@@billyalarie929 like real cops? What do you know about real cops...I've seen real cops and real troops/military help people in horrible situations and do brave things. Lol eh what am I doing arguing with some random youtuber you dont even know 99.999999999%of those in law enforcement gang units and homicide units across the nation, I've seen my own uncle shot 3 times while trying to get a 7 year old girl out of line of fire from her rapist uncle, even with all the crooked cops there are plenty that are good, and do help people. But you wouldn't know anything about that. That head-up-your-own-ass syndrome must suck, hope theres a pill for you one day. Lol as for the unstable/stability of a fictional cop...well that doesn't matter much. But cops are human last time I checked Lol I always love when random fruit flys on RU-vid talk about who has and who doesn't have a backbone. Easy for you to say from behind your Android phone keyboard. Yes military men, cops, firefighters right they dont have backbones, cause Willie over here says so. And how many cops do you actually know...and their back story? Their history ? I'm fairly sure Lt. Joe Kenda (the homicide hunter detective) you know the one that's had that show for the past 9 years on the ID Channel. Sure they dramatize and it's a show but hes very respected by many people, and he doesn't use a script when talking in front of camera for each episode/case. He had a 27 year career with Colorado Springs PD. Including 413 homicide cases with an 87% solved/(from red to black as they call it in homicide). Real cops = THE WIRE (HBOs hit drama based in my hometown of Baltimore Maryland) i.e the heroin Capitol for over 20 years. The single greatest drama TV has ever produced, it's still being taught at major ivy league colleges. David Simon and Ed burns, they wrote the 1991 book homicide life on the street (a year in the killing fields/neighborhood) which became the hit NBC show Homicide: Life on the street w future law an order detective John munch. Then they wrote the 2nd book about baltimores long/deeply entrenched open air drug market on the streets book called THE CORNER which also became the hit HBO 6 part mini series in (2000) also aptly named THE CORNER. Then came the big one. THE WIRE (2002-2008) 60 episodes over 5 seasons, critically acclaimed ...it was not built in Hollywood no plot armor, real ex cons, real locales in the city, very little green screening, storylines adapted from real life cases. Both in the realistic portrayal of real police and on the real street with no camera we see it each and every day cops and detectives bringing closure to cases getting justice for victims and their families....and yet they have no backbone....lol and YOU DO ? lol....(eye roll)......riiiiggghhhtttt. lol
@@PapagenoMF Thank you! I thought that's what I typed in but the autocorrect on my phone jumps through with a quickness. I'll be in the process of sending something and it ends up being totally different from what I intended. I can even hear "him" laughing from time to time!! Lol. Again, thank you!
Okay she’s been with Peter Hermann too long because her “that’s funny” at 4:50 is exactly what she said he said when they met each other on the set of SVU.
Mariska, I am Italian and when you speak italian I fall on my kneees and cry moved. You are an amazing actress and I you are an equally amazing person. Your simpathy is eaxtraordinary! Greetings from TURIN ( ITALY)
@@moimeself1088 I also had no clue what it meant and had to google the phrase. I thought it peculiar that it seemed expected that everyone should understand it when even Stephen Colbert had a decided blank stare in response to the phrase.
She ages so beautifully! In my opinion Mariska is the only person that gets sexier with age furreals. I'm not even gay but this women gets me hot. She plays a badass role on SVU, more importantly she is funny IRL with a down to earth vibe.
@@touchofgrey5762 It's photoshopped - from the smokin jay cutler tumblr page that pays tribute to the "zero eff's given" look that Cutler has mastered.

Kasha Bee If so, (& that’s a big if. There are many men & women that naturally age well) it’s a wonderful result. Reconstructive surgery doesn’t always give a good result.
Don't forget to check out and support Mariska's 'Joyful Heart Foundation'. She really goes the distance to help people on and off screen. Huge heart filled with love !!! Beautiful lady and so humble.
You can choose the Joyful Heart Foundation to receive money every time you purchase on Amazon.com. Look up Amazon Smile, chose Joyful Heart as your charity!
I like that and do you remember the episode when a little girl went missing and the perp was found at his home, Ice-T and Mariska had the man handcuffed sitting on the bed and Mariska was looking at a computer I think and the perp try to rush Mariska and she elbow-slapped him and he went down quickly. That scene was powerful and I can't remember the episode number or season but they found the girl buried alive and got her breathing again.
Considering that she witnessed her mothers horrible death and the deaths of her mothers boyfriend and their driver at the age of three, and was alone with their bodies for an hour or more, she seems remarkably well-adjusted. I'm not sure I would be.
I love me some Mariska and Law and Order: SVU and I'm so glad that they film here in my city and borough. I can't wait until Season 21. It's going to be juicy. They are trying to break the original Law and Order's record and seasons. I think they are going to go to Season 22 and then end the series for good. I will be very sad if that happens.
Is anyone else both glad “SVU“ was picked up for a 21st season and sad that it’s still so relevant? On a lighter note , I wonder if that “Double OG in the 1 PP“ line made it into the show ? guess we will find out tonight , and I really hope it did!
It's not that relevant anymore, the ratings have been going down steady ever since the show (SVU) became more about Benson's private and professional life.
By it still being relevant, dttruman, i’m referring to the continued fight against rape/sexual assault. I am both glad that it’s coming back for a 21st season, and it’s sad that there are still so many stories out there to give it material to work with. In short, I disagree that it’s no longer relevant.
@@DorvellTStewart The only reason why people think it's relevant is that most are members of the Olivia Benson Fan Club. When the rape or murder investigation of a special victim is secondary to Benson's personal problems or the the social/political issue they want to spotlight in most of the episodes now, it loses some of it's quality that was so prevalent in the first few seasons.
Coming from a very famous Father and Mother - Jane Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay she is one of the most down to earth, sweet, honest people I have ever seen. And I am from Indianapolis Indiana and her father used to live here. Around 1954 or 1955 our next door neighbor came over and said "there is a guy cutting the grass in a speedo with a build like a body builder". We went over in the car and saw him - no shirt and cutting the grass in just a tiny bottom. It was Mickey Hargitay before he moved out to LA to marry Jane Mansfield.
I remember watching a movie of his on RU-vid. It was pretty campy but still fun. Didn't realize until I read the description that he was Mariska's dad. The name of the movie is "Bloody Pit of Horror".
I feel like everyone was too scared to laugh. It's like they can't believe she's an actress and that she's really light hearted 😂 😂 😂 She must come to #TheLateFlightShow where we know how to deal 😂 😂 😂
This guy is such a geek, let her talk - what is it with these geeky talk show hosts when they have beautiful women? Its okay to talk if it fits the conversation, but this guy and Conan throwing in their stupid jokes is so annyoying.
Forever I have absolutely admired this woman as a professional, an actor and an obvious intellectual (by the manner of her execution of the character) and an absolutely stunning human being. Sadly I'll never meet her but wow, what a woman! Healthy attitude, brilliant, powerfully grounded and solidly empowered.
Absolutely love her, the every series since the beginning has really been great, just bought the DVD series of Chicago fire dept, wooow what a great series, got all the old series of law and order pus SVU and the unit unable to remember the name,
@Warren Knight Yeah. So let me help you out as you seem a bit lost, even though you're a fan of Dick Wolf's shows. So, really quick, the series set in Chicago is actually called Chicago Fire. No dept or department. Okay. Also there's Chicago MED, and Chicago P.D. in Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise. There briefly was a Chicago Justice, but, it only lasted one season and was cancelled. So, next, for Dick Wolf's slightly more well-known franchises, which would be most of the Law & Order franchises, here's a list of all of those for you: Law & Order: Actually tied Gunsmoke as the longest running night time live action drama and Stephen just skipped right over that particular bit. Law & Order: SVU Mariska's show, apparently renewed for a 21st season, which means longer than BOTH Gunsmoke AND the original Law & Order. S.V.U. is the Special Victims Unit. Law & Order: Criminal Intent. That series lasted 10 seasons total, with Vincent D'Onofrio as Robert Goren and Kathryn Erbe as Alexandra Eames, the two longest running stars of that series. Both detectives work for the Major Case Squad, even though the show is not called M.C.S. Law & Order: LA (Originally called Law & Order: Los Angeles) Another short-lived series. One season, set in Los Angeles, instead of New York. Skeet Ulrich and Alfred Molina were the two detectives. Corey Stoll replaced Skeet Ulrich. Terrence Howard and Alana de la Garza the D.D.A.'s. In New York, they are typically A.D.A.s or Assistant District Attorneys. In California, they are Deputy District Attorneys. Peter Coyote played the District Attorney. De la Garza plays Connie Rubirosa, the role she originated on Law & Order. Law & Order: LA was cancelled due to low ratings, partially due to the cast shake-up where Skeet Ulrich left and was replaced by Corey Stoll. It lasted a full 22 episodes, which aired out of chronological order. Law & Order: Trial By Jury Jerry Orbach, who for 12 seasons played Det. Lennie Briscoe on Law & Order, joined T.B.J., reprising his role as Det. Briscoe. Sadly, Jerry passed away from cancer during Trial by Jury's first season. His death after two episodes was never addressed and the show's consistently low ratings against CBS's hit Numb3rs, doomed the series to one brief 13 episode season. Conviction Also a Dick Wolf series, it was technically set in the Law & Order franchise universe, but was mistakenly not called Law & Order: Conviction. Another short-lived series, Conviction focused primarily on brand new, just out of law school rookie A.D.A.s. It began in 2006 on NBC and is not related to ABC's 2016 series of the same name, though both were set in New York. NBC's Conviction starred Stephanie March as A.D.A. Alex Cabot, safely out of Witness Protection, where she ended her 3rd season on S.V.U. Conviction used many of Trial by Jury's sets, as it debuted 1 year after T.B.J. Conviction debuted. It was also routinely beaten in the ratings wars by Numb3rs, subsequently leading to its ultimate cancellation after 13 episodes. Hope that helps.☺
@@toddvandell85 thank you very much for your help, sadly we haven't got all these series here, but they are very good series of what we get, especially from the American perspectives, I am watching the fire series at the moment and am very impressed with the episodes, sadly I have not been able to purchase many in recent years as was injured and illness from work 5 year's ago and on the government disability benefits which doesn't permit luxury items, but I was able to afford this one only. Thank you again for your email it really is amazing list of information. Many regards Warren.
I enjoy Colbert but almost every single guest has awkward moments with him.... and he can’t or doesn’t want to save them ! He should have saved Mariska at the end of her goofy story with a laugh or some witty comment
