just got an upgrade of epic music". Sums up a M and L adventure: long and happy to end, and the power of the final boss. This is how a final boss theme should be.
It was a living hell defeating this fella, couldn't beat him on normal mode, beat him on easy mode though I died multiple times. A real pain in the butt, though I managed to beat him(I thought that I could save after I defeated him, so I defeated him some times but I didn't get the save button).
" The Final Antasma " is a nightmare music who present the most evil bat ever , and " Adventure's End " is a Dream Music for present the Dream of Bowser
I beaten this Boss at level 36 with the badge effect that increases your power, the one that reduces the enemy's defense and the Time-stop effect. (someone says time-stop doesn't work on bosses but it worked perfectly for me)
