This is the most insane movement possible in a Mario game. This is probably my favorite mod yet, even surpassing Multiplayer. Also love the callback to Smant's BOTW speedrunning video with the thumbnail

I remember playing Mario sunshine. I didn’t get very far, but I do remember Fludd

The extra movement capabilities with FLUDD in SMO are crazy! What blows my mind is that, even considering that Fir was messing around a good bit to show off the mod, the run time of 1hr 17m 20s wouldn't even place in the top 200 for any% or the top 40 for World Peace. Speedrunners have SMO so optimized that quite a few can beat a run with modded movement options casually run by another speedrunner. I really want to see Fir go for a serious FLUDD mod run to see how it stacks up against his actual speedrun leaderboard time.

I'd love to see an optimized version of this run too, the movements look so fun and fluid and watching runner invent new tech to go even faster is so cool.

Having both FLUDD and Cappy is an overpowered monstrosity. I hope there's a sequel to this mod in the future where the entire game is modified so that it's FLUDD-only and you can still 100% it. Also include the squirt nozzle if it isn't there.

the fludd movement looks very different from sunshine it definitely incentivises cheesing everything more. like look at how different hover nozzle is but cheesing everything can be fun !!!!!! imagining some fast paced platformer built around movement options like this sounds really fun

This shows how absolutely busted the fludd actually is A giant wall? Jump right pass it. Boss attacking? Just hover above it.

I love the sound effects! Particle effects are also pretty nice, though the Turbo Nozzle could do with a larger spray out the back.

I think it would be cool to see a fluud Hide and Seek round. It might have to be more limited to prevent a repeat of the Nicro incident but it would be cool to see the spots people come up with.

just to impress upon you how insanely optimized SMO speedruns are, if this run were somehow to get accepted to the leaderboard for World Peace it would BARELY make it into the top 50 times

Gamecube was my first console and Sunshine was my first 3D Mario. FLUDD is still my favourite of the mechanics of all the 3D Marios. That and Galaxy two's cloud flower... that was a powerup beyond the ages. Kinda wish they used the flight star but since they didn't, it is hard for that to be in the favourites category.
