Thanks for reacting to this. What a Beautifully written, Sung, and executed song. By all 4 guys. Tremendous backing vocals. And, Gary sang the shite out of the lead vocals. Wow.
Huge Extreme fan here in Houston. This is another outstanding single. I hope you do plan to buy the album and take the entire journey. If you didn't know the singles released to date are the first 4 tracks on the new album. Do yourself a favor and listen to them in their order. They are setting this album up to be special. Individually, they are incredible. Together, they are next level.
Yep, we've already covered the first three songs. We covered them the weeks they came out. This album is shaping up to be something really special. And we gotta band together and convince them to tour here in Texas! The closest they're coming to us is Denver.
@@LikeMindedLunatics I saw your reactions to the other ones. Good stuff. I just love re listening to them in the order and continuously in preps for next Friday. Agreed the Texas fans here need shows. I hope they get a 2nd US leg that includes Texas.
@@jimmcallister1741I think I saw Gary say in an interview that the tour will start here, go to Japan and Europe, and then they'll see about additional U.S. dates. There are worse things than going to Denver to see a show I guess, but boy I hope they make it to Texas somewhere so I don't have to travel to see them! I also keep hoping at some point they tour with Mammoth WVH. That would be rad as hell. And thanks for checking out our other videos. I hope you've subbed to the channel and keep hanging out with us. And if you ever find yourself in Austin, we do live shows at the Mueller Alamo Drafthouse, and we also have a T.V. show on Austin Music T.V.
@@LikeMindedLunatics Deal. My son works in Austin, and it is a small enough world where we will cross paths and shake hands and not drink Miller but something else!
I remembered it straight away. What's so good about Extreme is that they do so many different things and are not stuck in having match the last song. They've always done the unexpected. Its a good song. Gary's voice, the harmonies, Nuno's solo - all round good vibe.
Yeah, they're really eclectic and have a lot of tools in their toolbox. I love that they can slip into different sounds while still sounding like themselves. If you haven't seen the Nuno interview with Beato that I talk about in this video, you should check it out. He talks about playing EVH's rig and being devastated that he didn't sound like Eddie, but he said he realized that everyone eventually just ends up sounding like themselves, which isn't a bad thing. It was a neat conversation about finding truth in art, and Nuno is so forthcoming. It was great.
@@LikeMindedLunatics I watched the whole interview in one sitting. Nuno is the real deal on and off the stage. Class act to be sure. I personally like Nuno's playing somewhat more than Eddy. I know I will get called a blasphemer for that, but I am just telling the truth, so be it.
Great reaction video. Thank you! Usually, I appreciate Extreme's rock 'n' roll songs a lot more than the ballad-like ones, but this one is pure magic. It has everything. Deep feeling, ridiculous energy, great melodies, beautiful atmosphere, perfect mix, jaw-dropping technique (obviously Nuno's solo, but also Gary's off the chart vocals, and Pat's subtle and perfectly placed little runs), a heart-warming backstory, and epic cinematography. I'd really wish for the boys, that this one breaks the charts/the internet and gets them the broad recognition they've always deserved (beyond 'More Than Words'). If they managed to get younger generations in touch with the power and beauty of true rock 'n' roll, that would be the greatest thing ever. This kind of music can't just be a niche.

Completely agree. This is the kind of music video and song that would have just stayed at the top of MTV's rotation back in the day. It's really such a shame that media has become so fragmented that there isn't a place like MTV for folks to see/hear music from different genres because you're right, this is the type of video and song that used to cross genres, and it really should again. Thanks for checking out our video and commenting. I hope you check out some of our other content too.
30 year fan here! Love your take, love that your drinking lol, love the shirt!! What makes them untouchable IMHO - diversity, song writing, musicianship... Nuno. New fan, just sub'd.
Thanks man! I'm glad you liked our reaction! Yeah, this song is fantastic. I can't wait to hear this entire album. The band is really firing on all cylinders, and I've been really impressed with all the interviews they've been doing lately. Like I said in the video, Nuno's interview with Beato is so damn good. I hope you've watched it already. Thanks again! I hope you check out some of our other stuff.
This is the album we've all been waiting for. All 4 songs are incredible, this one has some great vocals and hearing musicians again is so refreshing. Hope they come to Houston
"Hope they come to Houston" Man, you and me both. Right now the closest stop they have to us is in Denver. I'm not opposed to traveling to Denver, heck the RECREATION is better there and easier to get, but damn come to Texas, fellas! And incidentally, if you ever find yourself in Austin, we do live music video comedy shows at the Alamo Drafthouse in Mueller. So if you're ever up here, hit us up on FB to see when we're performing and come and hang with us in person.
Yeah, this song is absolutely gorgeous, and for a number of reasons! The musicianship is stellar, but the lyrics and the video are gorgeous in their mature depiction of love. It's really great. Thank you for checking out our video.
What an amazing song. Great singing and work from all of the guys in the band. They are on fire in this one!!! That Millers High Life is like drinking shaving cream mixed with brake fluid, it might seem like a good deal at the casino for a dollar fifty but don't do it.
I agree totally. This song is great, the last three singles have been great, and I CANNOT WAIT for the entire album! "That Millers High Life is like drinking shaving cream mixed with brake fluid" Ugh. It's awful. It's rare that I don't finish a beer, but I just couldn't with that one. Thanks for checking out our reaction! I hope you check out more of our content!
Have you listened to the entire thing yet?!? I've probably listened to it four or five times all the way through. It might be my favorite album of theirs!
It's not often that (especially these days) a song gets stuck in my head for days on end. However, Since I saw these guys earlier this week in Houston, this song has crawled in my ear and nested. This is quite possibly the best song on this album, and maybe even 2024. A tip of the hat to Nuno, Gary, Pat , and Kevin.....you got me. PS- Miller beer is Trash.
Awesome man! I just saw them here in Austin. This album is so good that I really have a hard time picking my favorite song off it, which I think is a testament to the album itself. It's just filled with amazing songs. Hopefully you saw this week's reaction (I introduce my buddy Ladi to "Thicker Than Blood," then next week we're releasing our "Hurricane" reaction.
Nuno wore that hat in concert last night at Foxwoods Casino in CT and had a funny story about it. Oh, and they did your "favorite " song which they didnt do back in August when we saw them in Portland, Maine.
I just saw them on Monday. They played everything I wanted to hear and more. This album is really something special. I'm glad you got to see them too. If you haven't seen it, we posted a "Thicker Than Blood" reaction today, and next week we'll post our "Hurricane" reaction.
I'm ashamed to say I'm not all that familiar with Gary's solo stuff. His stuff with Extreme and VH? I know that work, but not his solo stuff. I'll have to check it out.
I'm impressed that you picked up on the vocal stylings that are reminiscent of Queen. He was channeling Freddy straight down to the bow at the end. Excellent reaction!
That was the first thing I noticed! Gary is straight up channeling Freddie here. This tune sounds like it could come off Queen's "It's A Kind Of Magic" album, which is near and dear to my heart. Thanks for checking out our stuff. I hope you've already subbed to the channel and plan on sticking around.
I kept thinking the whole time how they’ve grown up since the song that shall not be named. A mature take on relationships, not a ploy to get laid. The album is almost a smorgasbord of influences, yet their own.
"I kept thinking the whole time how they’ve grown up since the song that shall not be named." 😂 That songs is the musical equivalent of Voldemort! And yeah, I totally agree. This song and the video itself are really mature takes on love, and it's really refreshing. I hope Sonic Temple was good! You gotta let us know the highlights!
Hey guys, that time of the week again, 😂😂 we will ignore the Miller ! But your face when you take a sip is priceless 🤣 This is a good song, it has a feel good vibe to it ,in spite of what the girls situation might be.. Maybe Clark did somethin to piss her off or break her trust somehow. Maybe theyre mending their relationship. Like a journey through a rough patch. But the song is really nice, extreme continues to impress. Nice ending there. Thank you, Mark and LML for another awesome video. You guys work hard and it shows 🤜🏻🤛🏼
I think he was her friend and she broke up with someone..at least that's the thing I'm getting from the lyrics. At the end he thought he was still just in the friend zone until she came back.
@@LikeMindedLunatics i had this tune in my head for hours after watching , it had a pretty big impact on me. Also im purposefully not checking out the other songs, i wanna wait until you air them 🤣 so theyre a first look for me as well.
@Like Minded Lunatics Production I listened again to Nelson and both the same type of harmonies but Gary is really making the most of his voice and Nuno's solo is just perfect here.
It's not Peter Panish at all. Wish upon a star Wake up where the clouds Are far behind you These lyrics are from "Over the Rainbow" in "The Wizard of Oz." They changed "me" to "you."
As beautiful as those harmonies are...they did not help! I always forget how bad they are until I have one! Thanks for checking out our video. I hope you check out more of our stuff. Most times I enjoy my beverage as much as the video.
I honestly have to agree. It makes me laugh how you're not a REAL fan unless you love absolutely everything, like if nuno farted on a snare drum people would be praising it as some artistic sgt pepper or something. To me it sounds like a very bland generic pop rock radio friendly song - kinda the song they tried to write the opposite of when they wrote more than words. If you remember correctly, nuno said they didn't want to write the typical syrupy bon jovi ballad with the big vocal chorus - and yet here we are. And nunos solo sounds to me like theyre trying to fit 20 pounds of stuff into a 10 pound bag, I don't think it suits the song at all. I think rise is a good song, and probably the only one I truly like so far, the next two that followed sounded like they took the chorus from panteras walk, and the other litterally took the guitar rhythm from sections of motley crues girls girls girls. I don't know what the rest of the album is like, but I'm personally thinking their first three albums are still their best. You others that like snare drum farts don't have to come after me pitchforks, you won't change my mind and I really don't care anyway, you're entitled to love it and that's fine by me, it's just not doing it for me.
