A look at the different appearances and animations of Daisy from the Mario Strikers Series. 00:00 Super Mario Strikers 00:28 Mario Strikers Charged 01:46 Mario Strikers Battle League #Mario #Nintendo #Switch
They really should've kept the aggressiveness from Charged. Take that and add that with the graphics from Battle League and you've got a very expressive Mario game.
@@fluffydigby4055 I'm not 100% certian. Maybe it did pushed against the boundaries of Nintendo's "Code of Conduct" that has establish for Mario, but the aggressive tone and attitude from Charged really wasn't that bad; there was plenty of humor and cute animations to balance it out. It sure as hell made it more rememberable than your standard Mario sports game to date.
@@fluffydigby4055 Yes, I mean they would have announced the game earlier if Nintendo liked Charged. Next level games already had prototypes for the third mario strikers.
@@zeldaskywalker2096 if you can provide a source or something, it would be great. Not saying I don't believe you, just that I'm intrigued finding this out.
Strikers just hits different, and nostalgia plays a big part. I believe next level games had more creative freedom with strikers, hence why all characters are a big edgier, you get waluigi doin the "suck it" motion and risque peach
l wonder why Nintendo keeps downgrading the personality of their main characters from recent years Especially for this game, where that was one of the best things,
I miss the old daisyyyy!!! She was so serious in sports and really played into the dedication and competitive edge she had in all of the sports spin off games. 🥺 Now she’s just a mellow, obnoxious, softy. I loved her sore loser moments and her gloating moments more than anythinggg
Bruh shut up you're just saying that so you can be one of those kids who complains that they miss the old version of something whenever a newer and better version comes out when we all know damn well you like the new version better.
@@jadenmemegodess922 I literally have ONLY played the new version. 💀😭 I just liked daisy’s more aggressive attitude from before. It really set her in stone as the counterpart of peach.
@@christianr.5868 All she did was Pout (Like Peach) and said "Oh No!", and didn't stare at her teamates like she was about to kill them... and that's not Boring? Don't waste your time defedning this Forgettable Trash🤦♂️
I swear it's like everyone went to therapy after Strikers Charged, Daisy is late because she needed more time in the therapist chair and now everyone is less insane. 🤣
She honestly just isn’t slaying as much as she used to. Like bro, “Hot stuff” was actually funny and fit daisy and her energetic personality, now it just looks like she got yelled at for being too aggressive and she’s just existing now. Nintendo really makes us wait for free updates for this kinda stuff.
I must admit, Daisy's animations in the first two Strikers games are superior, but Battle League's animations had so much potential. If it weren't for them reusing Daisy's voice clips from almost twenty years worth of console Mario Kart games, her animations would have still been pretty good. I honestly anticipated them messing up/toning down her losing animation since they did it with everyone else's in Battle League compared to how they are in Charged.
Id's say animation in battle league is way better it just that the character acting doesn't represent the personality she had before which is why u like it less
I love her design and everything on battle league, but cmon the point of getting her in the game was seeing her all sour and mad when losing, that’s what made her so likable and fun on charged.
Not that hate other depictions of these characters, but it’d be real nice if they had this much personality in other games. I feel like they really hold back with what they could do with them.
Fun fact: they made a spin-off where you play as Princess Peach at one point. The perfect time to get to know Peach as a character, maybe her opinions on familiar characters. Fantastic chance for character development. That sounds cool, but I have the game, and Peach is almost entirely mute. Her parasol talks more than she does. No, seriously.
While I did enjoy her more aggressive animations I think the BL animations level her personality out really well. She seems more grounded and humbly confident in her overall skill and seems to reflect on herself rather than lashing out on the opposing team and her partners.
@@Chaos_867 Lmao, stfu. You do realize that her voice in Battle League is copy and pasted, right? They didn’t remake anything. So they never butchered or changed anything you fake outrager. 🤣🤡🤦♂️
If they were going to recycle old Mario Kart sounds they could’ve pulled some stuff from Double Dash. It would’ve been cute to hear her say “Aw, Froodle” when the other team scored a goal.
THANK U... u said the key word "Forced"! Especially her Lose Animation... Old Daisy would *EXPLODE* but this Garbage here, The New Victory Dance is OKAY.... but the "Hot Stuff" Victory Scene is the True Daisy💯
Her new losing animation is disappointing. I was hoping her losing animation would be similar to Charged with more emotion and personality. In Battle League she’s a little too calm. Her winning animation is good tho.
its cuz Nintendo's brand perception goals for mario has changed for the 2010s. You can see it in the new bland mario style they kept since the wii u with little deviation.
The SJW Community and Money brainwashed them and givin to their Commands😭 this Generation so Boring and Depressing🤦♂️Nintendo used to be *BETTER* than this man😔
@Xauve BullCrap🤦♂️ u just said "The Edge has it's Charm, and u prefer the old ones" and proceeds to defend the new Garbage🥱Just Admit the New One is a Mockery to the Previous one already😩Daisy should be Pissed like a Boss, not pouting like a Punk🤦♂️
@Xauve Sorry but THEY ARE less interesting than they used to and the edgy is what made strikers unique from the others sports games, now its just like the others except for the fluid animations and artwork. Or at least that's what i think.
I hate how they removed her animation from Strikers where she looks at her team like she about to open a whole can of whoop ass. That animation was lowkey kinda hot.
Daisy was made to be Peach's tomboyish semi-clone, but the way Nintendo gets their point across is very weird. Yes, we get it Nintendo, you want us to shut up calling Daisy a Peach clone. Even so, I'm happy she's in the game. Sure they had to tone down some things for Daisy to keep the E10+ rating in Battle League, but I'm happy with the animations overall. That loss animation in Battle League is strange though. I see that they didn't want to copy Peach's loss animation and give it a reskin for Daisy.
The only thing I disagree with here is the idea of Daisy being a Peach doppelganger. Yes, even though she's been looking like Peach since her inception, she isn't Peach. Nintendo themselves, to my knowledge, has never called Daisy a Peach doppelganger.
@@victoriabell9546 Okay, I admit. Daisy looked too similar to Peach in her earlier appearances most people back in the 90s thought that Daisy was just Peach's tomboyish doppelganger. I'm glad you realize that Daisy and Peach are different characters. Let's be honest, Daisy is more like Peach's tomboyish semi-clone.
@@victoriabell9546 You just said Nintendo doesn’t see them as clones. There’s your proof. No other character was treated like this in smash. Previous games even had daisy has a peach skin.
@@dragowolf268 that how you get the girls just be Luigi don’t be Mario because Luigi is much better he could jump higher and he gets the girl you might think Mario is always with peach but nah at the end of odyssey our red spaghetti plumber got dumped and look at Luigi he is still scoring
I wish the crystal elements of Daisy's aesthetic were kept here. Even more for her exaggerated personality traits(that just applies to everyone though, made the whole edgy aesthetic goofy with how every characters has issues and is angry at everything). At least the music will still be a banger.
I totally understand why people don't like the change from her losing her temper to her just being disappointed; but if I'm being honest, her new animations are adorable and I love them!
I agree. I also miss the old Daisy. The part where Daisy lost her temper when losing. Yeah and I miss the old Daisy too. She was more competitive than she still is now. She was more aggressive whenever she lost a Strikers match. Now in the new Super Mario Strikers game, Daisy is now disappointed when she loses And for the 3rd time, I miss the old Daisy.
Yh theyre adorable but it kind of defeats the purpose of her veing a tomboy. Shes supposed to be extremely competitive, but she just looks sad when she loses
It's almost like the officials in the GSF told Daisy "We noticed you have a rather bad temper and aggressive attitude, we would ask that you do not show the behavior like you shown in previous Striker tournaments as it is not good for the audience or other players."
I miss the old Daisy. She was more aggressive back then. Its like Nintendo decided to remove Daisy’s aggressive personality :( I miss Daisy’s old losing animation. Whenever Daisy lost a Mario-strikers match, she completely loses her temper. Now, whenever Daisy lost a Mario-strikers match, she is disappointed. I also missed Daisy’s “Hot Stuff” winning animation. That made Daisy slay! I’m sure everyone else misses the old Daisy, right? If you miss the old Daisy 👇🏼
@@jakeystarsuper Desperately trying to help yall, but whatever Pal🤷♂️apparently u and BL Fan's preference on Daisy that u prefer her being a Worse Peach Clone... I guess u won tho, but at least Battle League gotten a Bad Reputation that is definitely deserves
You know, I really like Daisy in Mario Strikers Battle League. Remember guys we are not in a distopic world where everyone is angry or more aggressive, now we are playing with some friends in Space. Good times indeed. Jokes aside, this is amazing honestly. Nintendo has been changing the personality of their games since thee Wii U. And dont get me started on Paper Mario's Blandness. But yeah, this is better that expected.
It just sounds like Daisy got a squeakier voice over time, just like Ruby Rose from RWBY. I like Daisy, but MAN her voice is shrill. Part of me wishes they'd reused clips from the old Strikers instead, where it was a bit lower.
@@fiora2822 I mean to be fair this is all Daisys personality, from both games her reactions are what Daisy would do, she’s not overly competitive or have much attitude in any other entries anyway, if I remember correctly the difference in personality from Peach and Daisy is that Peach is hella boujee, and Daisy is super sweet
@@DrippleDragon thats been the case for the past few years but before that in almost every single appearance daisy was more tomboyish and had an attitude and in the party games where peach would act gracefully in every animation daisy wouldn't even waste a second to taunt and insult the other team. But over the years they've been toning it down and right now daisy is just a reskin of peach with small remnants of what she originally was
@@jakeystarsuper yes, but they try to make her so similar to peach when she isnt. Her personality is what makes her different and nintendo just watered it down to be more peach-like
I think the animations are fine people are just hating on the toned down version of rage. Like I think it's fine since I would probably be the same and not rage that hard just cuz I lost a point. Only when getting absolutely trashed
If you were in a warlike game, where every point matters, you would act like a different person (more aggressively because of the intensity of a match and trying to work as a team, while also being slammed into an electric fence, getting burned/blown up/frozen/bitten (by a chain chomp)). Battle League really doesn't give off those vibes, unlike Charged where people are either visibly exhausted or visibly enraged by their failure as a team despite their efforts.
It feels like she matured, Which is something I usually don’t like In video games where human characters don’t age. I dunno it just feels like too much of a change when it doesn’t need to be.
imo battle league isn't a mario strikers game, it is a generic mario soccer game. It has the modern nintendo polish, but with horribly regressed characters, they are all too plain compared to both preivious strikers games which gave them some attitude, making them stand out, and they chose to play it safe. Add it to the list of nintendo games that add content that should have been there on release, and you get a flop. Also i don't think daisy has any new voice lines that hasn't been the same, boring reused ones from the past years outside of "coming through" maybe.
