People knock the cast for ever reaching the heights of SBTB but so what! Saved By the Bell was HUGE and for the entire 90s it was a phenomenon and lived on for years after in syndication. I am almost 40, and kids my age adored this show. To be able to leave something this great behind is truly something special. I am very grateful to have been alive during the heights of SBTB. RIP Dustin Diamond.
i've been seeking comments like yours for the longest because I get so tired of these actors bitching about work that enabled them to sustain notoriety. Plus Saved By the Bell was more of a brand anyway so it's not like these actors were technically more important than it.
I just wish they could have got better deals for the work. There lives would have been a bit easier if they were appropriately compensated for their work. They were the ones who made the show click after all.
@@darnellmajor9016 You're a dumbshit. It's one thing to do something iconic but it's another when you are defined by that thing. How would you like it if you were only known for one thing you did as a teen and it affected your livelihood?
This was exceptional very positive vibe & a great interview & video but just one thing I was dispapointed I didn't hear one thing about Lark Voorhees/ Lisa Turtle & she was extraordinary on the show had her own sophisticated uniqueness about her but no mention of anything much about her in any discussions over saved by the bell not just in this video but any I've seen over the show with Mark or Mario when they discuss it
He didn't mention Lark once, I notice none of them ever do :( Didn't he even date her for years? I hope the cast has at least reached out during her mental health struggles.
I really wish they wouldn't shun Lark out. When they said Elizabeth finally got a mention, I was thinking...what about Lark!!!🙄 She deserves so much better.
Plus, he probably has fond memories of doing the show. He was very cute and the main star of a hit TV show with his face on the bestselling merchandise. That gets you lots of perquisites.
Dude needs to except he was the face of a whole Generation. We all loved and wanted to be Zack Morris. If you were a 90s kid, you watched SBTB no matter if you were a stud, geek, burn out, or bully. You watched SBTB. Not a bad gig or something to be ashamed of at all in my opinion. It is what it is Preppy 🤙
I agree. So what if they never got as big as they were back then because SBTB set the bar very high. It was a pop culture phenomenon and touched the lives of everyone who watched it. I am grateful to have grown up in that era.
Coincidentally enough, other than Screech NOT evidently being the biggest prankster on the set, most of what Dustin mentioned in his book checks out to what Mark said.
nileyfan1998 It was a rumor he dated all 3. Lark is the only one I know for sure. Cause, Tiffani was dating Brian before she left to do 90210 with him.
@@huffy6192 I heard she was his longest relationship as a teenager /young person so it's weird she's never mentioned just because she had a mental illness
@@nileyfan1998 Mark and Lark allegedly dated for three years. Just because she's mentally ill doesn't mean he has to be ashamed that he dated her and pretending he never dated her. 3 years is a long time, I'm surprised during all that time Mark never noticed something wrong with Lark although Dustin Diamond did the first time he met her during Saved by the bell, but Lark and Dustin never dated.
Mark Paul Gosslar seems to be right about his co star from the Saved by the Bell Mario Lopez that he was such a flirt as well. Mark Paul Gosslar is such an good looking guy even when he was a younger man.
I know that mario lopez aka. ac slater may get lost in the shuffle when it comes to the Midwest mentality. Most people and commenters are from there but in new york especially brooklyn ac slater was seen as the most handsome and cute by all the girls. We were thrilled to see a latino on a popular show like saved by the bell.
The difference between him and Mario is that Mark doesn't seem fake; Mario seems fake as hell. Something about Mario I don't like. Feeling like he's a fake is probably a big part of it.
Yeah I cringed when he said Dustin was most like his character since during and after the show, Dustin had such a hard time proving to people that the character wasn’t him at all
His problems of being the star of a huge mega tsunami of success that lasted even up until present day? I just hope before he passed away that Dustin let go of the resentment and realized how truly special the show was and how it touched the lives of people my age (I am almost 40) and made them happy.
I for some reason feel like him say Dustin was most like his character was a cheap shot taken at Dustin and feel like he said not trying to make the other people mad!!
@@CaptainSpalding72 Americans certainly do, esp w their 1 drop policy, Obama is considered black even if he is only half and Tiger Woods is considered black when he is only a quarter. And yes for Asians it matters as well
@@CaptainSpalding72 no one? Come to Asia then, lol. Try to leave your own backyard and pls Americans clearly do by how they treat tiger woods for honoring his mother
Who gives a rats ass. Iron Eyes Cody wasn't even an Indian yet he was a great actor playing one. James Caan isn't even Italian yet he was awesome as Sonny Corleone. It is called acting. Anyone that hung up on ethnicity needs to grow up. BTW, I never considered Obama black. Lol.
I have to say it doesn’t matter there’s a lot of Wonderful different things about of the Saved By The Bell Cast they all were Awesome in all Great in the Serises of Saved By The Bell
Why would anyone ever be ashamed of being in arguably the biggest and best kid series ever made? Even my DAD used to love watching SBTB with my sister and me when we were kids growing up in the early 90s.
having grown up in southern California in the late 80s/early 90s, we had a ton of Zack Morrises. He was the typical middle class white kid growing up in that era of California beach culture.
I know what you mean, but he and Keanu both biracial with Asian heritage and it produces a similar look. Mark’s mom is Indonesian and Keanu’s dad is Chinese-Hawaiian.
@@maryammure5151 😂😂👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽that's right. The girl from Christmas, I forgot her name also but her and her dad was homeless. Oh that's right, ex girl from Germany and we finally found out what AC stand for (Albert Clifford)and zack and jessie got dress like an old couple to spy on them. Oh yes, the girl from Hawaii, and she had a daughter. Thanks for the reminder
That’s crazy that Mark wasn’t like his character at all. I always felt he was I mean he didn’t smash ANY of those extras ?? Dustin said they’d get stoned too.
Dustin was a little bitter because he was several years younger than they were. He didn't get to party and get laid quite as much because he was the geek. I hope in his final chapter of his life he finally realized how truly special Screech was and how any prettyboy could be a Zack but it took somethng very unique to be a Screech. The prom episode where Lisa asks Screen to go to prom with her still always warms my heart. RIP Dustin, and long live Screech!
SBTB was so huge who cares if they never reach that level of greatness again. They each did smaller roles and things that were good just not as well known as SBTB. I really liked Showgirls, and Dead Man on Campus, and How High, and Son in Law, and Nip Tuck, and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. The entire cast should be proud, and grateful, and has nothing left to ever prove to anyone. RIP Dustin Diamond. Zack may have been the leader but Screech was the heart.
That's funny that he said that Dustin Diamond was the one who was most like his character. I wonder whether he meant that Diamond is a huge loser just like a Screech?
Yes they do because of what he wrote about them. But if you watch diffrent interviews with diffrent cast members especially the one with Dennis haskins there was more going on behind the scenes then what we knew and Dustin exposed it
@@adamcairns783 I understand why he did it... they all went on to have somewhat successful careers and Dustin went from being a famous TV star to being nothing. I don't blame him for writing the book, he wanted to cash in on what little fame he had lol
