Mario Odyssey Custom Levels in 2023 are Insane... 

It’s crazy how creative these mod-makers are getting, just shows how desperate we all are for a sequel to Odyssey…

This is making me wanna make another custom stage again, extremely beautiful

22:24 the ship, the moon name and some other stuff in it is all a reference to Super Mario RPG a fantastic Super Nintendo game and a some what of a "inspiration" to the Paper Mario series And for some other people who were big into newgrounds or gaming sprite animation you might recognize the ship and the name from a interesting series referred to as SMBZ (Super Mario Bros Z) Either way i love that the creator put it there (both the Sprite series and the Rpg game were my childhood) Edit: 23:44 this gigantic living sword is also a reference to the Mario Rpg game (I'm starting to think that this whole sub area is a different take + reference to "Bowser's place" in the rpg)

Tbh I thought the title was gonna be overhyping it but some of these moons like the moai ones were really cool, better than a lot of the filler in base SMO. I was blown away by the visuals and map design especially for that cloud area. 11/10 mod

The reason that the boss fight didn’t work because the sub area was the moon cave and that file had already completed the moon cave boss fight.

The first sub area was cool and the second was amazing but the last one was CRAZY! good job for whoever made this it just blows my mind.

I love the creativity of this person and I love the how different captures work together to get moons

2:23 OH MY GOSH THEY ADDED ANT TROOPERS INTO SMO (they're totally not just reskinned Goombas) I WILL TAKE IT I LOVE ANT TROOPERS SO MUCH. 2:40 IS THAT THE STAR EXPRESS FROM CAPTAIN TOAD? WHOA. Great addition!!!!! Everything in this whole mod is amazing. This is super creative!! Can't wait to see more stuff! I wish I could build things like this, but the most I could probably do is draw them...

Wow all those custom tilesets for details like the drybone and drybowser shells. Also the second area gives me the vibes of cloudtop cruise from MK8

The last 2 sub areas were probably inspired by Mario Kart 8 and this was a brilliant idea. The first one is really similar to Cloud Top Cruise (The Giant ? Block models are probably ported from this map, same for the ship that you thought was from mario galaxy). About the second one the creator used a part of the Grumble Volcano model, thats why there were some arrow signs near the floor. Btw this is probably the most impressive mod i have ever seen

Nobody else seems to be mentioning it, the train is from captain toad treasure tracker. tbh, this entire kingdom seems like a bit of a love letter to captain toad tt. underrated game

This mod is absolutely incredible, and having Fir's amazing commentary to go along with it just makes it even better!

That ship in the last subarea is a reference to the Axem Rangers, one of the coolest parts (at least for me as a kid) in Super Mario RPG on the SNES.

These were a lot of Super Mario RPG references. Climbing the vines into the sky kingdom. The volcano where the Axem Rangers ship was. My assumption was the fire boss from that game was supposed to spawn for that arena but I can see that that would be a ton of work.

I like the reference to captain toad treasure tracker with the train especially since their in association with each other.

The Axem Rangers was one of the main bosses in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and that was their ship Edit: Also the giant sword sticking out of the tower across from the boss arena was also a boss in Super Mario RPG

This is honestly super cool, if I had to complain, my main issues would just be the moon's names aren't that great (and the capitalization) and also there's clearly some limits because they had to reuse assets from SMO, but I don't expect a guy to completely model the kingdom themselves

The train is from Captain Toad Treasure Tracker! The regional coins are from there too!

The whole mod is a nod to captain toad. The spinning thing at 1:55 is from one of the levels. Same with the train at 2:32. Sub area 1 at 11:22 is 2-1. And the purple coin icon is the gems from captain toad.

First seeing bon-bone kingdom (If you'd call it that?) Instantly made me think of the original paper Mario at the desert train area, close to where you find the para koopa friend (I forgot his name..). (I'm not sure why I'm commenting this, I just feel the urge to.)

Like smash bros at first there were some model and texture changes but now people are making whole new characters from scratch for the game

Just makes me want to see hide and seek in each of those areas.
