This film helped me come out to my friends. Post-viewing I didn't feel content lying by omission. Instead I only felt inspired, having one more thing in common with some of the amazing people it depicts. Incredible story - go and see it.

That scene where he bumps into an old friend that was drunk and had been up for 4 days on his 'farewell' tour and then he slowly realised his friend meant he was about to die of HIV and that he most likely had it too, isn't leaving my head alone. God it must of been an awful time.

Absolutely loved everything about this film, from the brilliantly quick witted humour to the perfectly pitched soundtrack; one of the funniest and most gleeful and joyous films I have ever seen.

Loved it. Tears etc. Hope youngsters watching it now will be astonished at the hatred back then, it was real and epically stupid.

I watched the movie for the first time about 6 months ago - have watched it about 5 times since then. Prepare to cry, laugh, and cry all over again. At the same time, too.

Sounds like this is going to become a British classic, it sounds like it has echo's of The Full Monty. Deffo one to watch.

I just watched it and GOD. All the characters are my favourite characters (exept maurine ofc), I cried so much and then I learned it was all true and quite honestly, I'm showing it to all of my friends soon.

"Back in a time when things were much more black and white." I'm told that by people who have polar opposite political views here in the US. Over and over over and over and over. I often wonder if anything was "more black and white," or if people were just younger then and thought so.

Sounds great, unfortunately I will probably not have the chance to watch this in cinema where I live. Well, I'll buy the DVD in a year or so and shed some tears of joy (hopefully).

Chris Morris' only short movie, My Wrongs 8245-8249 and 117, is worth mentioning. It's basically one ten-minute long dark, dark joke wrought onscreen, but what a joke! One of my favourite things either of them have done.

Social historically interesting - certainly; good film - yes; would I want to watch it again? - doubtful; no 1 film of the year - surely not....

It's one of those horrible typical little British films that we have gone on to make in recent years. I think we really need to break away from this setimental guff because it's just as formulaic as Hollywood.
