The one aspect of this boss that I love is the amount of detail it has. Popple ropes you into fighting a Wiggler that was just minding its own business and is completely unhelpful during the battle. And the Bros look visually annoyed by this. For example, Wiggler will try to ram you and will try again in the opposite direction. Popple clutches Mario or Luigi in fear, making them heavier and slower to jump. And the Bro he's holding onto is trying to shake him off and looking pissed off.
@@Kahran042 not to mention it's segments resembles those blue and red creatures on that same beach that I don't recall what they're called, which splat on the ground when flung.
Springdude 11 I think it ends happily when Mario and Luigi watch Wiggler chase Popple out of there, making Wiggler overall a good guy in the game. If you think about it it’s almost like Eggman turning Knuckles against Sonic.
Marshy The Talking Marshtomp my guess is they weren't sure anyone would remember Popple so they just made it the standard boss theme. But, in fact, basically everyone remembered him, so they were wrong.
There already is one.... Look it up. Just play it over this when you replay this game. Super Star Saga + Bowsers Minions remake is out in a week music etc already is online.
It legitimately would've been awesome if popple turned into a third partner or just some kind of tool. Maybe there would be some kind of way to summon him in battles and for you to decide if you want to be able to take items and have more strength in battles but making counter attacks and doges harder to do.
It would've been cooler if Popple recognized the Bros and continued holding his grudge against them. And here he just appears out of no where and then just runs off never to be seen or heard from ever again.
Its likely a glitch of some sort. I played through the game recently and I noticed this problem with way too many characters. It’s kind of annoyingly jarring lol
@@floatingf8783 Given they were heavily built around the ring system, I think it would depend on how they are altered for the turn-based battle system.
I dont know aboht mario or luigi but back in super star saga after the popple and birdo fight birdo punched Popple into next week so he may have lost his memory. This game was relased like 12 years after super star saga give the man a break
@@lazykirby57 he acually got amnesia after that battle if you head to little fungi town by the clinic “castle” you can acually fine a toad bossing around Popple calling him a rookie. And Popple also response with yes boss
Funny thing, when I first fought this boss, I somehow got Wiggler down to 1hp and Popple killed it and he ended up disappearing, which I thought was suppose to happen until he started talking. Then when it came time to fight him, he was invisible so I couldn't see ANY of the cues.
Popple: Boo, I say! You two are rookies, watch a real pro wrap it up One bomb attack later Popple: Yeah, yeah, I get it! Cripes! You rookies take care of this
I love fighting popple in this game but by the time I get to him my skill level is too high to have any real fight with with him at all. Where is that super high defense he had in superstar saga?!
