I like Beau Weaver's voice better because he had a cheerful voice and the music's toned down a bit. Like, "Thanks for joining us for this special preview! And now our Feature Presentation!"
How has he not been he's been with the company from 1983-2008 that's 25 years, no disrespect to the likes of Robert Downey Jr., but why induct people who are best know for Marvel before Mark Elliot
And the voice of the Disney trailers just passed away :( Disappointed it happened over Easter weekend out of all days of the year. RIP Mark Elliott 1939-2021 May your legacy forever be your Feature Presentation
The most recognizable voice on the planet. The man behind all the classic Disney movie trailers like Aladdin, The Lion King, Pinocchio, The Aristocats, you name it.
RIP Mark; your magical voice will always be associated with the Wonderful World of Disney. And thank you Chuck and Stacey for having Mark come and share his story as well as a lot of laughs. There truly will be another Mark Elliott.
My childhood was made special thanks to this man, may he rest in peace with Hal Douglas and Don LaFontaine and bring another timeless voice to the heavens above.
1:46 - Mark Elliott’s radio experience 5:18 - why did Mark change so many stage names? 10:30 - what was the popular style back then? 13:50 - first voice over job for TV 18:54 - DISNEY! 22:39 - Marc shares a touching story about being recognized 25:10 - how does Marc get that warm sound in the reads? 28:38 - were directors guiding Marc? 30:38 - about “In a World”
That voice makes you feel like a he's your dad taking you and the family to Disneyland. Him, Hal Douglas, and Don LaFontaine made movies and TV shows epic.
Even though Mark is in his late 70's, his voice is exactly the same as it was when I heard it on all of those Disney videotapes I used to watch all the time in the 90's and the early 00's. I've heard his voice for many years but didn't really know who it was until now. It's great to finally see him in person in this video and learn more about how got the job working for Disney in the first place. This is awesome !!
I feel hurt that he has passed away...😔 Mark Elliot was truly the best childhood icons when it comes to voice on promos and trailers for Disney, Warner Bros, MGM/UA and various others in VHS tapes I owned. His voice is what still makes him alive and so legendary. He will always be in our hearts. Rest in Peace, Mr. Elliot. 🙏😞😢
22:10 OMG! It IS the Disney Movie Trailer Voice Actor! I can't believe I finally I get to see and get to know the name of the Voice Over actor who announces on Disney Movie Trailers and says "And now our Feature Presentation!" for Disney VHS releases.
Glad I'm seeing this now. Just after the passing of the great Mark Elliot a fellow Iowa boy and VO actor. What a great interview. Love hearing his history and stories n touching moments of his career and life. I need a Sheila in my life.
Cool video. As an animation historian, we are lucky to have had a tremendous man doing voice-over work for The Walt Disney Company. I cannot tell you how much he needs to be recognized.
He should still be employed by Disney doesn't matter if it's classics like Pinocchio Snow White Bambi Fantasia or Disney Renaissance era favorites such as Aladdin Beauty and The Beast The Lion King Or more recent Disney movies like Zootopia or Wreck it Ralph Frozen or Moana this man with his voice and narration can suck you right in and convince you that the latest Disney animated feature could be an instant classic. It sucks he's no longer employed full time with Disney.
Without voice over trailers are nothing, I don't want to read the text we should have narrators do that for us, today we have Ashton Smith, Howard Parker, & Allistair Lewis as voice over in trailers but there TV Spots instead of actual trailers
I didn't know Mark was the narrator for two Nintendo/Square Enix video games Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age!!!!!! Amazing!
rest in peace mr elliott. may your voice be remembered for disney and many others. and when it comes to the personifications i have made of various logo's over the years, you'll always be remembered as being the vocal inspiration of the navy blue feature presentation logo (navy blue for short), and walt disney home video. -Sequoyah p.s hello vobuzz. :)
He was the voice of my childhood. I mean yeah he voiced those feature presentation logos that scared me so much as a kid and still scare me honestly, but hearing him like this and seeing him speak, he seems so nice... it makes me a little less scared of the old feature presentation logos. When i really think about it i think the music and font is what scared me most about that logo from disney.
He did trailer voices for Toy Story & A Bug's Life from pre-release TV spots to home video release commercials, Pixar TV spots had a different trailer voice starting with Toy Story 2.
after fighting most of my life for a dream that never really came true I never thought my passion would replenish. VO has given life back to my passion and the mere fact that music didn't completely destroy my passion to create and entertain, means there is still hope for me. This channel has been my master class and my coach, my network and my bucketlist all in one. THANK YOU for giving me something to look fwd to. Even in the dark hours of self reflection and the constant beating my head against the wall trying to figure out my next move or what I should be doing, its all better knowing that I can come to this channel and just absorb for hours at a time. I appreciate you Chuck and Stacey, for giving me sanctuary and pumping up my passion. Who knows what i will be able to manifest from it but I wont stop trying to grow, learn, embody and develop my God given talents until I stop breathing and i owe a small piece of that to you guys. In music you can get discovered and that takes on some of the angst of not knowing what to do next but even as a signed artist, no one knew what to do with me until such time as an adult I had to figure it out on my own and I wasnt prepared for any aspect of that. I would love to be discovered but at least this time i am trying to minimize my expectations for the sake of my sanity and if nothing comes of this journey, I wont understand it but I wont hate it because I am enjoying the journey.
This was fantastic! Mark is such a great storyteller. Thoroughly enjoyed this. I remember watching the "5 Guys In A Limo" video the first time I ever used RU-vid almost 10 years ago. Don Lafontaine and Mark Elliott were the two that stood out for me. I was instantly reminded of the Disney promos on the VHS tapes during the 80's and 90's after hearing Mark's voice when seeing that video. Look forward to part two!
Sounds like Lester Holt. He definately did past 2001. He did Lilo and Stitch, The Lion King, Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp Platinum Edition. He did many trailers until 2008
Great video! Sure brings back a ton of memories just hearing Mark's voice. He defined the Disney promo voice so masterfully! Thanks for sharing your stories with us Mark! Also, thanks Chuck and Stacey for what you do...always a pleasure! Peace
I was thinking of long ago and people in my life, when I thought of my first boyfriend, John Frick. When I looked up his name online, I was totally blown away to learn that my first boyfriend is the renowned Mark Elliot and that I have been listening to his voice for years in the movies! It was SO much fun listening to this interview and I would love for him to know how fondly I have thought of him for all these years and that he has always held a special part in my heart. Thank you for bringing back the past----Sandy Shore, you are the greatest! Go Easy!😊 Sue Garner
You had me at... Sandy Shore. More proof that YOU CAN transition from Radio to VO! Thanks Mark with a C, Chuck with a D and Stacey with the key to another great interview with a VO legend! #voiceoverroyalty #vo #radiotovo
+Charlie Sill Thanks Charlie, actually just moved to the coast a week ago to truly Go For It! In Oceanside temporarily until I figure out a good area to land that's near all the action. Any suggestions on some good areas, moderately priced and close enuf to all the hub-bub would be greatly appreciated! All the best! Tim
Tim Andrews Voice I no longer live in LA so I am not much help-in Atlanta and this place is hoppin' with VO! Less expensive too! I have family in Fallbrook just east of you there in Oceanside!
Rip To The Legend you will forever be part of Disney family and forever the best feature presentation bumper thank you for filling up my childhood memories and may you rest in peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😥😥😥❤️❤️❤️
