There you go (and I won't promise every word is right, but I tried): „...and that's a difficult thing to pull off, in a version where he [Mycroft] actually is more active, I hope so. But also, he is more of a presence, he doesn't just sit in the Diogenes club all day not bothering and also because obviously Sherlock is the hero, he has to be the one who solves it. You have to sort of put things in the way of Mycroft to being able to actually quickly deduce it.(1/2)
He's a lot of fun to be because there's the one where Sherlock says to John, who's been staying over: „How was the li-lo?“ and I just say „It's the sofa, Sherlock.“ It's never explained, it's great! How does he know? ...the indentations on his arms..." (2/2)
There is one problem in Mark Gatiss playing Mycroft: He doesn’t at all resemble Benedict Cumberbatch. Not even their speech patterns are in any way similar. You'd think they might have worked more on that to make it more believable. As it is, there’s no way the two of them could be brothers, nor indeed have been raised by the same parents.
Brothers don't have to look alike that would be .ore in keeping with twins. As for similar speaking patterns, Mycroft is 7 years older than Sherlock and also supposedly has a higher intelligence level than Sherlock. The problem I have is all the posts claiming Mycroft is a great big brother. There are a few things that indicate this cannot be. 1. When Mycroft meets with John for the first time and claims he has to meet in secret to avoid the attention of Sherlock, yet shows up after Sherlock solved the case and taunts him also raises surveillance status on his brother. 2. When Sherlock is determined to take down MagNussen . Mycroft tells him if he does he will go against him. Then a member of the British government goes to Sherlock for help and Mycroft can't do anything to cover it up until the supposed reappearance on Moriarty. Seems more like a person willing to use his younger brother rather than be a brother to him. Especially after telling him not to accept MI6 assignment that would get him killed within 6 months. Supposedly after killing Magnussen it was OK for him to take that assignment and get killed???
