Sounds great, kinda reminds me of the black and white pearl kit Gregg Bissonnette played in the 80s with David Lee Roth, at the Buddy Rich Memorial Concert, and his private lesson video. Deep, bold, open sound.
It's only the smart thing to do for Gretch to support one of the most innovative, powerful, technically precise & amazingly musical Jazz Fusion drummers of the last 13+ years. I will always remember my mind being blown by your solo at the 2010 Meinl Drum Festival... Congrats on the new monster, Gergo! \m/\m/
I play a different brand of drums, but hearing you record in this room with every GRETSCH kit you've received, makes me wanna switch to GRETSCH drums 😭😭😭😭
The drum kit sounds good! The room, the playing... Wow! But about the bass drums: two different sizes is quite odd to me. None of the two has a double pedal? It's really two bass drum setup, but one is smaller than the other? What made you choose this configuration (other than mimicking Terry)? Thanks for the playing and the inspiration. Cheers, from Québec Canada.
So I'm using the kit with hole on the front head (there's no holes on the video), and both kicks have pillows inside. Same kind of character, but slightly different vibe. And this was the plan. I needed different sizes, but similar characters. I'll upload more videos soon, where you can hear what I'm talking about.
Húúú de szép, átugrottam volna a hegy túloldaláról(Pásztó) megnézni/meghallgatni :D majd legközelebb. Jelezd légy szíves ha lesz valami nyilvános gyakorlásod, ami hétvégére esik :D
I'm expecting some great videos with this kit in the future, doesn't matter if it's Fresh Co. or anywhere else, the drums sound amazing out of the box! Nyomjad Gergő!
I know exactly what you mean when you say, it’s already happening!!! I just bought my first Gretsch USA Custom Bop with 5.5 x14 snare also in Black Nitron!!!!! These drums are so melodic!!!!!
Oldschool was a great choice my friend,im jealous. This kit sounds so good right out of box.I’ve been a yamaha devotee, but gretsch always scratched my itch. More video’s of this kit in this room please??? Cheers from🇺🇸
Kia Ora greetings from New Zealand. That great Gretsch sound in a great room and a great guy. My kit is from 1981 black nitron maple.22,24 kick,12,13 rack,14,16 floor, 14x6 1/2 maple snare,14x5 brass. What is your snare?
That drum kit was in the box like "I hope I go to an owner who plays great but doesn't hit me too hard" Gergo opens box. Drums: "OH GREAT THE INCREDIBLE HULK FML"
Every unboxing I’ve watched they sound utterly amazing. 24” BD wow! I was not expecting that from you but we’re about to find out what that marriage sounds like!
Oeff. 10” deep tom above a 24”. For the tall drummers. Killer! And that room!!! I would love to record my vintage DW Chester Thompson inspired double bass kit there.
Gergo has made my top 10 list of favorite players. Amazing player! I like his style which is a call back to 70s fusion players with a modern twist. Hard to explain but i like it!! Great looking kit, great sound!
I don't know why you'd want 2 different size kick drums, but I recommend switching them so you can mount the deeper toms over the shorter kick, and lower the toms a bit.
I don't need the toms lower. And I love the main 24" kick. All my other kits are super comfortable. I needed kit which is more challenge to play on, and I'm so much in love with this one!
Great drummer, great room, great kit, great sound - the list goes on! All the best to you Gergo - you are a great inspiration and always a joy to watch! Greetings from Germany, Jochen
The very first time you hit these new toms, I heard that distinct sound that Phil Collins got on his kit. Only natural reverb and more beautiful tone. Bravo Gergo !! Beautiful kit !!! I have a very similar USA Custom kit from 1980 8x12, 9x13, 10x14, 16x16, 16x18, 14x24 I wish I could make my mine sound as beautiful as yours, you really make them sing! What drum heads did you request ? Peace!
This is great! I've watched this a few times already. Besides the unboxing and Gergos playing, which is truly unmatched. One of my favorite parts is the tap, followed by "Its Happening" LOL
