It also means that teams that are a little too weak or unlucky, who go out of the Europa League early, get a second chance of some kind of European run. As a fan of a tiny team who qualified for the Europa League once, and got knocked out 0-1 on aggregate, I'd have loved a second chance since it's unlikely we'll get another shot any time soon. Fans of big clubs like Man U love to pretend that the EPL and CL are all that matters, but they're just glory hunters. Even a 3rd rate European tournament means something if you support a minnow!

Yeah, it's a breath of fresh air. Champions League, and, recently, Europa League are all about the Top 5 Leagues, with at best some Portuguese and Dutch teams doing wonders every now and then. In the Conference League, you can have teams like Villareal (who played in the previous year's Champions League semi-final) and FC Vaduz (which qualified by winning the Liechtenstein Cup) and they virtually have the same chances of winning. I mean, Basel was close to reach the final. How often would you see a *Swiss* team in a European semifinal?
