Brilliant comeback from Adhik after AAA and Bhageera. Happy for him. He makes unabashedly goofy, quirky dramas that are unapologetically over-the-top yet entertaining. It's a very thin line which he treads with such precision and finesse. Takes guts to continue riding your luck in these sensitive genres especially after 2 back to back flops. Shows the confidence he has in himself and clarity of thought.

A lot of people including myself have raved about Malayalam movies n how they are so original n their writing so strong.. but the one area where Tamil cinema pips all the other movie industries in the country is in the sheer versatility of the film makers.. Tamil cinema delivers both money n quality bcoz of the versatility n they aren’t a one horse race.. We need Lokesh Kanagaraj as much as we need the likes of Vignesh Shivan, Adhik, Sudha, Nelson, TK n more others.

Omg!!!!!! The movie was so hilarious😂 Had a good laugh after a long time. I was so afraid that Tamil film industry was only going to give gory action movies. Thanks to director Adhik, we have got one gem of a movie. Real entertainer. SJ Surya was awesome 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I’m definitely going to watch again. Guys, keep up the brilliant work 👍👍👍

Finally we are in a new era of bold, whacky, original Tamil films that push the audience outside the comfort of conventional story telling! Although not in the same league as Nelson’s Doctor where just about every character came through brilliant, here Surya does almost all of the heavy lifting. But as BR says, still the movie works out as a whole thanks to a spiffy screenplay and a few brilliant scenes like the one with Silk!

The first time I saw it on the OTT platform, I was completely taken in by this whacky , mindless total entertainer. Watched it 3 times nonstop, just to watch SJ. Suryah in every frame. What a phenomenal actor. His subtle nuanced performance in Jigarthanda Double X to this over the top performance was an experience. Suryah had me in splits everytime I watch his iconic scenes in the movie. The Director and the entire team 👏 🙌 👌

This movie is very much like back to the future Indianised version. only difference being the scientist and the namesake hero vishal takes a back seat in Mark Antony. It is SJ Surya-Adhik movie.

Simbu destroyed Vignesh Sivan in Poda Podi but he cameback because of Nayanthara. Simbu destroyed Nelson in Vettai Mannan but now he became Tier 1 Director after Jailer. Simbu destroyed Aadhik Ravichandran in AAA but now he comes back in Mark Anthony.

SJ Suryah was on 🔥 🔥 Vishal was not a good fit, his Mark character was poorly performed. Screenplay was spot on, finishing was proper masala. Shout out to Sunil, great to see him in more Tamil cinemas

he usually likes if a movie has a lot of scenes that involve thought process .. this one had plenty , like : setting boundaries for the fantasy world, the small boy n mother having a convincing mass scene, SJ surya's fun track when he calls his dad ... SJS calling vishal to stop his own killing in the first half ..!these were some of the brilliant scenes.. The making was in retro-pop flavour .. settings, cinematography - everything takes a lot of effort in making.. even i felt, stroy wise it was an average affair ... but BR tends to appreciate the making most of the times..
