Just had emergency surgery on my colon cancer coming out the surgery there is only one way to start my day is that I had to put your interview want to stay strong and positive that I got a Be!
Mark was a rare breed of a big man wrestler. He had the aura of being a menacing, cold blooded beast that most wrestlers didn't want to mess around with. It's shameful that guys like John Cena overshadowed the main bulk of mark's WWE career BC his hall of pain gimmick should have result with him being the WWE champion instead of the world heavyweight champion.
🏮for me , Not really hate him , I thought the entrance and theme was quite strong, so I wanted to know his mindset, and what type of dude he is, and wrestling was definitely interesting, whenever he came out‼️ Glad he is one of the, greatest respected, Wrestlers in Wrestling‼️ yea he looks mean and is definition of hell-strong
Can you imagine if more people strived to be like Mark Henry? Held themselves to the standards he holds himself to and taught his children to hold themselves to. Absolutely an amazing man. Put all his accolades in wrestling and strength competition aside and the amount of respect I have for him is still almost immeasurable. He is the epitome of dignity and I can't compliment him enough.
Mark Henry will never be retired in my eyes lol. When he won the World Heavyweight Championship, I felt like it was long overdue. He's one person who could come back to the ring and business would pick up like he never left.
When he said about kids “you’d step in front of a train,” I also got teary-eyed thinking about my kids. Then I thought, “If Mark Henry did that, he might STOP the train!”
I loved Mark Henry as a wrestler, and I also love hearing him as a storyteller. I'm so glad that another company was able to recognize his talents. Also, best of luck to his son and reaching his dreams!
Mark Henry the wrestler, scary as a mfer!! Mark Henry the man, one of the most humble people i ever had the honor of meeting. I was a bouncer at a nightclub in Austin, TX in early 2000s called Palladium Nightclub just after getting out of the Army. On New Year's Eve a cold front hit and i got stuck outside working the door and running the golf cart shuttle driving customers to their cars at the end of the night. And who do I end up taking to his car but The Legend Mark Henry and his 2 friends who were ever bit the same size as he is. At that time i was 6'7" and about 275 lbs and they made me feel small lol so me and these 3 men climb in the electric golf cart shuttle and head to their car a block and a half away. I took us almost 10 mins to get there or at least it felt like it cause the poor golf cart just couldn't handle all the weight😂 but Mr. Henry and his friends cracked jokes about it the whole way till my ribs hurt. They ended the trip by tipping me very generously, thanking me, and wishing me a Happy New Year! Basicly turning one of the worst New Year's Eve in my life into one i will never forget and will get to tell my grandkids about!
I've always loved Mark. A strong, powerful, humble and inspiration to so many people. He started as a power lifter in the Olympics and went on to be a great wrestler and human being. God bless him.
I've been deep into wrestling most of my life, and I can honestly say that Chris is one of the most respectable interviewers that's ever been in the business. I put him in the class of Bill Apter. It's refreshing to see someone who respects the business, understands the business, and goes into the heart of the business to learn from.....sometimes literally. He's a good listener too, and he doesn't interrupt, and that means a lot. Sometimes people just need someone to listen to them, and wrestlers are no different. Watch any of his interviews and you can see how comfortable and at ease the guys/gals are when they're talking to him, and that's what makes the best and most in depth shoot interviews. Some of these guys have been interviewed a zillion times, so as an interviewer you have to do your homework and focus on areas that maybe haven't been discussed or discussed very little in their previous shoots with other interviewers, and Chris is good at that. You can tell the guys enjoy talking to Chris as much as he enjoys talking to them. Another great interview as usual!👍
The fact that Mark Henry didn't have a Brock Lesnar-like domination run throught the Ruthless Agression and PG era is so unreal to me. His Hall of Pain run showed us that he can be one of the most terrifying characters in pro wrestling and they only used that side of him properly for a year. He could have been THE greatest monster heel of all time.
The itnerviews I love the most, is the ones where you can tell that Chris can just relax with the guest and just be himself 100% . This is one of those interviews. Mark henry is so funny and smart.
the fact that I believe in 03 or 04 he became only the second man in HISTORY to lift the thomas inch dumbbell over his head speaks volumes to how otherworldly strong this man is
I try telling people Mark Henry is arguably the strongest man to ever live. He dominated tested powerlifting and his lifts still rank in the top 5-10 almost 30 years later. He won the first Arnold Strongman Classic like he said. And of course went to the Olympics in weightlifting. Nobody can dominate all 3 strength sports like he did. Incredible strength athlete.
@@perceivedvelocity9914 No he's talking about a wrestling match I mean he has some clue in his head that Brock would destroy Mark in a matter of seconds. Whats Mark going to do? bench press him into a bloody pulp? AHahahahahahahahaha
Hi ya Chris Van Vliet, love this show ,you make everything gold and ofcourse Mr Henry. I am sure myself and many other would love to see the end of Mark Henry and Paul White match. Love and respect 💜💜🇨🇦🇨🇦💜💜
John prob strong but no way hes out powering Henry. I agree with the respect people before. But I like some people with experience are also less willing to pass it down now. That just my experience tho.
Mark is by far my favorite person in Pro Wrestling. The man exudes passion, respect and love. He really makes you feel. Whenever he's on busted open, I'm there.
Mark Henry is a genuine great and humble man, you can see it just by listening to him speak for a few minutes. I'm glad Tony Khan treats him the way he deserves, especially after everything he's done for the business. And I got to thank him for discovering Jade Cargill because she's been my favourite woman to watch ever since she debuted in AEW. A real badass and a hard worker
Chris is great at listening to his guests. So many interviewers make it it about themselves or their list of questions. Others are too loose and irreverent. This guy has the perfect balance.
Steve Austin was the top of the chain. No one did it like him. Yeah hogan was really popular but still the most people watching wrestling was when stone cold was cutting promos and stone cold stunnering everyone an there mommas lol. I’m saying when they were on the subject.
I ran into Mark at Waffle House in Huntsville, AL in 2003. He rolled up in a freaking limo lol. I had to say hello and shake his hand (his hand was 14x the size of mine lol). He was incredibly generous and very kind.
Mark Henry is literally Earths Mightiest Hero. I dont think anyone on earth can argue otherwise, and if they do, theyll just have to take it up with the History Books. Its all been documented. If Lex Luthor cant argue it, what makes anyone else think they can? Its a good job hes around otherwise it might be anarchy on this small little backwater planet of ours. Three cheers for the Big Guy!!!
no doubt mark henry was one if not the strongest man in wrestling,,,dude is 100% scary legit......had an awesome wrestling career and i enjoyed watching his career,...hes a legend and a humble man.
These are the sorts of guys I feel bad for thinking were a bit of a joke when I was a 13 year old during the Attitude era and obsessed with Hogan, Austin, Rock, Goldberg, DX, NWO etc. Even a guy like Triple H. You realise later maybe after a long break from watching pro wrestling (I stopped from 2008-2022) that not only were they actually great but the names above that I just listed wouldn't have be as big and as great as they were without guys like Mark, Triple H, Goldust and Vader. It took me a while but much respect Mark! Enjoy your success and after AEW reigniting my interest in the sport I hope I get to see you compete one last time so I can show the respect you deserve by applauding after your last match!
as a kid growing up & wanting to be a wrestler, I wished & prayed Mark Henry wasnt still wrestling when I grew up, so I wouldn’t have to get my ass kicked by him. 😭
Great interview! Could listen to this hours and hours. Someone, maybe Mox or Danielson to hype up Blood & Guts or something, needs to use that line in a promo. Talking about the BCC: "We don't need weapons, we are the weapons"
The Hand episode with Mae Young was so horrific that I haven`t watched the WWE since and that was 1993. Other people who saw it never watched pro wrestling again, by their own admission.
Tony Chimel: "His Opponent Coming Down The Aisle From Silsbee,Tx Standing At 6'4 At A Combine Weight Of 439lbs The Worlds Strongest Man Mark Henry." Mark is Undoubtedly 1 of the Most Memorable BIG Men in the History of Professional Wrestling.. Great Interview Chris!
The Sheik of Saudi Arabia, who is supposed to be a "big WWE fan" had no idea that Yoko is not with us anymore (IMHO: You should know that as a true fan!) but to somehow satisfy his wish, Vince hired a Sumo Wrestller.
Hi Mark thank you for just being you. I've been a 40+ year wrestling fan and you always made me love wrestling when I kind of was getting a lack of interest then boom Mark pops up and you'd bring me back. Thank you! God bless you sir.
Love Mark but placing Austin at 5 over Andre, Hogan, Flair and Undertaker seems criminal 😂 Also it isn't just the 'money' factor, the guy was an all rounder and probably the best one : great in-ring worker+incredible promo+awesome look+ biggest draw + super creative and charismatic. You might need to look at that list again 🤦🏽♂️😂
Mark Henry should of been booked as a monster, none of that sexual chocolate crap, no Mae Young hand baby. Just had him come out and destroy fools. Just another opportunity WWE missed.
Not a Cena fan but the difference is Cena trains an looks good, an he has stamina. Also can play a character an is good on the mic. Mark Henry just looks fat, has never looked like he trains, he sweats after 30 seconds, socks on the mic. An no disrespect but i can't remember anything good he did in WWE. hopefully he can change that now.
