I love how when she says the production team is like "you goin to make another char" and her response is like when a child plants their feet and says "NO" to their parents. No further than this Matt. You may have taken her char.. but you will never take HER FREEDOM!!!!! But ya, I'm glad to see someone be like "no, fuck that. I want to play that character and if I can't, then I can sit out".

If you listen to Matt he isn't saying she's definitely coming back. Just that there will be the potential for a solution. Could straight up not happen with a bad roll or it could happen but with consequences. I think this is extremely fair and doesn't ruin the stakes at all, especially since Matt already makes resurrecting characters a lot harder than RAW Also Laudna rules 💀

Some people are saying that Marisha wants Laudna to stay because of her popularity, but I don’t think that’s the primary case. I don’t think it’s for the fan service, although it is understandable because of all the nasty backlash that came with Keyleth in the past. I personally think this is because she genuinely appreciates this character who she put a lot of mechanics and lore into and she wants to keep playing her in the game. How many times Matt will throw her a bone on this matter however, that is the question.

Totally respectable. Sometimes it's just easier to make a new character, but in cases like this, it's so much better if that same character stays. The fact that she was willing to miss a bunch of sessions to ensure the story was that much better, is a sign of devotion to good story telling. I can't imagine how rough it would have been to just drop another character in at that time. She made the right call. I have so much respect for her.

Laudna is by far her best character so far. First one that i think unanimously people like

Marisha: Character Loyalty

As someone who hasn’t seen all of CR 1 or 3 but all of CR 2. I do love all of Marisha’s characters. Beau’s my favorite due to the 400 hour exposure I’ve had to her. Seeing a personal journey of growth and self actualization. Kiki I just didn’t get… until I saw the Kiki drunk compilation. Then I realized that she was deep and complex and hid her feelings about A LOT unless she was drunk. Had issues about the fact her mom was presumably dead, taking her place as the voice of the tempest, never feeling like she’s enough. My god it makes sense now! Then laudna came in and got me to rip my own heart and shove it into a phylactery for her.

This episode was hilarious because Matt makes an adorable trash robot.

Yup. As my old GM once said to a crestfallen player: "Chin up. Don't think about this misfortune as the end of adventure. Think about it as a start of new adventure leading to resurrection.". Then he ran a complete mini-campaign with us, where we worked our collective butts off to get into good graces of a powerful Archmage, until crotchety old bastard deigned to cast that one Resurrection spell we needed to get our buddy back. Good times.

Marisha would be the person Marlon Brando would try to make an offer to, Marisha says emphatically, "NO!", and the Godfather is like, "I made her an offer I thought she wouldn't refuse. It turns out, she refused my offer."

Im glad she is waiting and they have an opportunity to bring her back. Laudna has hands down been the best character mirisha has created and still feels like there is a lot of potential in her story. I'd honestly be devastated if we lose Laudna, Fern or Chetney during the campaign because they all at least for me seem like some of the best characters each of them have made.

I had been wondering whether or not Marisha was starting to feel like "Guys, just let it go already so I can play again" off to the side, so I'm glad that she's happy to wait for it.

Love the commitment. It shows how much she loves the character and i think i would do the same.

it’s not surprising her cherictors a hollow possessed by daliahla. If they take to long daliahla might take things into her own hands and wake her up. Plus I also have a feeling that do to her previous status a reserection might not be necessary. Just get a necromancer or worlock to cast raise undead and she would just wake up. I mean as a hollow her body is prity much just necromantic magic anyway. Ye she loses the hollow state and becomes a full undead but she’s back and probably gained some litch or revanent subclassing do to being fully aligned with her magic type and not just partially like before.

Taliesin had a character with a murky past involving resurrection who dies again and rolls a new character with the old one only coming back at the end marisha has a similar character who also dies and is like "I'm going to keep playing her even if I have to wait while they lug my corpse halfway around the world"

As someone who has not liked Marisha's previous characters, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Laudna! She's one of my favorites this season.

I love how Matt is handling this as well, it would have been real easy to handwave it and say "yeah she comes back" or just say "no, she's gone." Making them work for it and have her possibly losing her warlock abilities is awesome and I love every second of it.

I do like laudnas character a lot but I hope this doesn’t become too much of a trend in the future. I feel like a story is nothing without stakes and it was hard for her revival to feel earned when we went through campaign 1 characters to do it. I know Whitestone c1 events were apart of her backstory to begin with but I just hope we don’t see pc’s getting revived long after their death in the future. Also as someone who hasn’t watched campaign 1 and probably never will due to the quality of those old streams and the fact that it doesn’t start at the beginning of the campaign I’m kinda tired of hearing about c1 characters showing up wether they’re pc or npc’s because they aren’t always explained enough for context for new viewers to really latch onto them. This didn’t feel nearly as noticeable in campaign 2 when I started watching but maybe it’s just that I now know more about c1 from giving it a try, watching the animated series, and just hearing them bring it up so often in videos that I never noticed them doing it in c2 idk.

I like Beou but Laudna is just perfect for this campaign. I mean they have a talking robot, a wood obsessed pocket sized werewolf, a telepath, a glass brained barbarian with weird chaos magic, yoda with a shield, and a pyromancer Faun that is also a kleptomaniac… and a flaming monkey that throws napalm turds. What’s not to love?

I haven’t gotten super deep in to bell’s hells/campaign three yet because I haven’t watch vox machina yet I have watched the first season of the show and that’s how I discovered critical role. Campaign three seems to have the most ties to vox machina and idk I find the first campaign harder to get into I am currently early into campaign 2 which I really like I like the characters more than VM so far at least in comparison with the show.

I cant say I like them knowing they can pretty much get ressed somehow just cause they want to... But I get it, and Matt can make it work without it being silly and can make them work for it. Laudna is the one character where it kinda makes sense to get ressed and there's a lot of cool stuff around Delilah/being undead/posessed that could come from it. Plus Matt kinda said he's gonna make them work for it cause resurrection isnt readily available for anyone. Also, Laudna being prolly Marishas best char so far and seemingly widely beloved, it makes sense she'd wanna keep playing her. Not that what anyone but Marisha wants matters...

This does make me wonder what all the other players would choose to do. I feel like Travis would absolutely let Chetney go, but what about Laura, Sam, and Taliesin?

I'm sure a lot of people are probably salty about them going out of the story's way to force a probable revive, but I think what the cast wants matters as much as the story itself. Their passion is as integral to CR being as fun as it is. If this is what she/they want, I'm all-in for it.

I, personally, was waiting for a Laudna death so we could finally jump into the Delilah action already, even if derailing the topic at hand is a bit tacky (but I think the moment with Otohan that kicked it off that the best that could happen, playing off her bond with Imogen). Think like the Molly/Lucien thing, but way better. Laudna and the Delilah patron was the most interesting thing in the party, and the only ones there with such rich story potential besides Orym and maybe FCG, so it's nice to it finally kick in! Hey, Delilah!!

I am not a pvp player but here are my thoughts you need to get trials loot from trials matches win or loose and I think we will start to see more pvp stuff in the final shape year of destiny we will probably get a new mode and a new map with updated maps between season new map old map new mode old map as the cadence

For any other character I would think it’s time to make a new char if they died but I’m biased towards Laudna she’s gotta stay.

personally I don't mind Laudna as a character but I do feel like a lot of her popularity is because is pretty much just fan service for Campaign 1 and the reason so many other campaign 1 characters are now appearing in C3 so much. Which I'm not a fan of at all. The new campaigns should be their own thing and not have to rely on popular characters from past campaigns showing up all the time.

I do think it is kinda lame that they're forcing story in direction of bringing her coming back. It makes none of what happens matter. So early in the campaign to make death mean nothing is yet another reason why this prerecorded season does not catch my attention like the last two.

I hate to say it but I don't like this take having a player death is sad but can be great for the story also it takes away from the threat of combat if you can just be like no I want to play my character I dont want to make a new one.
