Very interesting! Straight from the horses' mouth so I am not about to debate it. The tale I heard in the 90s was that the BoP art was created for Volcanic Island -- not the basic island. And because the birds were featured so prominently, the card BoP was created for it and Volcanic Island got left off the Alpha sheet.

Would be nice to hear more than 82 seconds about it :) So happy I got a playset of unlimited Birds and two unl. Tropical Islands back then. Looking forward to make a double site in the binder with Birds, Tr. Island, Island sancturary and filled up with Marks Beta V2 basic Islands :) Is there another card with "the" Island on I missed?
