My comment is several years too late but please get real. I'm a Mark Knopfler fan, and have the Local Hero album on vinyl from the day it was released. However, Mist Covered Mountains is a tune from circe 1856 (I have it in a book of bagpipe music printed in 1962). It must have been played on accordions for decades. Mark appears to join in for Going Home onwards (great, of course) but probably had little input on what had been played in Mist Covered Mountains for the previous 100+ years. Credit where credit is due, and here it is that he recognised a good tune to incorporate into the movie.
