Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is a sports game developed and published by Sega for North America and Europe and was published by Nintendo for Japan.
The game was officially licensed by the International Olympic Committee through exclusive licensee International Sports Multimedia in 2005. It was the first official video game of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games to be released. The game was first announced by Sega and Nintendo on March 28, 2007. Sega showed the first screenshots and a movie of both versions of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games at E3 2007.
The game was known for being the first official crossover title to feature both Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, Nintendo and Sega's former rival mascots, along with other characters from the respective series. The player can assume the role as one of these characters while competing against the others in numerous Olympic events as well as fantasy events.

the menu song has been ingrained in my brain for over 10 years now atleast playing twice a week in my head, I have not seen this game for over 10 years now and I am baffled to finally hear the actual melody again. 😭

I found that a great strategy for Dream Boxing was to mimic Mike Tyson's Peekaboo Style i.e. Constantly dodging left and right and making them miss to land a hard hook counterpunch. If one keeps trying to dodge in the same direction the com will exploit, especially on hard.

I always struggled in the 100m Freestyle, and it was the only event that kept me from collecting crowns for all the characters. I've only been able to get 1st place with a few characters.

I've always wanted to ask about this: For some reason on my DS Bowser was the fastest at running, despite having the lowest stats for speed. And for some reason, sonic and shadow were definitely slower. Was my DS glitched out or something?? I've never discovered the truth behind this. I got like 9.43 on 100m with Bowser but could never break 9.6 with Sonic 😄
