Winning is not necessarily surviving cancer. Winning is living your life regardless of how bad it gets and not throwing in the towel at any point. Winning is not letting cancer define what you want to do. Mark is already winning.

good news is, is that chemo is definitely working for him. his cancer is not terminal even though it is at stage IV.

luckily his mom got diagnosed with the same form of cancer (same stage too) and beat it, as well as breast cancer. if that resilience runs in the family; he's hopefully in good hands

I completely agree. I was just saying this to myself after the video ended, how I wake up every day and just pick up my guitar whenever I feel like, without a care, and I just take it all for granted. A video like this really makes me stop to appreciate everything that I have because anything can happen to anybody and any time.

@@juscratchinmaballs the thing is even if we try to be super appreciative all the damn time we get used to our surroundings and even physical pain (i suffer from several chronic severe health conditions) and once u kinda settle to a level u gotta get real low again to see what u had before. But i also try to be grateful as much as i can for how great my life actually is. Good that u try too! :)

@@ms_needle I know what you mean by settling into a low and sorta getting used to it, I do that myself. I often tell myself though, that things could always be worse and that my pain is only relative to what others may be going through, that helps me to appreciate what I have in the moment. It kinda sounds like you do the same. :D And I'm sorry to hear you suffer from severe health conditions, my best wishes to you.

I ve met so many people that went through much worse shit than myself (esp in hospitals) it always grounded me and it gave me such a different perspective on life even if I've been really close to dying (acutally was dying from a sepsis before I realized I was not gonna last much longer if I dont go to get help). I am acutally grateful for being sick haha because it made me so much stronger and brought me together with so many people who inspired me and helped me through even though we were total strangers. And aww thanks thats sweet its okay!! I make music to cope (feel free to check it out haha u dont have to ofcourse) I hope Mark finds strength in his music too

@@suburbanindie I think he was just saying in general but I can totally relate. It’s like an addiction. I take a break for a couple days and I crave going back to my guitars and my drumset. Sometimes I’ll drop everything I’m doing just to go play for an hour or two

@@Ottophil Have you ever bled due to the pain from playing guitar though? It's not a joke. It can be excruciating. Almost as bad as wearing super tight nipple clamps for hours at a time.

that's a short scale (30 inch scale length vs. normal 34 inch scale) Fender Jaguar Bass, but Mark plays mostly these basses live for quite a while now, so nothing out of ordinary. He played a Fender P-Bass with a Jazz Bass body before that, which was a normal 34 inch scale.
