Limerick are like a machine. Cork will have to be up 8 points at half time like down the pair. Only for Nicky Quaid it would have been 13 points at half time. Half time score will be critical.😋 Mouthwatering.
how can anyone say Clare have better hurlers when they were beaten by Kilkenny in the last 2 years of championship meetings! Darach needs to come down to earth .. Just about Fine to say for example Tony Kelly would have no worries about Mikey Butler if he finally wins that battle AFTER this Saturday but now since the last 2 beatings !
Am Clare beat Kilkenny twice this year. Maybe Saturday won’t work out for Clare but individually they have some better players just like Kilkenny have better players in certain positions. Works both ways
Clare have a few good forwards but on balance KK have the better players, certainly smarter players. If anything happened SOD..... forget it. KK most likely wont beat us but we will beat ourselves! Never seem to learn, particularly the backs. Too slow, too slow to deliver the ball, bad ball into forwards, worse ball into the keeper and ridiculous wides (which usually start when we're going well). Giving away big leads in every game by hitting the selfdestruct button. Conor Leen has been a great addition, keeps it simple, not constantly pulling and dragging and usually does the right thing with the ball. If the other 5 could do that, we would win. The fact that the ridiculous shooting hasnt been banned from management (including the 100 yard free attempts).....i would worry. Also playing out from the back, KK will pick them off and get easy scores. We just dont do easy! This is a game you need Ryan Taylor, unfortunately no great legs in the middle of the field to run at KK.
GAA are in the dark ages when it comes to the promotion and marketing of the games. If you're not invested in Gaelic Games you wouldn't know there is a game on. I think the GAA think tradition alone will keep the games popular, I'm involved with a club in East Cork now and nearly every kid joining had a parent who played, we aren't picking up other kids (very few). The games are up against professional international sports with unlimited tv coverage and major backing, the GAA need to up the ante and expose our games to kids. I grew up in a hurling hotspot believe it or not in South West Dublin, 3rd sport after soccer & boxing. We never had a club and still don't but a lot played for nearby clubs, we had street leagues and other matches that went on through the 80's, 90's and 2000's, a few still play for clubs but most of the kids now wouldn't even know what a hurl is. The city centre is pretty much a GAA wasteland, this shouldn't be the case.
Cork are nowhere near the level of Limerick. This match is way too hyped - even when Limerick were below par in Cork this year and 6 or 7 down at half time they dominated the second half
