It’s official the hell with whomever didn’t acknowledge that spot as the Mark Henry Spot! Man it must of meant a lot when he created it to have him get so emotional! TBH I can’t say I blame him because a lot of stuff in wrestling has been already created so when stuff like this does happen that said wrestler should get the name that spot especially being that he done it first! Mark I’m sorry Vince didn’t give atleast acknowledge it as your spot he should had!
He needs to make the return to the company either as Jade manager when she turns heel over Bianca or a producer in the back that produces matches and help younger talent
Once he said why it made him cry it made complete sense. Leaving a mark on a business like pro wrestling with so much history and defining moments is legitimately a rare thing to accomplish.
Not to mention he said in his earlier days he couldn’t even fathom being in the ring let alone a championship and now an iconic move created by himself
Was he emotional because he felt underappreciated or because he left a lasting legacy with a move that he created? For me, it feels like the latter. Especially when he explains why he got emotional. Mark Henry doesn't seem like the type of guy to get emotional because of underappreciation, but he does seem like the type of guy to get emotional after creating a move that everyone told him couldn't be done or was impossible. A move that will forever be associated with him.
@@TheAnthonyG. Well kind of both. WWE was giving him crappy gimmick to make him quit wrestling because wwe made expensive deal with him which he later refused to change the money number. WWE not being happy kept giving him crappy storyline and stuff to make him quit but he never quit. It was so many years later that other wrestlers started to respect him for never quitting despite poor treatment. Mark Henry had a rough road to be where he is today in wrestling world and to leave a mark in wrestling in which there was time when the whole wwe organization was trying to make him quit by mistreating him and stuff.
@@TheAnthonyG.I definitely think it's both. He talks about creating something special, a lot of guys when on to use it after he did. He prob feels like he wasn't given his dues and it's totally understandable, especially with the career he had. He prob just wants to be remembered for the lasting impact he had.
@@quark_E100% agreed, not sure what the other guys were yapping about. Sure it happened, but he knows how the business works and pushed moving forward until he got his opportunity
He deserves his due. From Olympic powerlifter to WWE Star and had a very successful career. It was impressive to see him do that move in person. Legend!
Mark Henry is a big teddy bear. The way they opened raw is Owen with him and his poem and showing him in tears. I remember seeing that as a kid. I've always loved Henry. A tough guy but had such a big heart. I had his first action figure in his nation attire. Even then he was my strongest action figure. Much love Mark.
@@thembinkosidube3918maybe most will, after most black people quit playing the victim, look at Asians they get there flowers, Mexicans get there flowers, and blacks that don't play victim, get there roses, but blacks play victim get 🍼
This made me cry. The way he said it, it just resonates deep. "They need to call it the Mark Henry Spot" meant that he felt underappreciated and the fact that the host noticed it finally made him feel appreciated
i'm from Corsicana, Texas and met Mark during a field trip to Dallas back in 4th grade. he was so damn cool! he picked up multiple of us on both arms and swung us around snd gave us hugs! gave me an amazing memory both on and off the screen and gave me a story i cherish 🙏🏾
Mark is such a humble gentle soul. I think those tears were for the fact that he felt honored that other wrestlers used that spot. I think that is the purest form of flattery. To have other wrestlers like it so much that they wanted to mimic it because it looked so cool.
Mark Henry is honestly the nicest person, when I was a kid I went to a WWE live event and I had a broken foot and he offered to carry me up the stairs lol I’ll never forget that
Met him outside the Barclay center with R Truth, just chilling outside chatting with the locals for a while. And it was not like people asked for autographs. Just all chills
What a beautiful moment, love seeing the men behind the monsters, they're usually the best guys in the industry, Mark really did have one of the great careers in the history of the WWE 💪🏾
Bro Mark had an incredible career. From the time i was a kid starting to watch in the mid 90's all the way through adulthood he was still doing it at a high level. What a brute man.
Watching him cry shows you how much his profession means to him he definitely deserves all the praise we as fans can heap on him and watching that move again in this show's you exactly what kind of athlete Mark truly is because that move takes a level of quickness strength and focus that not many possess all at the same time
Universally*. But 100% agree, ive never heard anyone ever say a bad thing about this man. He also discovered Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Dude had an amazing career.
He was tearing up because it finally got to the point where he can speak on it and not get bashed for it we as the fans should give him the recognition
WWE restaurant in Times Square May 2002. He showed up with his family and we were in our Navy uniforms. He was the nicest guy to talk to and thanked us for serving our country
This is like those awkward Mike Tyson interviews where he randomly starts crying and you don’t know if you should say anything because you don’t want to die After he explained, I 100% understood though
Mark’s emotions are so pure. His tribute to Owen always hit the hardest. I love his open honesty and his overall character. A true giant who always gave hos all and is more than deserving of the HOF!
I watched Mark Henry's reaction (his eulogy that was filmed by the WWE shortly after Owen's death). Mark Henry's tears and genuine emotional display put some tears in my own eyes. He's easily one of the most affable male celebrities that I'm presently aware of.
Man, I never knew Mark Henry was such a passionate wrestler. Much respect to a former powerlifting champ, wrestler, and overall good person. Such an exemplary athlete.
❤ initially thought he was going to say something selfish and be all ‘they all stole my spot’ but he’s just proud to have left his mark in the sport. Thank you Mark Henry
@@squiddwizzard8850nah literally said a lotta people don't create something and he hit a spot that caught on and had never been seen before him leaving a legacy on such a decorated roster of superstars with a long history of innovation
I have been his biggest fan since he started in 1996. I actually cried when I found out he retired. He has been my biggest influence on a lot of things that I've done. You have not only left your mark on the wrestling business but on people's hearts as well. Enjoy your retirement. It is very well deserved.
That means a living legend for him to sit up there and say everything that’s in wrestling has already been done is crazy that man was so special and unique when he enter that ring, it was crazy you know it was about to get wild.
He created a move nobody did before and to see other wrestlers doing it basically it's showing him they respect him and what he created going to be around for generations I probably would cry to
It makes sense too. He made history in WWE in the 90s with his strength alone. I can only imagine how It feels to look back on your prime and wish you could have 1 more go around and it to be 1999 again
When I was little I watched the end of the attitude era, loved Steve Austin and all. Then came back in the PG era around 2008/09 and man I loved Mark Henry. He didn't get the front billing but he was so cool to watch and he is indeed strong. Id play as him on SDvsR 2010 all the time. Plus his theme was awesome.
I remember meet mark at the durby in Louisville wen i was bout 21 ..he was the coolest ... it seemed surreal but i got thw autograph & he talked to me for like 15 min .... Great dude ...thank u mark Memories i will never forget
Mark Henry is one of many wrestlers that I've seen from the beginning of his wrestling career to almost his retirement. He's one that got better and better as he progressed. He won the World Heavyweight Championship, but the WWE Championship is number one.
I was born in 2001 I'm watching wrestling since childhood and i was so afraid of mark Henry and Kane.I had many nightmares that mark hendy is chasing me to kill me,when i grew up a little the year was 2015 i became a huge fan of his because i understood the behind the scenes.I was rooting for henry but he lost every single matches and that just broke my heart. Then i realized what he was doing,he was putting over younger talent. This guy is a freaking legend.
Probably one of the most humble dudes in the history of wrestling. Anything he had the privilege of taking part in and or start the man clearly holds those things and such dear to his heart. He may not had the Cena type push or the guy. He had an impact in the business. Perfect template of how to book an absolute unit like him as monster and a believable one at that.
At the moment he realized people were doing his moves,he knew he was immortal as far as the world of professional wrestling. That's why he teared up, and that's why I love him 💯 #
