Mark visited us at Elmhurst Middle School in Oakland, Ca around 1994!!! He gave us a free show, he performed in the auditorium. He had us hysterical, falling out our seats, and in tears. Most of us never had our worlds interpreted through the humor of a skillful comedian, LIVE, and up close as we did that day. I dont think I ever laughed that much, IT WAS MAGICAL 😁 It was No surprise to me that Mark went on to host popular television shows and starred in his on sitcom🤔 Bro Curry is Amazing 👏👏👏👏

I remember when I was 8 years old in 98' and too short and baby D were shooting the get your hustle on video at arroyo Park and during the down time between scenes they were just playing music and Mark Curry was in the middle of the park so u could see him from wherever you were and he grabbed this crack head lady from the crowd and danced with her and was twirling her like a princess and the gratitude and thankfulness that was in her eyes as her tears flowed could've melted hearts of stone and was one of the most legendary things I've ever seen
I've been a HUGE fan of Mark Curry since I was a kid back in the 1990s. And I've always felt no matter how big he got he was always humble, authentic, and never went Hollywood. And like Too Short, Curry always paid homage to Oaktown and knew where he came from.
The best thing about this interview. He kept this interview pretty much drama free. He didn’t added any punch line on Whitney, Pryor or Cosby. Vlad tried but at least he respected Curry enough to move on. Even his personal life. Good for him. This interview won’t get any numbers because of the limited drama.
I noticed how this is one of Vlad's shortest interviews. Curry didn't have too much to say about street life and other forms of degradation of culture. Coincidence? Maybe.
everything is connected Didn't you hear the part near the beginning of the frame when Mark discussed what drugs did to Oakland in the 1980s. Shit, Vlad put up an interview with a bonafied crack dealer that ran for a while. On the other hand, I think Vlad was more concerned with Mark's career than the ills of street life in this interview.

I loved Mark's family his mom showed me her mercedes mark bought her. I was her and her family Make up at my clinic on Lakeshore Ave in Oakland. Mark always gave block parties for the people. Nice people. I love the Currys. I remember Dock of the bay In Berkeley. Those were the good old days. We loved Oakland!
He should do his show on RU-vid...he can make it independent...he will kill it and do very well.. or just have a stand up special on Netflix and rebuild his empire from there...respect n love to Mark Curry💯✊

Been a fan of Mark since I first saw him on his HBO special in the 80’s, his bit about the girlfriend being brave talking smack to another dude still makes me laugh hard. Great interview.

Mark was a Manger at Vern's market. And he caught me stealing, without calling the police he let me go. Then as a security guard at Chanel ,he came in and reminded him of that incident. He said 'I did ?' Then said what did I do . I told him you'll me go. Then he started talking about how to get timing on a joke. VERY DOWN TO EARTH MAN 👨

Is Vlad infatuated with the The Drug and Gang era of the 80’s and early 90’s or what? He spent almost 15 minutes talking about it. So funny Curry kept mentioning comedy during this span and then went with put the respect on my name. It’s true. Very underrated in comedy.
Man, I'm glad I watched this. I did not know Curry was offered a role on In Living Color (ILC). He chose Hangin With Mr. Cooper (HWMC) over ILC. I would have did the same thing. Curry got more creative control on HWMC, he was a producer on that show, and etc. FOX was fuckin with the Wayans family from day one on what they could and couldn't do on ILC, especially Keenen. Curry dodged a bullet on that career move. ILC is a classic, but the shit FOX took the Wayans family through from 1990 to 1993, man!!
I loooove me some Mark Curry. He is most definitely underated and need the recognition he deserves. I just recently finished binge watching his show HWMC(Hangin With Mr. Cooper) and when I tell Yu I was not disappointed, however I wasn't ready for the show to end. Especially without seeing Mark and Vanessa get married at least. I also loved Omar Goodin(Ervin) on the show he was so funny and I loved their friend ship on the show. Oan I'm so glad Yu are still here with us and pray that Yu continue on doing what Yu love. Love Yu soooo much Mark stay humble God bless and hope to see more of Yu....🙏🏽💯😍👌🏾 Maybe a reboot or whatever just want to see more.. 💯👌🏾😊💗💗💗
There is something the way Mark Curry acts out a joke that sucks the wind out of your chest. Laughing is involuntary. I’m a comic. I’ve seen a ton of comics and this is the only dude that almost made me pass out from laughing so hard. It’s a toss up between Curry and Attell as my all time favorite comic
