For some context the reason the creative director is crying is because Miyamoto is literally his childhood hero, he spent 10 hours camping outside and frivolously visiting every single hotel for a chance to meet him when he heard that Miyamoto was visiting his hometown. Keep in mind he did this when he was a kid, so this is literally his dream coming true.
Sackboy I'm sure also the kind words from a legend like Miyamoto, who is someone that the whole gaming industry respects and admires immensely, would have made him feel pretty proud and very emotional as you can see. Was a great moment from this e3 and Ubisoft deserve the praise this year too, along with Nintendo
Scott W Yes, when he was a child he called around hotels to see where he was staying and camped outside in the rain for 10 hours just to meet Miyamoto. So for him to be able to have this opportunity years later and for Miyamoto to love your idea is literally a dream come true.
And some people mocked him for it. Until people pointed out, you're never going to get Miyamoto on stage to talk about your game, let alone name drop you. This guy got his idol, the reason why he wanted to make video games, to praise his game and give him proper credit.
If you had Shigeru freaking Miyamoto praising your game design, I'm sure you would dissolve into a puddle of tears. I know I would. What a fantastic scene.
And here we are, in 2021, after watching the reveal of a sequel. The most random crossover in gaming, and it's been incredible since the beginning. Looking forward to the future.
@CSmoke365 you won't regret it! It's incredibly fun, and probably one of the best looking games on the switch, honestly. Ubisoft totally nailed the art and animation. Maybe we should put THEM in charge of the Mario movie haha.
The first game was fantastic, but I never gave it the time it deserved, barely touching it after a short while thanks to a constant backlog of games/new games releasing. Really need to dive right in, as it was a pleasure to play it.
Definitely my favorite sleeper hit of the year. It was a pretty simplistic tactical shooter, but it had just enough strategy to keep my attention, and the focus on mobility with the jumping mechanic felt great throughout my entire playthrough. The sequel is an instant buy for me, which is pretty rare - especially from a Ubisoft title.
My sister brought the game with DLC and it's in bundle sale. I've always wanted to play this game and when I knew about the sequel, it got me wanting it even more.
Had to come here after Rayman was announced for Sparks of Hope. Love what Davide and his team have been able to accomplish with this weird crossover and can’t wait to play Sparks of Hope.
Glad Mario + Rabbids get a sequel coming in 2022. The first game was awesome and it's clear the team at Ubisoft who made the game are passionate Nintendo fans. Hype for the sequel!!!
I was just thinking of my man Davide the other day when Sparks of Hope was announced. So happy for him. Nobody really knew what to expect, and his game did well enough to garner a sequel!
Same. And IMO; my 2017 Game of the Year. I know alot of people would say Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Persona 5 would be on it and those are fine. But this. This is something more intriguing.
Man, the feels! Imagine, as a game dev, getting praise from the legendary Miyamoto. Itd be like a fantasy writer that was a Game of Thrones fan getting praise from George RR Martin
Such a weird and wonderful concept, but it worked perfectly. Hardly touched the game, really need to devote the time to play it again, especially as I purchased the DK DLC!
Miyamoto doesn't very like to speak english, it is very rare footage. And i love the moment, the creative Director cries. It is one of these magical E3 Moments
Looking back at this, I thought that this was going to be a one time thing, well I am glad that it isen't, because I really can't wait for the sequel to this game!!!
Would be interesting to see if Nintendo lets Ubisoft have fun with any more of its franchises, OR if we get another Mario + Rabbid collab in the future but through a different game genre. Not saying it would be a good idea per se, but after seeing the Rabbids mini game collection on the Wii, thought they’d be prime candidates to make some form of appearance in a Mario Party game. Or even a Rayman x Mario platform crossover..
pikafreaka is correct, I relate to this too in reverse really easily understanding and being able to read Japanese but speaking/writing it is much harder and I'd rather just have a friend translate it because I am not the best.
I would blame the initial reaction of the leak, I'm not mad at the leak, I'm mad at the negative reaction from the leak. They were working hard to make a good game and discourage when people didn't agree with the concept. I would like to see Davide's team would meet up with Xcom folks to make an ultimate turn based shooter.
Man, considering Starfield on Switch including Fox McCloud and the DK update on M+RKB I think Nintendo might get a shot on working on a Ubisoft property. Maybe they’ll help to make Rayman 4 or something.
What was the point of the trailer at the beginning? It showed nothing. I wouldn’t even consider it to be a gosh damn teaser trailer; that’s how pointless it was. AND, then Miyamoto comes out with a weapon from the game, and they just show the title screen. What? Why not show a trailer AND THEN talk about it! It makes no sense!
Jake_7978 Same for me. I was iffy on the first half of the game. But the more weapon and skills I unlocked, the more fun I had. So overall I do recommend this game
Got the game yesterday, and today I played this game 6 hours straight, I DID NOT expect this game to this fun. If you haven't gotten it yet man get it, you will not be disappointed at all.
I respect everyone who worked and is a fan of this game. But I don't understand why Mario Rabbids is so important to everyone. I just don't understand the hype around Rabbids I guess
@@TheOnomatopoeicPhysicist Ooohhhhh. Haha. Well I played pretty much every game with rabbids in them for the wii. So it's nice to see them still going.
