Mark's sound is one of the reasons I bought a Gretsch after 30 years of paying dues on a 30 year old entry level set. It is a 2013 USA Custom in bop sizes. It belonged to Freda Love who played with Juliana Hatfield in the 1990s. No regrets at all. I can barely look at it some weeks because it is such an amazing instrument. But I hall it out every week to play with the same amateur crew I've played with for 15 years. This thing feels like a collectors item. Like future antique furniture or sculpture, even if you don't play. It's art.
Just realized I got to see him play that night with the fresh shells. They totally melted my face, I was in awe! The sound and sensitity of the drums were incredible.
I just saw this now. Never heard of the drummer. Both he + the kit sound great. That small kick sounds fantastic. Thanks + keep up the great work ! Best Wishes to all.
Weirdly enough this is the same you get from a 24" or above, both at the opposite size. Makes me wonder if I want to continue using bigger bass drums after all...!
@@jas_bataille only if you do Jazz Tuning and suffocate the Bass drum, to me a Standard Bass Drum is 24" , a 22" is small. my Gretsch Broadcaster Bass can do a lot more than that, a 16 or 18 has limits and no range.
Yes!! This is my dream kit, I will own a Gretsch Broadkaster sooner or later! Definitely getting the direct to shell mount! I hate thos free standing toms
@@conscious__creators I can tell you as the proud owner of a Broadkaster bop kit that it is worth every penny. They are the best set of drums I have ever owned without question and sound great with what I do. I hope you get to own your own Broadkaster real soon and enjoy them for years to come as every drummer deserves to own the kit of their dreams. With this though, if you plan on ordering your custom Broadkaster soon, expect a long wait as they are backed up on custom orders due to COVID. I have a couple of additional Broadkaster drums that I ordered back in October and they will not be here until January if not later.
If you have a 16" floor tom, you can convert it to a bass drum. Saves you a bunch of money and still sounds great! Look up the vid "what if I don't wanna play the cajon" by Harry Miree
Bebop kits are fantastic. For the one rack Tom only kit, it would be interesting to alternate with different rack Tom brands to change the sound a little bit.
One thing I noticed after watching this video many times is that the wood snare and toms were custom ordered without tone controls. The bass drums have tone controls front and back and the COB snare doesn't come from the factory with one.
Consider a bayan (low tabla drum) or timpani, all off-center hits though they are single head bowl drums. Some argue this is a sweet spot, even in 26’’ BDs
So I've been saving up for a kit that will be a long term investment, but I just couldn't choose the sound. Given the Connor Dennis video and this one, I'm pretty convinced.
Wow very impressive sounding drums. With all respect to all modern designed drums, the vintage brands always exceeds in sound quality and build and in finishes. These drums are timeless, just like artist like Elvin Jones. What model are threse and where can I buy a bebop kit like this???
Amazing color..Dear Gretsch you can Help me please, i have to buy the USA drum kits i love this color, you can tel me please the finish name thank you !!!
Must be so much easier to cart around to a gig. Beautiful colour. Better than Ludwig Breakbeats....much more expensive, however. Are these USA Customs.
Cool, thanks. I was thinking 6000 since that's the hardware set he's using. I just need a new pedal and can't decide what I want to get. I want something that's ultra-simple... not a bunch of bells & whistles.
DW 6000 is very similar to the original Camco 5000 that DW started to make. I haven't tried one but the 5000's I've tried have been lovely, I think I prefer the larger footprint of the floor plate but they're similar cam wise. Yamaha are great for simple pedals that just work out of the box. Their hardware is very well made.
Ah! I had forgotten about Yamaha. I'll check those out. I currently have a 1990's DW5000, an Iron Cobra, an old Speed King, and a few other entry level pedals. I like the minimalist look of the Sonor JoJo pedal, but it doesn't seem to get great reviews. The search continues. Tough to beat DW though.
in a much older clip he said that he would use any standart pedal available. even the drums. when he is on the road, the most important part of his sound are his cymbals which he carrying all over the world.
The guy in the vid says "white satin flame", which I don't think exist. I think it is white marine pearl (but I may be wrong), which seems to be available for USA and Broadcaster.
he said the bass drum was 12 x 16"... their site says they only do a 14 x 16" must be the Mark Guiliana special, right? or did he make a mistake..? perks of being one of the best drummers in the world!
@@gretschdrumsusa awesome thanks for clarifying! I am looking to purchase a custom order from Australia what is the best way to get in contact and clarify a few things? Is mark's 16" Bass drum resonant head called the offset? and the Larger Bass Drum with the massive "T" on the logo the 12:00 Gretsch Logo? I have more questions.. is there a best contact? Thank you Gretsch Fam! :)
@@gretschdrumsusa is this Broadkaster snare an 8 lug or 10 lug he's using? and do the bass drums come standard with these claw hooks to easily tune the drum? are they the "T Rods"? the website is a bit confusing... it has both these listed so are they 2 options or they include both for the drum? (Classic Chrome Die Cast Claw Hooks with Padding Chrome T-Rods) Thank you again!
OHRID I don't care what you/people think. I don't expect you to care about what I think. That's just my opinion; he'd be better of with another company.
